I've been coming here since 2006, and I think they are about to celebrate 50 years in business - at the same location. This tiny spot on Beverly Blvd is a true gem. Long before Erewhon was everywhere (and when there was only one, which was also on Beverly Blvd, but it didn't do smoothies), I was trekking here to get the most amazing Banana Manna shake made with fresh-squeezed tangerine coconut juice made by Hal. It was street parking and cash only, and only 2 customers fit in the store at a time. Today, it's still very much the same: excellent high quality, fresh juices and drinks made with those juices. Two notable differences: they now take your order from the entry while you wait on the sidewalk, and they accept all forms of payment. Hal has retired, but his memory here lives on. I was standing in line to order a drink and there was a nice lady speaking to her nephew on FaceTime, then the person who works there told her to be quiet and to get off the phone, or she would not serve her! I had the banana almond manna green genie smoothie and it was absolutely delightful but $15. I was weirdly craving blended greens today so I looked around for a smoothie place and found this to have pretty good reviews. Just a heads up, when I came here the indoor area was blocked off so you order from outside. They take card but prefer Venmo, cash, or Zelle. The person at front was helpful in answering my questions about the different types of juices and smoothies. I settled for the green genie smoothie you can also just get it as a juice. There's a mix of fruits and veggies in the smoothie but the banana and ginger taste stands out the most. When I'm sipping, I taste the sweetness from the banana and then there's quite a strong ginger after taste, which is a bit too strong for my liking. It was a bit pricy also $14 for the smoothie, though I don't get these often so I'm not sure if this is standard for West LA. I'll definitely come back in the future and try their other smoothies and juices, definitely no ginger for me though. read more
