I had a completely unacceptable experience at La Michoacana Premium tonight (between 6:30-7:30pm), and it raises serious concerns about both customer service and basic food safety. The drink I ordered was made incorrectly and did not match what was advertised (they added chamoy throughout the drink instead of just on the rim). I politely brought it to their attention and even asked if I should throw the drink away or leave it on the counter -- I was told to leave it there, which I did. They remade the drink, but then attempted to charge me AGAIN for the corrected version, despite the mistake being entirely on their end. At that point, I declined and said I didn't want it anymore. What happened next was beyond unacceptable -- the employee gave BOTH drinks to the next customer, including the one I had already drank from. That is a blatant health and sanitation violation. There is no scenario where a used drink should ever be re-served to another customer. This goes far beyond a simple mistake. Between trying to double charge and re-serving a contaminated drink, this reflects extremely poor training, lack of oversight, and disregard for basic hygiene standards. I will not be returning, and I strongly question how this location handles food safety behind the counter. Management needs to address this immediately. read more

I'm just now realizing I need to start writing my reviews as I'm experiencing them, and not leaving my reviews to whenever I get to them because La Michoacana in San Juan totally deserves one, right now as I left this place! This location is by far the best Michoacana I've been to. They offer way more variety when it comes to food and aguas frescas compared to the other franchises. Plus, their portion sizes? Bigger than any other Michoacana I've visited, and I've been to quite a few! I'm sad to say that we had a bad experience. We arrived with four children and three adults, excited to try out some fun flavored ice cream creations. After our ice creams the kids ask to spend their allowance in the gum ball/ toy machines located in the store. We said sure, as the kids loaded their allowance into the machines and began pulling out their toys, one of the kids started crying I didn't get my toy. Then another one of the children didn't get a toy. I asked the girl at the counter if she could help us out, explaining that the machine was broken, she said "there's nothing I can do" Then the owner of the store got up from her table and went to the back of the store with her daughter. She would not come out until we left. I tried calling to explain what happ but when I called they would answer and then hang up phone.
