I'd say La Michoacana Top's is one of those hit or miss spots. My wife ordered the "estilo Mexico" (Mexican-style chocolate drink), and honestly... it tasted like powdered chocolate milk. Very similar to what we're used to with Nesquik chocolate milk. She didn't like it at all and even said "this is not how it's supposed to taste." I haven't had authentic Mexican-style chocolate milk before, so I was expecting something richer or more traditional, but this one definitely didn't live up to the hype. On the flip side, my agua de sandía (watermelon drink) was fire. Super refreshing, perfectly sweet, and exactly what you want when you're melting in a California summer. I also saw a lot of reviews calling out bad service, but that wasn't our experience at all. It was pretty packed when we went, but the staff stayed friendly and kept things moving. No complaints there. Overall, not a bad stop. It just depends on what you order. I'd come back, but I'd definitely stick with the aguas next time. read more

I had a really disappointing experience here. The corn was extremely dry and tasted horrible, like it had been sitting out for a long time. I also ordered the chocolate milk in a bag, and it was warm and chunky instead of cold and smooth. Both items seemed like they weren't stored or prepared properly. However, we've all been to plenty of places like this where the service was welcoming, courteous, and oriented in delivering the best experience. Not the case here . I'm sure they have their reasons. Service was slow, with zero sense of urgency. We waited perhaps ten minutes before a second person came out and took our order. They forgot to put the banana on my banana split, so I had to ask for it. There's a lot of room for improvement in service. We love the menu. There are so many dynamic and unique choices. We had a banana split and chose cappuccino, bubu lubu, and ferrero for the 3 ice creams. It was topped with chocolate syrup, whipped cream, 3 maraschino cherries, chopped peanuts, and rainbow sprinkles. Super fun and absolutely scrumptious. Cost was $11.xx. The workers here are nice. But this one girl in particular pissed me off. I used to go here every Monday and Wednesday, since then I haven't gone. One day I went to get some snacks, I was feeling a bit curious to try a different flavor of ice cream. I know because of covid they haven't been giving samples and I understand that. I saw one of the workers there give a couple in front of me some samples, so I thought "hey maybe they're giving samples again" so when I asked for a sample they told me they don't give samples. The Bionico contained fruits like watermelon, pineapple and mango all of which did not pair well with the cream, coconut and granola. I called this location and they expressed that all Michoacanas make their Bionico differently and don't make the traditional papaya, apple, banana, strawberry and melon. She mentioned normally guest say what fruits they like or not, i unfortunately ordered using the YELP app and was not offered a list of fruit ingredients. Moving forward I suggest listing the ingredients specially if you know your establishment doesn't follow a standard when making certain items. read more

I was so excited for this store to open since it's closer to my home. We usually drive to the one across from Cardenas. At first I loved this place cause we get the fresas con crema and i would tell them with everything (cream, granola, raisins, and coconut shavings) and mind you we would go about twice a week! And the last time we went we ordered the same thing as alway and the girl just puts a little tiny cream and a little bit of granola.. I told her I want raisins and coco also, she tell me that it's going to be 75¢ more for each add in! WHAT?!? 75¢?! That is CRAZY. For little tiny scoops?! No thank you. How are u guys going to always give it to us and all of sudden charge us? And for that much is absurd. Maybe 10¢? But 75¢?! Thats basically a $1! So on top of the $7 I pay I would get charge $2 more? If I could give 0 stars I would. My bf and I ordered 2 raspados and 3 magoniadas. The lady assisting looked unhappy to be there and didn't really care to be attentive to us so whatever we proceed our order she hands us the 2 raspados first and my bf and I noticed black stuff floating in our raspado. We were kind of hesitant at first to think they were ants because how come the lady didn't notice and she handed it to us so she proceeds to make the magoniadas and we can for sure tell it was ants since we noticed the legs, so we bring it to her attention politely and she doesn't say any and goes to the back she disappears for a few minutes comes out and completely ignores us then another lady comes from the back and starts helping the customers behind us and both of them completely ignore us didn't even apologize or anything. Whatever so we had to ask her to replace it since her customer service skills are horrible she couldn't offer us a solution to her mistake. So we proceeded to pay and we jokingly asked the cashier if we could get a discount since they gave me something with ants and not even continue to help us out the lady just decided to give us a dirty look and tell us no.
