I was confused when I got to the place because it was called shisha king cafe on google, but when we got there there the place was called La Mill. Google maps may have registered 2 different names. Upon the first look of the place, it has a very non-welcoming entrance. A small wooden door divides the restaurant into indoor and outdoor seating. The Outdoor seating can get cold (also I visited this place during the winter). We made sure to sit right under the heater. We ordered Lady killer sheesha, mixed grill, hummus, labneh and shawarma meal. Hummus was pretty average. I have had better. The Mixed grill and Shawarma were very good and delicious. Their French fries were really good... crispy. I believe they are the Costco fries. Overall a decent place. read more

This place is absolute trash from top to bottom. First off, the food is extremely mediocre, bland, and overpriced. I didn't bother taking a pic as most of it was clearly bought from costco. The service was non-existent, and we had to ask multiple times just to get our bill and a takeout box. Most annoying of all, they don't serve tap water - you have to buy water bottles for $2 each. I'm pretty sure that's illegal, but whatever. The only people that seem to like this place are the ones who came for the shisha and not the food. I'm really surprised by the low reviews on here. My hubby works in the area and picks up lunch from La-Mill at least 2-3 times a month (for the love of shawarma!). He raved about the food, the cleanliness of the restaurant and the service, i was curious to try it. Plus i love mediterranean and middle eastern food, so it wasn't a hard sell! The opportunity to try their food came last month when hubby was finishing early for the day and offered to pick up lunch. Yes, we live in Markham, so waiting 40-45 minutes for shawarma - i was a bit skeptical as to how the food would taste. The food was packaged so well, it wasn't cold - that was a plus for me. I really really liked the flavour of the chicken shawarma, seasoning was great! Rice was fresh, salad was fresh. Tabbouleh was amazing! Garlic sauce was good, only the tahini was a bit bland for me. After that lunch, he brought it home again this month for us. Consistently good. Price is good too $13.99 for Chicken Shawarma (rice, chicken, salad, toorshi/pickles & pickled turnips), with generous portions and freshly baked pita (OMG sooo good!). Beef shawarma sandwich, has the most tender meat i have ever had in a shawarma and the seasoning is amazing! Huge sandwich wrapped in lavash style bread which does not fall apart! I don't like leaving bad reviews but I feel like with La Mill I have to say what I want to say because otherwise how would they improve? 1- First of all how on earth are people supposed to find the front door?? It's completely hidden from sight, and the place itself is tucked away at an awkward corner of the plaza. 2- This place should be advertised as a shisha lounge not a restaurant. As soon as I went through the door I realized it's not the place I want to be at. There were people smoking shisha all over the restaurant blocking the pathways between the tables. I'm not comfortable with being in these places since 2 of my family members have breathing problems. Why not separate the smoking area from the rest of the place so people don't suffer collectively?!! 3- This place is DIRTY!! The table and chairs all needed a good scrub down. The washroom though was like a scene from a horror movie. Tissues were all over the floor with bins overflowing. Toilets were so disgusting they had "brown" stuff all over the inside of the bowls which told me it hadn't been cleaned for some time. There was no soap in the washroom and the hand dryer didn't work. How hard is it to keep a washroom clean? In 10 minutes it could be brought back to an acceptable state. My rule of thumb is, if the washroom isn't good, the restaurant isn't good. Seeing all this I told my group that we should leave and the place is not worth staying at. You might as well put a chair outside of a gas station and eat there. I'm happy to report that I didn't eat anything here as I couldn't stand what I was seeing. I will never go to this place again. For the owners: You have a chance to be one of the most buzzing places in Mississauga. Why are you wasting your time and your customers time? Put yourself into gear and pull the place together. I feel like the owners might have just opened this place as a shot in the dark project or money laundering like some other similar restaurants. I would rate this place around 4 stars. The doorway/entrance is a bit hidden, I would recommend them trying to make it easier for people to find it rather than making it seem like it looks closed. Other than that, there food is really good. As a middle eastern, it's hard for me to find mediterranean food that actually tastes genuine. They have an option like, "Labneh" and I was surprised. It's a common food in middle east yet, you wouldn't find at your local mediterranean restaurants so, I was surprised, but happy to hear, that they served that. There dessert wasn't bad, I probably wouldn't order it again. The waffle I ordered was very thick. Their cheesecake didn't really hit the spot for me as well. I don't mean to sound rude, but it tastes like it was out in the fridge for a long time. It was probably just a hit or miss for that day. Overall, I would definitely come again. read more

I adore this restaurant! Soooooo much better than the competition all around Mississauga. The only place that does proper authentic Saj! You can get a shawarma on saj and it tastes amazing, so my mom says! And she is super picky! Not all dark meat! And the falafels are hands down my favourite in Mississauga! Everything here is so tasty including the tabouli which has pomegranate sauce in it, which isn't totally traditional but a tasty twist! I highly recommend to give this place a shot! read more

Garbage restaurant, garbage service, garbage food. The servers are either kindergarten dropouts or were dropped on their heads as babies. It was nearly impossible to find a server that spoke at a 2nd grade level of English and took 40 mins to get the bill. They also charge for water which and allow cigarette smoking in the patio which is illegal. I'm shocked that this place is still in business, the only logical explanation would be that this is a front for money laundering. Eat at your own risk!!! read more

~ A solid 3.5 stars ~ Been here a few times now and service is as expected in a middle eastern restaurant....which is slow but the ambience is good. I have enjoyed their: Mix Grill platter, which comes 2 skewers kafta, shish tawook, tikka with rice and with hummus & garlic sauce Lamb platter, which comes with 2 lamb skewers served with rice and hummus. Chicken and Beef Shawarma platter, which came with chicken & beef pieces, served with Tahini & Garlic Sauceand rice. all these dishes were nice. Meat was marinated, soft, tender and tasty. The price was quite high when compared to other restaurants. These guys also have a shisha lounge on the side with a patio in the summer months. The selection is quite good and they make a very good shisha... Both the restaurant and shisha lounge are separate so families can enjoy the restaurant. I think it is the worst service I have ever had in Canada.. portions are ridiculously small now.. the manager was yelling at te waiters and waitresses in front of customers.. we asked for bread and it took 20 mins to get.. Extremely disappointing. Came to this restaurant on Friday for lunch and didn't have a great experience. I ordered the tabbouleh salad but was told they didn't have it. Instead I requested for the saj crepe but again, was told they didn't have it. So the rest of my table put in their orders and the waitress said she'd come back to take my order once I figured out what I wanted. She never returned. After finally flagging her down, I decided on the Kibbeh and the Rkakat Jebneh from the Hot Mezza section. The food took a while to come, such that other members of my party started to notice as well. Eventually everybody received their meals with the exception of myself. I gave it some more time knowing that I had placed my order late, however when everyone was close to finishing their meals I finally followed up on my food and shortly after the waitress brought it out. The Kibbeh was ice cold in the centre and did not come with tahini sauce despite what the menu states. The Rkakat Jebneh was very greasy. My coworkers seemed to enjoy their dishes and there were no complaints on their end. However I did not enjoy both the food and the service and will not be returning. read more

Atrocious food quality. This was a 1st & last visit here. We're very familiar with middle eastern cuisine, & cook ourselves. Our issues are, specifically: - tabbouleh: THE CURLY PARSLEY HAD NOT BEEN WASHED. AT ALL! Harsh levels of grit were in every forkful. Beyond that, the ingredients were sparse, being almost totally parsley & lemon juice. - french fries: were a combination of properly cooked fries, & fries that were so old they had dried out & belo9nged in a garbage can. - beef shawarma platter: beef was OK, a bit on the dry side. We weren't asked what sauces we wanted. What we got was tahini only. No garlic sauce, no hot sauce. It was takeout, so naught to be done about it at home. read more

I choose menu items from Masala Library & LA Mill. Food was ready on time and it was tasty as expected mix grill platter, Chicken Malai Boti was juicy tasty, especially chicken karahi was the best. When we come to LA Mill I cannot miss to buy Appetizer Plate & kids always want Shawarma Poutine. TLDR: The meat platters may be good, but the wraps are sub-par, but the chef/cook is very nice. I found the waitresses to be a bit cold though. I ordered something at the counter and I couldn't hear what they were saying and didn't seem happy to be there. I ordered the falafel wrap and grilled veggie wrap. I've had lots of Mediterranean food and I need it to meet downtown Toronto standards. While the total of two wraps was around $10, they weren't filling at all. The falafel wrap only had two falafels and I had to ask them to put hummus on it. I thought hummus was a standard for a falafel wrap. What's even stranger is that they put the hummus on after all the toppings. That's just odd. While the wrap looked big, I had to eat through at least 1/3 wrap before getting to the toppings. The grilled veggie wrap was also mostly bread and very little taste to it as well (and I don't even add salt to most of home made meals, I just add natural spices). I went into the "La Mill express" section of the place and I figure two wraps should be easy enough to make. It still took about 10-12 minutes. Honestly, if the food was better and more filling (i.e. more nutrients instead of bread), I wouldn't mind at all, but when I basically end up eating bread with a side of veggies and two falafels for $10, it's kind of annoying. The chef is very nice and he seemed overwhelmed though and I really want to give them 3 stars because he was so nice, but these wraps were just bad. Verdict: Might be good for meat eaters, but if you're a healthy plant based eater, don't bother. read more

My family and I just ordered La-Mill for the first time, through Skip the Dishes. It was definitely a mistake. Two salads with grilled chicken came with shawarma (the restaurant told Skip that it's "the same thing" ). The hummus with beef came with chicken, and the beef kabob dinner was way over cooked and dry. The restaurant said that my order met their standards. Wow, those are low standards when more than half of the order was wrong! My order that was over $100 ended up going into the garbage, and I actually had to order a replacement dinner from another restaurant. Overall, getting a satisfactory dinner ended up costing $200 tonight. If I could provide 0 stars, I would. Do yourself a favour and avoid La-Mill. read more

I never got to eat here, so this is a review based on the poor customer service. Showed up on Eid. HUGE MISTAKE, place was packed with the exception of 1 table out on their outdoor patio. I stood at the door for quite some time, being ignored by a couple of waitresses. They were busy clearing tables, seating other diners, and were probably overwhelmed. It seemed a bit chaotic as there were other patrons standing around, waiting to be seated, standing in a line, etc. Finally, a man in a blue dress shirt and dress pants, who I assumed was a manager/supervisor, said that there was a table outside, if we wanted. He even opened the door to double-check. He said that he'd send someone out. After sitting outside, catching up with my friend for at least 10-15mins, with no waitress, I go to check in. I see the same gentleman and tell him that no one came out yet with any menus. 5-7mins later, a waitress comes out with a note pad and asks if we're ready to order. We tell her that we haven't even received any menus...as per our empty table. She left and we waited for at least a few more minutes before giving up and finally leaving. There was definitely a problem with being short staffed &/or mismanaged. It's Eid, a holiday already on your calendar, people aren't fasting, they're gonna go out to eat, so why didn't they put more people on duty?? I'm sure if I visited on a non-holiday, my review would be quite different. If it took soo long to not even get a menu, imagine how long the food would've taken...if at all? Outdoor patio could've also been used better. It was HUGE, but there were only a few tables. Could've easily doubled the amount of tables and been better use of space. read more

Being a Lebanese it is very easy for us to spot the good from the bad Mediterranean food especially when it involves Lebanese food. This place is amazing. I am not sure about the previous reviews but we went twice on a two separate times the same week and we received the same excellent service with amazing food. Even my 75 years old dad was shocked about the excellent quality of food he ate. It is the best Mediterranean restaurant in town. While we were waiting for our food, and they noticed it was going to take more than 10 mins or so, they gave us a free pizza-style appetizer (mana-eesh for those that know). Very much appreciated.
