I was pleasantly surprised by this course, which turned out to be in pretty good condition. However, a lot of the comments these reviewers make are true. 99.99% of the clientele are older korean men, and they stack the tee times with 5-somes. So more often than not, you're looking at a 5+ hour round. But I played in a threesome last friday morning, and they let us go out by ourselves, which made the experience 100x better. The group in front of us were fairly good, allowing us to finish in about 4 1/2. The course itself is pretty easy and it seems a lot shorter than most others I have played. There's no need to hit from the whites here. Also, don't even think about getting waved up on a par 3. Koreans don't even know what that means. The greens might be a little small but they run extremely slow, which is probably why this course is so popular. It can really be a big benefit if your short game is not that tight. The staff here are surprisingly friendly as well, which is something I rarely notice at a golf course. So if you are looking for an easy course that is very reasonably priced, this is a good course for you. Just hope you don't get stuck in a big line of 5-somes, or you'll be here all day. read more

I'll start my review by saying I've been here 3 times now and each time I was treated great. I booked thru their website and never had an issue. I was even late once by 15 min. (I know, I know. How inconsiderate, all my fault sorry) and the staff still accommodated (Respect your Tee times tho). The course is public, but you have well kept greens and fairways and even bunkers aren't bad. They have tree hazards on most holes so if you're like me, you'll bring a few balls to lose. I honestly have no complaints and you can't blame the course for other people's attitude or character. They can't control that. With that being said the times I've been here it's been steady cruising, great pace and respectful groups behind us. Great course I recommend you'll have fun! Pros: Fun layout, good prices (during weekday 3pm-after, during weekend 5pm-after) great staff, good greens. Cons: Carts. They need to either charge em up or change them. Some are slow and some will die out. Never happened to me but saw it on reviews and saw it happen. Driving range, it is a zoo! We had our ceremony and reception at La Mirada Golf Course. I'm very thankful for Diana. She was very professional, kind, and patient with me. I must've sent a hundred emails to her in the months leading up to the wedding. She always got back to me quickly. Our wedding day turned out beautifully. We had 100 guests and had plenty of room to spread out still. There's a lot of space indoor and outdoor. We hired outside taco catering, so we weren't able to try the food. As someone who has been in the bridal and wedding industry for a long time it was quite shocking the way the wedding/event staff handled the wedding I was a part of. Diana has terrible customer service and manners honestly. She was quite the opposite of helpful leading up to the wedding and especially on the day of. I think the most important part of this review is the fact the this golf course decided it was okay to purchase EGGO WAFFLES for a morning wedding when we were told it was going to be completely different waffles (obviously much nicer ones). This to me shows two things specifically. 1. they could care less about your experience once they have your money and 2. there is no integrity amongst the managers and people who were in charge. Knowing there is no integrity within the people who are supposed to make your day special should be a big enough red flag to stay away. Do not risk it. You are paying a lot of money and who knows maybe your steak dinner that you planned will turn into a spam dinner instead. They can make all the excuses they want in response to this review but the fact of the matter is that they should be ashamed. I will never recommend any bride or the family of any bride to book this place. other quick things to consider: - they "don't do ice" so be prepared for warm water and drinks at tables - they do not communicate well - the staff was cleaning up our tables and chairs before our allotted time THAT WAS PAID FOR was up - Diana cannot do her job or really ANYTHING without going to the bride with every question even if your the mother of the bride, the maid of honor etc. which means she interrupts the bride during special moments - they had sugar free syrup only - the chicken was disgusting - and even though you will pay a lot of money for food they wont do a test testing before hand so you better have a lot of trust in these people that they wont switch out your food last minute for a cheaper option. read more

Terrible experience at La Mirada golf course. The light were out completely for the time I was there. For a golf course I pay a membership at I expectations are at the fullest. Plus I've probably spend easily a cool grand playing here cause it is my home course. Just terrible because no one came down and let everyone know that lights were going to be out. And the people there told us the lights were going to be fixed that night, however that's just a reclusive statement and which the lights were going to be fixed tomorrow or the day after. I am ecstatic to have my wedding pictures back to be able to write this review! When I started looking for venues, I wanted to have a place that offered both a ceremony and reception site and was fairly close to home and La Mirada Golf Course gave us the most bang for our buck. When we first started, things were a little rocky- the entire events department left and was just so disorganized. Then Zelina came on board and she turned everything around- she was able to establish relationships with new vendors and even improved the patio with bistro lights. She was an integral part of our amazing wedding day. Pre-ceremony picture taking went smoothly with the help of Zelina and the staff. She allowed us to use two golf carts in order to have our first look and so I wouldn't have to walk in my heels. I loved that La Mirada has a designated first look spot that's incredibly intimate and unaccessible to guests and non-media staff. This really made us feel very special and gave us the privacy we wanted for that moment. The ceremony site was beautiful. We were graced with wonderful weather and timed the ceremony just right to be during the golden hour. The flowers as coordinated by the vendor included with the packaged perfectly matched our color scheme. The cocktail hour was on the beautiful patio overlooking the course. The head chef was so accommodating and was able to help us pick/create two appetizers that were suitable for my vegetarian and gluten free guests. The guests were raving about the appetizers- and they were right to! They were amazing. While the guests were enjoying cocktail hour, Zelina came in and brought appetizers for us so we could eat. The reception hall was beautiful, the food was fantastic, and all the staff at the golf course were so polite. We received so many rave reviews about the reception food. It is so much better than your standard wedding food- the chicken was moist, the steak was perfectly cooked, and the sides were prepared to perfection. While La Mirada has some preferred vendors- they do allow you to pick your vendors outside of linens and catering. This allowed us to have our family friend provide reception centerpieces and bridal party florals, another company to do our late night snack, our own wedding coordinator, our own harpist and wedding band. We also had coordinated with La Mirada Golf to do a sparkler photo op, which made for great pictures and an exciting experience for our guests. I could go on about how wonderful our experience was with La Mirada Golf. We had the most wonderful longest-shortest day of our lives that went so smoothly thanks to the staff at La Mirada Golf. If you're thinking about holding your wedding here, don't hesitate. The price is seriously the best for the area, it's a beautiful location, the staff is accommodating, the food is well prepared and planning will go smoothly. Review is solely for the GOLF COURSE. Our fivesome tee'd off on a Friday, early February 2018. I have always heard of La Mirada (Muni) Golf Course but never got the chance to give it a go. We finally made an effort, called the pro shop a week in advance, and booked a tee time. The price was about $40 something with a cart for that Friday. Even though our tee time was at 7am, there was already a line up on tee box# 1. The thing I can recall most about the front nine holes was all the dog right layouts. It was as if we were going in a big circular (clockwise) motion. For you fade/slice players, you are in luck. For you draw/hook players, it may be challenge *ahemMEahem*. The conditions were decent even though the outer-edge rough could probably use a good trimming. The greens were fair, what you would expect out of a public course that allows fivesomes and gets a good beating daily. I am sure if you tee off later in the day, there would be plenty of unfixed divots. We found some made by previous groups and tried to clean them up. Some of my buddies found the plentiful greenside bunkers to be a little annoying. Most likely because their golf balls kept finding them. What I recalled most about the course was the elevation changes. It's not so much the changes in elevation, but just the general lay out of some of the holes. One long par 5, I felt as if I was playing golf in a half pipe (maybe hole #7). Doesn't matter if you hit to the left or the right, the ball will probably roll back down into the middle of the funnel. When you get to around hole #16 and you're about to close out the round, this is where I felt it got real gimmicky. Your tee box hits downhill to the right. You cannot see the pin because the ideal second shot is a like a 90 degree bank shot, left uphill. Us, being first timers on this course, had to figure out where was the darn green. Don't assume it's just straight down and further. You'll end up on another hole's fairway if you keep hitting it in the same direction. To me, this was probably the most annoying hole (mind you, I didn't say most difficult). Although, you may be facing a blind shot, the only thing working for you is that this hole is a short par 5. I can imagine that if you tee off later in the day, play here on the weekend or on a holiday, you can expect a long round. They do allow fivesomes after all. Many people opt to walk the course too. There are plenty of elevation changes throughout the course, which also leads to some blind shots at times. I found some of the final holes not so much as challenging but just had unique layouts. You can sense that they made do with whatever land they had available. I don't think this course will be in our rotation anytime soon. read more

came here to hit a bucket of golf balls when we were bored on a monday around 6pm. when we arrived we parked in the spacious parking lot and walked over to the range area. there are two levels to the golfing range and we went on the lower level and all the way to the end in order to have shade! we spent a good hour there enjoying our time. majority of people who are there are serious golfers, 15% are people casually coming to hit balls. for a medium bucket of balls, it is $14. overall the golf course is not in the best condition but its useable. also we called in prior to arrival to see how busy it was and the staff member who answered the phone was super friendly and nice! would return to use the range again! read more

I am a member of the TripleSSeniors there and I play in 3 tournaments a month at this course, plus every Tuesday and Friday. The management and staff are super friendly and the course is in pretty good shape. The greens are excellent but there are a few bad spots on some of the fairways, mostly due to the hot weather and humidity. If you take a look at some of the other courses in that area, they are in worse shape. It seems like the superintendent is always there doing everything him and his staff can do to keep this course in shape. Every once in a while I do play at other coursed, including 1 away tournament with my club every month, and always leave disappointed with the conditions. For being a County Course, it does get a lot of play, but for the $ and conditions, I will always return for another round. The course has a large parking lot, upper and lower levels for the driving range, and I would recommend it for anyone, beginners to pros. read more

How do you leave a 0 star review? Believe me, if I could, I would. Wow. That was the most unorganized, clustered, chaotic, sorry excuse for a "golf course" I've ever played at. Nearly 7 hours hours for a round of golf. I've never seen more 5somes and 6somes in my life, and I spend a lot of time on questionable websites. Never, ever, ever play here. Rude workers who seemingly had zero clue what was going on. The starter was actually the dumbest employee I've ever spoken to. He told us our 4some would be joining a 2some to make the pace of play at the course go faster. What? Our tee time was at 8 am and we teed off at 9:05 because there was 8 groups waiting before us on the first tee box. Maybe don't have tee times every 4 minutes? Who operates this place? You should genuinely be embarrassed of yourself. You are a joke. Please, never come here. You will waste your entire day waiting 20 minutes on each tee box. read more

Course is nice BUT the range is a whole different story. I hit balls there a few times a week and I almost always have to wait in a line of approximately 10 customers for staff to reload the range ball dispenser, and the wait is usually 15-30 minutes. I really think that if they purchased more balls we'd be in a lot better shape. I pay monthly as a member but find this to be quite annoying. Also, nobody enforces the one bucket per person rule. I've spoken to the employees in the office (not the manager) and was told that there is no way the could enforce such rule. read more

I love this course, and only wish it was a little closer to home. We live in Northridge... so it's roughly about an hour drive. Sure, it's only a Par 70, but the lay out is great, and it is sufficiently challenging for die-hard golfers, yet not horribly so for those of us that don't carry Phil Mickelson's genes. I won't even admit my handicap - I've only been playing a very short time - but I enjoyed it very much, regardless of my triple digit score. :). I could give it a 3 1/2 for fairways conditions TODAY... but that wouldn't be fair, because it's dormant now and, like all courses, it's trying to bounce back from the closures at the onset of the COVID lockdowns. I've seen this course in the past, when my daughter played in multiple tournaments...and then, it was in amazing shape. I imagine it will be again, come Spring. I'm still giving this course a 5 star rating, especially because the staff here - beginning with the AGM, Matt - is great! Pace of Play was incredible... We were done in 4hrs 15min, and that's including stopping in to pick up lunch on our way to 10! Thanks Matt & Staff... Poor golf etiquette seems to be the reason for the slow play. I don't want to come off being racist but this course in the late 90's saw a large shift in the number of Asian golfers and in the same breath noticed a huge increase in time per round. Now before you get upset hear me out on this. Just think about it, Most of them walk the course which is totally fine however they walk in packs and wait for one to hit, say "geww shaww!!" and then walk to the next ball. I know it's a sign of respect however show respect for the groups behind you! Ready golf requires each person to walk to their own ball and hit when the fairways or greens are clear. Remember that the rate of play is only as fast as the slowest on the course. This is just my observation and I will be glad to note that not all Asian golfers are this way. BTW... I can't remember the last time I got waved up on a par 3. With that being said the 4 star review is based on the course alone. The greens and fairways are consistent and well kept. I couldn't tell you how the bunkers are because I'm never in them but they look sandy! It's almost impossible to lose a ball because there is little water in play and the wide fairways help the wild drivers. They just got new charts that don't die on the uphill climbs and they are "Fat Man Friendly!" I didn't grade it higher because Marshals seem to be more worried about people bringing beer on the course than people playing slow. This has been my home course since 92. read more

Good LA area course. Pace of play is okay and course conditions are good. Big, wide greens, grip-and-rip kind of a course. Price is right and there's a nice Koreatown close by to load up on carbs after sweatin it out all day. Staff is friendly and there was no wait on a Sat morning. Watch out for random balls flying in, we overlapped a couple beginner groups and had some close calls with some slicemasters playing with range balls. Drove out from the Westside and it was 100% worth it. read more

Full disclaimer, I wrote this after waiting an hour to calm down before I wrote a thesis consisting of f-bombs and name calling. In 10 years of using Yelp I've never written a negative review. I'm patient to a fault and empathise with businesses, especially during COVID-19. However, golf at this course was the worst customer service I've ever experienced. My tee time was at 9:20 and I didn't get to start playing until 10:30, no carts and slow pace of play, gave them a pass because of taking extra time to clean carts between player usage. Second, no marshal to move players along and not turn each tee box into a personal driving range. After the 9th hole I stopped at clubhouse to use bathroom.....garbage everywhere and someone missed the inside of the toilet completely. There was s$#t on the floor and all over the toilet seat, again not their fault someone had explosive diarrhea, but not cleaning bathrooms properly is an issue. By hole 11 my cart, the one I had to wait an 1 hr and 10 mins for,, was dying and gave out at hole 12. Again, I took deep breaths and tried to be understanding. I called the pro shop and explained where I was and what happened. The girl who I spoke to said they'd bring a new cart out right away. The guys I was paired up with wete from out if town,, I told them I'd catch up....sunce my cart was coming, "right away". Evidently, La Mirada golf course time is normal time, plus 30 mins to1hr and 10 mins more. After waiting half an hour I gave up. I packed up my gear and walked back to the pro shop. Even at this point, I wasn't going to be a jerk, make a scene or swear off playing at La Mirada ever again. I returned the key to an employee in the pro shop and told them where thr cart had been left and asked what happen to the cart I was waiting for. The employee chuckled and said, "oh that's too bad...sorry". Again, I took deep breaths and walked away. As I walked away he called out to me and asked me to come back. He said his manager said I could have a free beer or Gatorade from the snack shop. At this point I lost my patience and expained what a cluster f$#k playing had been and a waste of $60.00 dollars and 3.5 hours. I didnt wait for a response and walked away before I let my built up frustration unload on someone who didn't deserve it. My recommendation is play at another course, unless you enjoy 30 mins a hole, walking half the course when you paid for a working cart, teeing off over an hour late or getting a "free" Gatorade for dealing with a poorly managed operation. read more

This review is for the golf course. Was able to get a 10:45am tee time yesterday (Monday) for myself and a couple relatives visiting from out of town. As we entered the parking lot, we were surprised how busy the place was. Green fees were $42 (good price) but after playing the course, we can see why now. They are renovating several holes and there was so much construction going on, especially on the back 9, that it was difficult to enjoy the round. They were mainly redoing several bunkers with huge tractors that made it noisy. Also, hole 11 is not playable as they have the greens closed. Many of the fairways had brown and bare patches. If you've never played here before, some holes are quite challenging in that you cannot see the green or do not even know where the greens are located (no markers, many elevated greens, along with dog legs). My relatives found this to be mildly annoying. The area around the clubhouse can get very crowded, especially with all the carts being parked. Also, at the turn, there was only 1 girl working the snack shop and it took us what felt like more than 10 minutes to get 3 hot dogs. They also had no spam musubi available even though it's on the menu. Not her fault at all, but rather managements. This delay caused the group behind us to go ahead to #10 and try to play past us. They were a 5some though - not happening on my watch. Another negative is the course Marshal did not have a water cooler on his cart. They do allow carts in and out of the parking lot, which is a plus. And I understand we are facing a drought which makes it difficult to maintain pristine conditions, but I think management can pay more attention to details and communicate better as well. It would have helped if there were signs regarding the renovation or if the starter had let us know. read more

We had our wedding reception here in 2014 and it was perfect. I wanted to wait for our photos to be done before we leave a review. Deb and Roxanne the events coordinators, were top notch. They were easy to talk to, helpful, and always willing to meet our needs. If there was anything we needed or had questions about, they were available to answer by email, phone call or visit. The venue was large enough to fit our guests of ~280 and they all had a great time. You can just look at our photos to see how beautiful it looked. This course is in horrible shape! The carts are maybe worse I've seen. It's $60 to ride here. So many other courses should be played before this one! This course should be $30 to ride... The greens are rough, dimpled, bumpy, dead spots. No such thing as a fringe here. It goes from 4 inch high crab grass to "green"! It's bad! The fairways are dead! Dirt patches everywhere that are rock hard! Sand traps are either muddy or have grass growing in them! What's funny is the greenest grass on the course, was growing in the sand traps! No such thing as a tee box here either... basically "fairway" (crabgrass) with markers! The range was so packed you have to wait 20min to hit! At least 10 of the range balls were gashed and split! Been playing here for a while and always book by calling them direct. This time was no different. When booking I made sure on the rate and special for breakfast which is around $36. I went in this morning and the cashier said he's never heard of the special before. So I let him know to make sure people know this when we book so people don't get screwed....he was polite about it. But that's when Matt, the supposed manager just interrupted and said that's what happens when u book thru a third party. I mention to him that I had called the course direct. He was very rude and was not wanting to listen to my story. Not very managerial but very much an asshole about it. read more

Theft by course employee!!!! Be careful when you finish your round and turn in your cart. The girl on staff working the carts stole my M2 headcover and Taylor Made SIM 8-iron right out of my bag when I went into the bathroom. Golf course is not in great condition and they advertise $15 per cart online but charge you $15 per person even when you are riding with an additional family member for 1 cart. I have never been to a golf course that are charging per head for the use of cart. Green fees + cart fee, la mirada really is not worth the money. read more

I don't understand how they're collecting and managing their golf balls. I'm writing this review because this has happened several times already and each time Im so disappointed! Growing up around this course, I have played here many times. Double-decker range is fun. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens are above nice. Yes, there are some dry and dying patches of grass due to the drought. And yes, high chance you'll lose sight of your ball near those hills. It's a good course...when no one is around. I always try to tee off before sunrise. I have played before during the day and I absolutely hated it. The pro shop staff and players show very little respect for the course and other people also paying to play golf. They seem to think they are entitled to special treatment. They then go out on the course and create divots all over the course and do not repair them. Just plain out rude and they lack golf etiquette. Most folks here do not play ready golf. You would think they're playing Tiger Woods for money. They take their sweet ass time on every. single. shot. You will NEVER be waved up by the group in front of you. And I highly suggest you golf somewhere else if you are a young female golfer! It is really uncomfortable getting looks from these old men and sometimes having offensive comments shouted at you. read more

We had my parents 50th anniversary party here. We chose this location because it was where they had their wedding reception 50 years ago. The planning started off great but the night of was a mess for my Mom. They used the wrong table cloths, they left us with a "Captain" who asked my Mom millions of questions through the night and then told her they were short staffed, why was that my Moms problem?? They had two years to plan, we booked it in 2019. He bugged her all night and didn't even think to bother me to ask questions even though I was clearly the one who he spoke to right at the beginning of the party. Then the bartender went missing and was replaced with a minor who wouldn't serve our guests. It was a super warm day and the windows had no coverings. Which left half the room warm and super sunny. Our guests were so hot and uncomfortable. My Mom was so disappointed. Never will we ever get that moment back. I really only gave it two stars because the food was really good and our guests loved the outside area. read more
