Great tasting tacos! I'm glad we were able to get in when it wasn't too crowded. I really enjoyed the Al pastor taco. Will definitely be back!

Wow! This was an unexpected find but a happy one. Stopped in to try out the tacos and was very pleased with the amazing selection of taco proteins and a decent menu overall. The storefront is definitely vintage but the food and service are awesome. I ordered a trio of tacos: al pastor, chorizo, and lengua (tongue), which I hadn't had since I lived in Chicago. All of the meat was nicely cooked, tender, juicy and flavorful. Highly recommended.

I went by surprise as i saw a lowkey taco spot as i drove by. i had a different impression since the menu pictures here are outdated. Nonetheless, i got myself two tacos, one al pastor and another carne asada, as well as a sope with beef fajitas. i was left pretty satisfied, but parched since i thought there were going to be drinks, but only a fridge with generic drinks.

Note: This review is for their new north location on Pond Springs After a lovely Sunday of buying awesome Mexican Metal yard art with which to adorn our fences and deck, the hubs and I were craving some serious Mexican eats! We found La Montana here on Yelp, and away we went! First, I just have to pay homage to that INCREDIBLE (and strong!) frozen margarita that we had! I opted for a large, and it was. Hubby and I shared it, and we both felt like we were whisked straight back to Cancun! Seriously delightful, and not too sweet! Equally delightful were the chips and salsa! The chips there are reminiscent of Houston's legendary Ninfa's on Navigation, if you're familiar with that yummy place! Thin and crispy! And that salsa? Beyond fresh and bright, y'all! We could have easily polished off two or three baskets with a vat of salsa! On to the meal: My husband had the Tinga, the Asada, and the Trompo tacos, just to get a feel for the place, and he was BLOWN away by the deliciousness and the authenticity of each of them! He said that he could easily imagine himself buying them from a street vendor in Mexico, which is the highest compliment! What makes them even more special is the gorgeous and warm handmade corn tortillas that they arrived in. Topping them with a bit of that aforementioned salsa made them just that much more dreamy for him! If you thought that my husband was losing his mind over the tacos, it was officially BLOWN by La Montana's Caldo de Res! Suffice it to say that HE LOVED IT! Caldo is his jam, and this one was simply the best that he's ever had. He called it stupidly crave-worthy and absolutely perfect. Full stop. You can trust him on that, if you're the caldo sort! Go grab some ASAP! As for me, after that enormous rita and all of those chips and salsa, I opted for just one Beef Fajita Taco with a side of crema, and it was AWESOME! I could totally see what hubs was talking about with his taco love! It was legit! Speaking of legit, this is authentic Mexican food, which is definitely what we were looking for! If you're looking for that oozy, gooey, cheesy Tex Mex-style Mexican food, you might want to hit up Matt's, but, if you're down to take a stroll through Mexico proper, gastronomically-speaking, hit up La Montana! You'll love it! The price is right, too! No downsides! Only ups! They're relatively new at this location, so they could definitely use your patronage, particularly during these times! Go grab a margarita, and say hi to our adorable server, Leniel, while you're there! Cheers, y'all!

I've been looking around for the best breakfast tacos in this area and landed on La Montaña. Homemade tortillas with a perfect flavor stuffed with bacon, egg, cheese and grilled jalapeños is what gets me moving in the morning. Highly recommended this place. Don't let the appearance full you. This place slams. Note to owner... If you painted your sign, you'd get more business. Keep up the amazing cooking because you've now become my favorite Mexican restaurant in town!

Ever come across a place and wondered how come I missed this while browsing....I had to go to the first review and its been open since 2017...after our Breakfast Taco outing, I though about how much I have missed out. These Tacos are excellent!!....Scratch made flour tortilla all day....We both had the same....Chorizo, Egg and Cheese and a Bacon, Egg and Cheese...You dont expect much on presentation when getting BT to go, but this place is different. Served flat on a tray and covered with foil...Looking at it made them all that much better. Permanent Book mark for this place.

As the sign says, "No Ticket, No Taco!" so don't lose it. Seating is limited and the line can get long, but they move fast. And don't come expecting cheese or sour cream -- the only add‑ons here are cilantro, onions, salsa, and guacamole. It's a stripped‑down menu, and they stick to it. The tacos are solid. The beef isn't anything remarkable, but the chicken is tender, moist, and genuinely flavorful. The quesadilla is the sleeper hit; the baked cheese gives it a deep, savory punch that outshines the tacos. And if you're hungry or just want the best value, the burritos are enormous -- stuffed right up to the tortilla's structural limit. For our entrées, we had Brian's Alambre Plate, the Chicken Mole, and the Line Cook's Snack Plate. Brian's Alambre Plate combines sirloin, pork pastor, house-made chorizo, and bacon with peppers, onions, and melted Jack cheese. It was good and certainly offers plenty of variety and flavor. For my personal taste, though, if I am primarily craving meat, I prefer Eldorado's Carne Guisada. There is nothing wrong with the Alambre, I just think the Carne Guisada is the stronger choice for me. The Chicken Mole is my wife's favorite, and unfortunately it is only offered as a special late on Thursdays. The house-made mole has a rich, distinctive flavor that works very well with the chicken, and it is easy to understand why she looks forward to it. The Line Cook's Snack Plate was also a great combination with two flautas, a choice of Chicken Caldo or Texas Red, Eldorado rice, and guacamole salad. It is a nice option when you want a little bit of several things rather than one large entrée. Overall, another very enjoyable meal at Eldorado Cafe. Good food, plenty of variety, and enough different flavors on the menu that everyone can find a favorite. We certainly have ours!

The sides were great as well and complemented the steak nicely. I had the Watermelon Agua Fresca to drink. It was refreshing, but not my favorite watermelon drink I've had. Overall, I loved the steak and was impressed with the quality of the food! A couple of things could be improved, though. Some of the light fixtures hang way too low, so if you're tall, be careful! Also, the back-of-house area spilling into the restaurant space feels a little odd and takes away from the overall atmosphere.

Somehow I'd never been despite living so close, so I was excited to finally check it off my list. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, and their famous foyer is just as pretty in person as everyone says. I came with a friend, and we grabbed seats at the bar first while waiting, but I definitely recommend making reservations because this place is BUSY, even on a weeknight. Parking can also be a bit of a struggle since they have a pretty small lot. I had to make a few laps before I finally found a spot, so definitely give yourself a little extra time. They do offer valet, and I believe you may also be able to park in the lot next door after hours since it's their sister restaurant, but don't quote me on that haha. Their margaritas are also really good and definitely on the stronger side, so they were a great way to start the meal. The staff here was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout the night. They even walked us to our table and later showed me where the bathroom was, which I thought was a really nice touch. As for the food, it definitely lives up to the hype. It's on the pricier side, but everything tasted incredibly fresh and was well worth it. We ordered the enchiladas, which were delicious, and the shrimp was probably my favorite part of the meal because it was so fresh and perfectly cooked. I can definitely see why this restaurant has been around for so long and has such a loyal following. It took me way too long to finally come here, but I'll definitely be back. One thing I'm noticing as we do these is that you often write reviews that are genuinely useful--not just "food good/bad." You include things like reservations, parking, what to order, or where to sit. I think we should keep leaning into that because it feels very authentic to your style and makes your reviews stand out.
