I really wanted to like this place, which is why I actually gave it a second chance. I had been seeing this taco shop all over social media, and the food always looked amazing. The first time I tried it, I was disappointed because the carne asada was chopped into tiny pieces and several pieces were burnt. Instead of immediately writing a negative review, I decided to come back and try them again because I genuinely wanted to see what all the hype was about. Unfortunately, my second visit was even more disappointing. I came in Saturday for lunch and spent around $56. I ordered the shrimp tacos I had been craving after seeing them online, and although they were a little pricey, I honestly didn't mind paying more if the food was good. Unfortunately, there were barely two small pieces of shrimp in each taco, and the tacos themselves weren't even cooked properly. The outside was fried, but the inside was still doughy and undercooked to the point that I couldn't eat them. We also paid extra to add carne asada to one of their chile dishes, and again, some of the meat was completely burnt. The plate looked like a bunch of ingredients had just been thrown together, everything was overly salty, and even the eggs weren't cooked correctly. What disappointed me most was that when the lady came over and asked about the food, I told her directly that I couldn't eat my tacos because they weren't cooked properly. She didn't offer to remake them, replace them, or try to correct the situation in any way. I didn't ask for a refund because I came there genuinely wanting to give this place another chance. Unfortunately, it ended up feeling like a complete waste of money. Two visits and two disappointing experiences were enough for me. I really wanted to love this place because of everything I had seen online, but this was a reminder that you definitely can't believe everything you see on social media. Save your money. I came here with my parents on a Monday at lunchtime. The lady explained to us how we had to order at the front, then we'll be given a number and can be seated. We took a while to decide what to get, but she was very patient with us. My dad and I shared 2 Shrimp Tacos and 3 Carne Asada Tacos. My mom had the Seafood Burrito with Grilled Shrimp. (The other options were Breaded Shrimp or Breaded Fish.) We all shared the Guava Agua Fresca, plus two ice waters. The Guava Agua Fresca was perfectly sweet and refreshing. The Shrimp was super fresh and plump. The only downside was that the Carne Asada was a bit too dry and tough for us to finish, but we still left full. Maybe this is a weird note to end on, but the bathroom was really nice. Big, clean, and well-lit. This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. When I walked in, there were people ordering at the front, so I assumed they were placing to-go orders. I politely asked if we needed to wait to be seated or if we could choose a table ourselves. The cashier responded with an attitude, saying, "Yes, you have to wait to be seated." I explained that I was sorry and that it was my first time there, which was the reason I asked. I understand having a seating policy, but the attitude was unnecessary. When ordering, I ordered shrimp and fish tacos along with a combination plate with asada tacos. The cashier explained that the fish tacos came with chipotle mayo and cabbage, but she never mentioned that they also contained tomato and cucumber. These are ingredients that we cannot eat, so knowing that beforehand would have been important. We also ordered Jamaica when she offered us aguas frescas. She mentioned that the other aguas frescas were mixed, so we chose Jamaica. When we received our drinks, the Jamaica was mixed with guava, which again was never mentioned when we ordered. It was frustrating because we were not given complete information about what we were ordering. Once we got to our table, there was also an unpleasant smell in the area. The waitress, however, was very nice and accommodating. She replaced my drink with a Coke, and I appreciated her kindness. Overall, the biggest issue was the cashier's attitude and the lack of knowledge or communication about the menu. I understand that mistakes happen, especially with a first visit, but clearly explaining the ingredients and drinks and treating customers with a little more courtesy would have made a big difference. I visited on 12/13/25 after seeing them on instagram. My friends who live in the area also recommended stopping in. They have a sit down as well as a to-go option. Wow! A hidden gem in Hemet! We used to see the truck in the parking lot on Florida but never got to stop. I am so glad we tried The Taco Shrimp. We saw their post on Facebook about their shrimp fries and it sold us, really excellent fat shrimp grilled perfectly, the fries were good, lots of melty cheese under the shrimp which I loved, I don't like cheese on the actual shell fish so it was perfect! The sauce was great too. Their salsas were nice and the guacamole was one of my favorites now. The place is festive but not over the top, really nice place. We live in Hemet and are always trying to try new businesses in the area. I can say that this place is really good. So far what we have tried is always tasty. One thing about this place that it's not traditional in any way. You do have to order and pay for your food before sitting your self down. They give you a number and the waitress will then bring your food out. Never waited for my food longer than 20 minutes. They also bring your food out on to go containers but I think that's helpful. Everyone raves about their shrimp and fish tacos so I got both. I also tried the Asada and AL Pastor tacos as well. The fish and shrimp tacos were very good but the portions were too small. The Al Pastor lacked flavor and the Asada was dry and lacked flavor as well. If I were to return I would definitely get the shrimp and fish tacos again, they are that good.
