I love, love, love Mexican ice cream shops and this place is no exception. They have a huge private parking lot that it shares with the other businesses in the strip mall that it is located. When I go there, the line was literally out the door. They sell hand scooped ice cream, Mexican candy, popsicles, tortas, banana splits, milkshakes, mangonadas, and horchatas. They moved the line quickly, but I had time to contemplate what I want. They have a wide selection of ice cream, some of which are rare, exotic, and/or hard to find. I never had kiwi ice cream, but I did that day. Those two scoops were some of the best ice cream that I have ever had. It tasted like I was eating straight out of a kiwi. I highly recommend it. I also got a mixed fruit horchata. It was pretty good too. It was packed with fruit chunks. It needed a bigger straw, but I made it work. I just took off the lid and ate the fruit that piled up at the bottom.....mmmmmmmm. There was a bit of a language barrier there, but I did not have any issues conveying my order. Whenever I am in the area I will be sure to stop by here and get me a treat. I highly recommend you seek this diamond in the rough out and do the same.

I've been to a few of these including the one in Woodbridge and also several of them in Illinois as I love that they offer a large variety of quality flavorful ice creams, huge scoops, and at a reasonable price. Sadly, this location isn't as good as my experience with the others. It doesn't offer as many varieties. I ordered my two favorite flavor ice creams (rum raisins and angel kid) same at other locations but it wasn't as flavorful. Also, the scoops was much smaller. Price was the same. Customer service was just ok, not as welcoming or friendly even though it wasn't at all busy in there. Would I go again- probably not because I've had much better experience at other locations like at the one in Woodbridge, VA and prefer to return there.

This place has something (addictive) that I don't know what it is. Great, great ice cream, good service, incredible flavor. If you are in the area, give a try, you won't regret. Keep in mind that you might have to wait a bit (most of the time, not always) due to the huge line of people waiting to order. Sadly, there's no tables available to get sit in, there's also no bathroom available (this day I reviewing it). That could down them to three stars, but the flavor of theirs ice cream and other stuff fulfilled those things unavailable. My favorite ICE CREAM is, NANCE, two scoops always.

    Sign outside. So cloudy!

A new ice cream spot for National Ice Cream Day! It's been in my bookmarks for a while, and what better day to go than when celebrating one of my chilly sweet favs? I pulled up in the middle of the afternoon and I saw people consistently going in and out. I thought the area was going to be a little more low-key... I guess I was wrong, oops! I parked and went in, anticipating the line. It was indeed all the way to the door, but it moved quickly! I should've taken a peek at the menus outside, as it was a little tricky to read them while in line. Not only were they small, but some words were in Spanish and I didn't recognize them haha. I figured things out relatively quickly when it was my turn though, but I had to ask about a couple of flavors because all the labels weren't visible. I decided on Tamarind w/ chili (tajin) almost immediately... the red swirls just looked stunning. I was stumped on a second flavor, so I asked for a recommendation... and kiwi was the winner. It made for a beautiful cone! First off, 2 scoops and a cone for $5 is a win around these parts for me. I was pleasantly surprised! Now, when I stepped out and started licking the cone is when I was REALLY happy. It was simply delicious... packed with flavor, and so creamy! Don't ask me to pick a favorite between the two, because that's way too difficult. I will say that I'm glad I got the chili with the tamarind... I just don't think it would've hit the same without it! I just want to go through all of the flavors now... they've got guava, mango, prickly pear, blackberry... so many! I wonder if they allow samples (I only skimmed other reviews, not sure if anyone mentioned it)... but if you're looking for a different approach to ice cream, I highly recommend here. Also, there's a popsicle equivalent to every flavor. They have toppings and some other food too, but I didn't try them out. Next time!

So many different flavors, and variety of items. It get busy.it was cheap, I got two scoops for 4.95

Little hidden gem! Came in and tried a little bit of everything: Mangonada: 10/10 (sweet and spicy mango flavored ice cream slush in a cup with mango chunks) must try. Tostilocos: 7/10 it's a bag of chips (of your choice, between Doritos or Tostitos) prepared with coleslaw, cucumber, lime juice, valentina, Japanese peanuts and some pickled pork rinds I believe - honestly get it without the pork rinds and you'll like it better. Gansito Ice cream: 10/10 - if you are a fan of the Mexican Twinkie (Gansito) you will LOVE this ice cream! Definitely coming back for this ! Horchata: 10/10 honestly the creamiest horchata I have ever had. It was SO GOOD! Service was quick, only down side was it was very packed and no place to sit to enjoy your treat. Also I have come here twice and both times they are sold out of chocolate bananas :( guess I have to come again!!

Looking for some authentic Mexican tortas well you found the place, I have been coming here for decades and there is no other place like it. The tortas are made on the spot, super fresh the bread is made fresh daily. And don't forget to taste some of the pasties and jellos they are my favorite. If your in the area make sure to stop by and taste the Best Tortas!! Las mejores Tortas del DMV!!!

Helado de coco, agua fresa, tamarind popsicle and the wrapped straw! Oh yessss!

This is a small and unassuming spot. If I wasnt told to check it out, I never would've known it was there. Went for my third visit the other day because I am a sweets lover and this place doesn't disappoint. I am a huge fan of strawberry ices and their agua fresa is like blended sweet strawberries then frozen. SOOOOOOO GOOD! On this visit I also sampled their coconut, which of course was delish so I copped a small cup. What really blew my socks off was their fresh juices. Being that I've seen this cooler with interesting stuff a couple of times, we inquired what is was and the flavors of the day. They had four in total and the one we ordered was the pina colada. When i say this was disrespectfully delicious? Almost obscene it was so good. Im so glad we only got one to share. Im SO stoked to go back for thanksgiving and get a few to spike with rum and share with the fam. I will be back with my family and friends to enjoy their deliciousness time and time again!

Their variety of ice cream is amazing!

    Banana split
    Jessica F.

Came to La Neveria Michoacana for a sweet treat and opted for a banana split. I chose 2 vanilla and 1 tres leches scoops topped with M&M's, peanuts, and wafers. It was delicious! The homemade ice cream stood out with its quality taste. I'll definitely return for more.

    Here is their menu.

If you enjoy fruit ice cream and popsicles, you can't go wrong with La Neveria Michoacán. The mango ice cream is fantastic and portions are generous- one scoop will do. Their chocolate ice cream was just OK. Stick with fruit flavors. Their horchata is also delicious.

These were the best popsicles I've ever had. Not too filling and not too rich, but very refreshing. It Seems like the person who is writing one star reviews for this place, has a personal vendetta against them. You won't go wrong with these popsicles.
