Reserved the back room for my granddaughter's after graduation party. I communicated with Diego and he was fantastic to work with he accommodated all my needs. Let me come in early to decorate. They refrigerated our cake while we went to the graduation. We had about 25 guests and everyone just loved it. The drinks are amazing. The food on point. The stuff was good would definitely recommend this spot for the good food, friendly customer service and the fact that I we had a private dining area was totally what I was hoping for! Highly recommend this place, fajitas are generous and staff is super friendly. On a nice day go out to the patio and enjoy the bay weather! Homemade tortillas make this spot legendary. The chips and salsa are top tier

We came in and you could tell this is a welcoming family atmosphere. There was a musician playing sad songs, and he was pretty good. It was some nice entertainment for a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't extremely busy which was a nice surprise as there's a church nearby, and we were concerned it'd hard to find parking. There's really only metered street parking, so it's hard to find a spot here. The fish taco was tasty although the fish could be a little more fresh. The beef crispy taco was delicious, and the meat was flavorful, although the meat was a little tough. The portions were all very generous! My asada taco was tasty, but I was too full to eat it, which is great news. In my opinion the guacamole was pretty standard and the chips were a nice complimentary plus. Their rice is delicious and tastes just like my childhood! This is a great neighborhood spot to have some authentic Mexican food.

Maybe I ordered the wrong item on the menu so I couldn't give four or five stars. As you entered the store, you would be greeted by staffs promptly. Seated by them unless it was non busy hour then you could pick where you wanted to sit. Chip and salsa is the freebie on the house. It's unlimited lol as long as you don't waste it. Salsa is what I like the most. I ordered Huevos Ranchero. Over easy was well done instead. There was no beans in them. Black beans came separately. It was not like stackable dish with slices of avocado and feta cheese on top. It was still ok. If I have a chance I would try Birria soup. I saw people chowing them down til the last drop. Let's the pics tell more stories. Sorry no food pics

We had a party of 9 for lunch and were seated in the covered outdoor patio. Very nice. The food was your usual Mexican foods. The pitcher was strawberry margarita was excellent. Most of us ordered mixed combos which was nice. Prices were reasonable. Wished they had fried fish tacos. Only had grilled fish tacos.

This was an authentic and quaint Mexican restaurant. I came by for lunch one day and ordered takeout. The waitress was friendly and was able to to answer all my questions. It was pretty quick and the food from the kitchen smelled really good. I love the packaging for the food, it was in a hefty container packed with the super burrito, chips packed in a bag, and some salsa. The super burrito was huge and I was able to make two meals out of it! Packed with chunk of Al pastor, guacamole, pico de gallo, rice, and beans. The salsa had medium heat and a nice addition to the crispy chips. The horchata was sweet and a nice taste of cinnamon.

    Super burrito, Al Pastor

This is hands-down, the best burrito in South San Francisco I eat a lot of Mexican food and everything else. This is just so perfect and fresh. Only reason I think this place is not talked about as much as it should be is because the pricing is absurd This burrito was $18 I'm crazy, for how it tastes I will be back, unhappy about the price, but I will be back.

The side plate of rice, beans, guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo for the fajitas.

Definitely feels like a favorite neighborhood place. Thanks to Yelpers we learned about it when we were visiting up in the Daly City / San Francisco area recently. Although it was my birthday, somehow others decided that we were going to have Mexican food. Oh-kay. Yelp listing after Yelp listing in the area were mostly taquerias. That wasn't what we wanted - we were looking for nice sit-down restaurant to enjoy our food and each other's company. After Google Maps took us on a strange route to get to the restaurant we were starting to wonder where in the heck we were going. By the time we got inside, we were concerned that we'd driven a long way for an unknown quantity. The vibe of a locals' hangout started to dispel the concern. Our server was friendly and helpful when we asked about various ingredients. I was able to find non-dairy options. Boy, it's hard to be in a Mexican restaurant and not want to consume melted cheese on various dishes! Dear Hubby and I ordered the shrimp fajitas. The style of saucing was heavier than we've had at other places. I would have preferred a lighter touch, letting the shrimp shine through. One order was plenty for us to share. Adored Grandson went for the chilaquiles, which looked really impressive. He enjoyed polishing them off. Oh, to have a teen's metabolism! This is a solid choice in a neighborhood with limited parking. Almost like being in the Avenues in San Francisco! They have a bar in the back of the main dining room, with several TV's tuned to sports events. They also have a second larger room to the side, which I imagine is used for parties and other special events. They keep it dark when not in use. If you want something with more variety than a taqueria, give La Nueva Perla a try.

Two years ago was disappointed with an order .....today Everything went well! Great friendly staff & delicious food! Had several bday celebrations there, especially my 70th Bday party last August - was awesome, lots of fun & laughter! Linen service with my Fav color was well worth it! Planning another party next month! Diego is your go to contact to plan a party!

The employees were fantastic, the food was okay, but prices were high and margarita had no alcohol in it. Eh, it wasn't all that great. I feel badly saying this, but we probably won't be back.

Don't let the picture fool you - these plates were HUGE!!! The house made sopes were so yummy, and I like how the combo comes with rice beans lettuce and tomatoes. The tortillas were extra fresh too, and they have several beers on tap, and a variety of margaritas to choose from. Service was very friendly, in this smaller spot in SSF, which has 2-3 TVs playing various sports / shows.

"Great hole-in-the-wall Mexican near SFO airport"…read more Came here for dinner at 6pm on a Monday night, based on good Yelp reviews. The place is unassuming-- has a thin stretch of outdoor seating and a handful of tables inside. Not super bright in lighting, and a TV inside was showing a baseball game. Seemed like a lot of the business was takeout, as people would come, hover, get food, and leave. I was GOING to order the fish tacos or a fish quesadilla, but I was swayed by the picture of a breaded fish plate special. My son got the carne asada quesadilla, and others at the table got a veggie burrito and a chicken bowl. Food came out pretty quick-- maybe around or just over 10 minutes (the fish plate and veggie burrito came out slightly after the other two). I was very impressed that the fish plate looked even BETTER than the photo (see photos of both). The fish was HUGE. There was a generous helping of guacamole, lots of fresh avocado slides, some onion and cabbage, etc. There was a nice bed of lettuce on the side with sour cream over it, and the rice & beans (covered with a thin layer of cheese) on another side. The fish plate was just delicious. The batter wasn't overpowering or too heavy, and the fish was excellent inside (and very flat). I really liked the sauce in a little cup on the fish, or having it with avocado or guacamole, or even straight. The rice and beans were yummy too. Such a great dish, and it was under $20 before tax and tip. My dining companions all liked their food, though my son said the carne asada meat was "just good" (he had a bite of the chicken and said that was better). The person at the register was friendly. And as mentioned, the prices were very reasonable. I'd happily eat here again if in the area. Great portion size, great quality, good value, etc. Enjoy!

The burrito had potatoes, but they weren't french fries. They were boiled potato strips. Kind of somewhat annoying when that's what I was looking forward to. Also, I ordered a super burrito, but it was more like a taco. Burritos here are really small so if you're hungry, forget about it.

The shrimp was a bit on the chewy side, and while everything tasted fine, it didn't totally wow me. The octopus tostada had good flavor, though. The agua de hibiscus was actually one of the highlights -- perfectly balanced, not too sweet and not too plain. Super refreshing and definitely something I'd order again. The ambiance is lively and energetic, especially with the singers, but it does get pretty loud. It's open seating, so you walk in and find your own table until someone comes by with menus. Service was okay -- not super attentive, but friendly enough. On the plus side, the food came out quickly, which is always appreciated. Overall, I'd give it 4 stars. If it were a little less loud and the service a bit more attentive, it would easily be a stronger rating. Still a solid spot for a casual meal!
