This place never fails! Doesn't matter if you're craving an authentic Mexican platter or some seafood, they do it all and quite delicious too. FOOD: I usually go for the tostada de salpicon which is a mixture of shrimp and octopus or a coctel de camaron, but today I decided to change it up. I got the camarones à la española which is shrimp with a sliver of bell pepper, cheese and wrapped in bacon. In opinion, the slice of bell pepper was quite unnecessary, but regardless the dish was pretty good. I've also had their taco de asada but I upgrade to the arrachera meat which is skirt steak and soooo worth the $3 up charge. Comes in a hand made tortilla instead of the small street style one too. As we were sitting at the bar, I witnessed the bartender making drinks and they just didn't seem appealing. If you want an alcoholic drink, I'd suggest sticking with beer, shots of tequila or a michelada because like I said, the bartender didn't really look like she knew how to properly mix or make cocktails. SERVICE: On arriving, the lady had us sit wherever we wanted. We decided to sit at the bar as there was a small band playing there Saturday night. Service was attentive despite them being pretty busy that night. PARKING Can be difficult on the main street, but there always seems to be something available. Stopped by for some fish tacos, an octopus tostada, and an agua de hibiscus. Overall, the food was decent -- not my absolute favorite, but still enjoyable. The shrimp was a bit on the chewy side, and while everything tasted fine, it didn't totally wow me. The octopus tostada had good flavor, though. The agua de hibiscus was actually one of the highlights -- perfectly balanced, not too sweet and not too plain. Super refreshing and definitely something I'd order again. The ambiance is lively and energetic, especially with the singers, but it does get pretty loud. It's open seating, so you walk in and find your own table until someone comes by with menus. Service was okay -- not super attentive, but friendly enough. On the plus side, the food came out quickly, which is always appreciated. Overall, I'd give it 4 stars. Then add the amazing staff and welcoming personalities, make you never want to leave. The sauce is spicy and flavorful with an odd after taste. I can't pinpoint it. The rice and beans are good but the salad has no dressing and the protein is over cooked. The Fish Ceviche and Shrimp Tostada were ok. The corn tortillas were great. Their Tacos, however, are really good. We had the Carnitas, Carne Asada, and Al Pastor, all made super. The meat was all flavored well. There was so much filling that I was able to split some with my tortillas to make another taco. My son had a flour Cheese Quesadilla. It was very large and so gooey. The cheese was of high quality, not oily, and melted really well. The cheese tasted yummy. My son loved his quesadilla. Their Cadillac Margaritas were outstanding. The Paloma was ok.
