Stumbled into this place while waiting for my brother fly in. We were looking for a beer and lunch, but were blessed with a unique (to us) food experience. Somebody's Honduran Abuela was cooking up the good stuff. Highly recommend the rice and beans and the star of our experience, Baleada de Carne. This is their version of a burrito (no rice or beans, but I got some on the side and added them). It's not really a tortilla, but more of the unleavened bread feel (like Naan bread). Behind the counter was the manager's personal hot sauce and it was fire. Great surprise and well done to my new amigos. I waited an hour and 15 minutes to get any food. Two parties that were sat AFTER us got food before us. I was 5 min from just getting up and leaving when we started to get any food. This place is a big NO. Food was so bland, the only thing with any salt or seasoning were the beans and they were a bit salty, everything else had no flavor. Fried chicken and pork ribs just fried in oil, no seasoning. Plain rice. Onions to decorate no flavor. This is one of the good restaurants in Miami for Honduran food. My s/o and his family are Honduran so I know when the food is legit. You can't go wrong with anything you order from here but my favorite by far is the Sopa Marinera... so comforting. Baleadas are also a go-to, as well as Pupusas... and although Pupusas are not technically Honduran, it's still worth mentioning that they make some of the freshest, cheesiest ones around. We've dined in and have also ordered delivery/take-out without any issues, so I wouldn't be discouraged from trying them out! read more

Great place to watch FC Barcelona games, visited for "el clasico" game on a Wednesday, the place was completely full and the waitresses were swamped, in spite of that the service was very good, our waitress super nice and the food was delicious. Just came for the food and drinks. It was hot as f! I was constantly sweating. The beans were nothing special, honestly on my lazy days that's exactly what my beans taste like. Not enough alcohol in the drinks. The ceibeño doesn't have that delicious sauce, it taste like tomato sauce watered down. The nance was good as always. The bathroom as my husband puts it has a grape nice scent though the ladies bathroom was a bit trashed. Overall I'll probably come back next year. The place could use some improvements. read more

If you like having to get up and chase down the server for what you need because she is too busy texting with her back to you for long periods of time, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, probably best to skip it. Food is okay, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. I can forgive delays when they are for valid reasons like a server who is juggling a lot of tables at once, but this was not the case here. My husband and I were this woman's only table, but apparently she had better things to do than her actual job. This is the second time we have been here. The first was unremarkable and this last one was somewhat infuriating. Luckily I had a little extra time for lunch that day. We won't be returning. read more

Wow I can't believe I'm the first to review, this place has been here since at least May or June. Anyway, I've been to MANY Honduran restaurants both in Miami and in Honduras... and this place has the nicest, cleanest interior of all the places I've been. I actually went here to watch the world cup final as they have many TVs and a HUGE projector screen to watch the games. (Whoops, forgot to review at the time.) They have several types of beer, and liquor also. They have the usual variety of Honduran food, and some other foods that are not really Honduran, such as rabo encendido. The reason I give 4 stars is that the food is Ok but nothing to get really exited about. I would recommend Patio Tipico restaurant just down the road for their food, but you should still check out this place for the beautiful interior and atmosphere. read more

I've been coming here since I was a little kid (back when it was Adelita's) and the food has always been pretty good but the restaurant itself wasn't so hot. Now it's La Palapa #2 and both the food and ambience are on point. These are THE BEST baleadas in town thanks to their super fluffy tortillas. They are big, fluffy clouds of pure happiness. The sopa de res is another favorite of mine and I order it almost every time, even though there's usually a long wait for it. The enchiladas and pupusas are the bomb.com. I've tried so many things on the menu and haven't been disappointed by any of them. The restaurant itself is super clean with lots of tvs and the occasional live entertainment, which is a huge draw. Service is a bit slow, especially on weekends when it is more packed. The waitresses have a tendency to ignore you and chat with each other by the bar, and they aren't the friendliest but the authentic and delicious Honduran food is worth the wait and worth catching a little bit of attitude from the waitresses. read more

Also ordered watered and was advised that I needed to purchase a bottle of water, as their well water is contaminated. If this is the case not sure how the business is fully operating. I love to eat pupusas and baleadas, but was never able to find a place that sells them both. I was amazed with how great the food taste. I ordered the baleada mega which was pretty big. Loved this place too the fullest. Came in on a Sunday afternoon to celebrate my birthday with my family. It was delicious! I'm Honduran myself, and the tortillas were to DIE for .. I ate a carne asada and my husband ate the Baliada combo with a chicken taco. The only small little issue is that they serve to little. I've been coming to this place way back since the 2000 and with the new ownership now, they totally rejuvenated this place to the fullest. Will be back soon to try for karaoke night! read more

La Palapa is one of my favorite places to get Honduran food, it reminds me of my Grandma's cooking. The food is Extremely good omg and everything is Cooked to order and always Fresh! If you're coming here for the first time I recommend getting the "Carne Asada" plate. You cannot go wrong at all. They have a wide selection of Soft drinks to beers. La Palapa is really one of those Hidden Gems. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because the customer service. I'm not big on Latin food but this place was great. I had the cena sin carne plate and had the Honduran nachos (loved it) and the pupusa. I found the food to be generous and well priced. I went on a Wednesday but I heard that it gets really rowdy on certain days with karaoke. The place was clean and there is plenty of parking. The food was authentic as I went with friends from Honduras. Service was fast and friendly. Dessert options are limited to basically tres leches and flan. Certainly worth a try. read more

Very disappointing! Service needs to improve. I was there a couple of days ago, ordered three baliadas con carne (beef), two to eat in the restaurant and one to take home to my wife. When my wife opened the package there was no meat. Their menu seems to be limited because they did not have traditional Honduran dishes like yuca con chicharon and pupusas mixtas because they didn't have chicharon. Tried to get a manager on the phone and was told that he wasn't there and that nobody was in charge. YOU MUST CHECK YOUR BILL, because gratuities are included but they won't tell you that. read more

The meat Baleadas are the reason my daughter and I come to La Palapa. The service is less than desirable you have to be loud to get a Waitress to help you or to come back to your table. You will see them walking around or talking to each other but seldom stopping. the reason I'm giving this review is mostly because of the customer service. I'm Honduran born and raised, and the food is very good so I have nothing to say about that. The service is what really gets to me. I know the place is usually empty but you would think they'd be more excited to finally have someone come in. it says "pedacito de Honduras" but most of the waitress and servers are Cuban... which is fine I guess but at least try to be nice. The food wasn't the best nor was it the worst. The only thing that did trigger it for me was the service. Took nearly 10 minutes for anyone to realize we were sitting down. Mind you, the restaurant was not full to the point of not having enough visability throughout the restaurant and 10 minutes might not seem like much until you are sitting in a restaurant without even a menu to talk about.
