This is definitely priced for special event dining, IMHO. My husband and I had an early dinner here for our 16th Anniversary. It was amazing! He had the filet mignon and I had the blackened steelhead - we shared bites of each others We enjoyed wine and prosecco. They asked if we were celebrating anything and then brought us the house special dessert which is in the shape of a heart. We also ordered a dessert that was similar to pecan pie only more decadent. We will definitely keep this on our list of wonderful, locally sourced food restaurants to visit again. Hope to go in the summer for their outdoor seating. And our waiter Garrett was very helpful and provided wonderful service.

Fabulous birthday dinner. Great waitstaff, delicious food, and excellent ambiance.

Great birthday dinner! Fabulous waitstaff, ambience, and delicious food. Larrupin never disappoints.

Charcuterie, board with your meal, goat cheese and locally sourced ingredients, fig pate, mustard very amazing

Food is so Dam Good! We spent 4 days traveling northern CA-THE BEST food our entire journey. The gorgonzola sauce on top of the steak with truffle butter was amazing! Yes, the salad with balsamic and bell peppers was really delicious. Nice surprise, charcuterie board with meal -beautiful presentation and it featured goat cheese from the local farm fantastic Figs, apples, pate, and mustard sauce, pumpernickel bread. Ambience is Smooth jazz and low lighting. If you're fine with the colder temps sit outdoors with warming heaters. Definitely a romantic evening with significant other. Jazmine our server did a great job-she worked hard. Be patient and tip well. This is a busy restaurant. THE only exemplary food we found in Trinidad! The area needs more places like this!!!! It is reservation only/smart to reserve your dinner the night before in order to get the time slot you want. I loved the experience and highly recommend dining here

What a fun experience! I can't wait to go back and catch them earlier! The ambiance is fabulous and very unique. Great place to sit and enjoy your company and the amazing food. Augustine was our wonderful server for the evening and he does a fabulous job. He's great at his job very knowledgeable and has a great smile. We felt right at home. Let's talk food - Appetizer board - wonderful flavors and "it's meant to be playful" loved the description of how to combine the items. Get the explanation of the food so you know what you are eating and where it came from! Yummy Half n Half - wow the meat is amazing and yes the brisket is a little spicy so be warned! The salad that comes with the meal is fun and perfect. Fish of the day - we went with steelhead and changed the bed to risotto. Can't go wrong the flavors were on point and everything was perfectly cooked. Vanilla crème brûlée- wow the top was amazing and crunch and the flavor was perfect including the texture. Signature desert- I don't remember the name but might have been a little too smoky for me. I like the textures and it was so cute how it was served. Lemon tart? The bomb! So worth it!! Oh and the music - I say on the bench and put on my shoes and thought someone might be inside playing a piano. Walked in and the sounds were filling the building and added that perfect swanky calming comfortableness to complete the evening. All in all I say a 10 and I'm hard on things! Okay so I didn't like the wine I picked but that's my fault no one else's! I should have asked to taste it before committing. It would be a great spot for a party!!

This is an excellent spot for a nice, classy dinner up in Trinidad! From the presentation to the flavors, you can tell they put a lot into creating a great dining experience here. I have dined on the picturesque outdoor patio, as well as the upstairs dining area. Meals include the appetizer board of cheeses, fruits, dips, and bread. The coconut shrimp (a special appetizer) was crispy and flavorful. I loved the chicken cordon bleu as well -- the sauce was creamy and the chicken was perfectly cooked and tender. For dessert this time we ordered the lemon tart pie as recommended by our server, and it was delicious -- a better cousin of key lime pie in my opinion. Service was great! I definitely hope to be back in the future.

We went here recently and everything about it was incredible. The lighting was soft and low, just the right kind of ambiance that feels romantic but still comfortable enough for a nice family dinner. The service was on point. There were plenty of servers, and they were consistent and attentive without hovering. Everything ran like clockwork. We started with the carpaccio and the coconut prawns, and wow, you will not find a better coconut prawn anywhere. The batter was crispy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. For the main course, I had the ribs and brisket. The brisket was absolutely to die for, melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The ribs had a beer-battered flavor that wasn't my personal favorite, but if you're a fan of beer batter, you'd be obsessed. My fiancé ordered the steelhead, and it was cooked to absolute perfection, tender, flaky, and seasoned beautifully. From start to finish, the experience didn't miss a beat. Highly recommend for date night, family dinner, or anyone who just wants a great meal with great vibes.

I was so excited that this place has a vegan option that is not curry. It is a family favorite and I ant wait for us all to go back.

We visited Larrupin a couple of weeks ago. I had been there numerous times over the years but my husband had been once long ago and didn't remember being there. Absolutely everything was perfect. We ordered a couple of grilled small Pacific oysters to start, which came with a tiny bowl of Larrupin sauce. The oysters were only slightly warmed and not really cooked - the briny flavor came through. The appetizer tray that comes with all dinners included house-baked rye bread, chicken liver pate with Larrupin mustard, tiny lightly pickled peppers, apple slices, two kinds of cheese, smoked salmon - I may be forgetting something. We both said we should really take some photos but we dug in too fast. There was an appetizer special of coconut prawns which they turned into a main course at our request. Those were not frozen-out-of-the-box prawns, but extra-large fat hand-breaded prawns. I've never been crazy about coconut prawns - it seems wrong to have sweet coconut coating seafood - but this was the best version I've ever had. We also had cordon bleu - chicken breast stuffed with prosciutto and Havarti cheese and topped with a marsala-mushroom sauce. I am a clean-plate ranger but that was the largest portion of chicken breast I've ever been served. The chicken was moist and tender. My husband had the sweet potato and I had the coconut-macadamia rice. He said the sweet potato was creamy and luscious; the rice went beautifully with the chicken. We also had a glass of Onward Sparkling Malvasia Petillant Naturel and a glass of Ferrari Carrano Fume Blanc, excellent wines both. It was my husband's birthday and he was given coeur de la creme with raspberry sauce on the house. I had the same. A very nice not-too-sweet ending. All around the meal, service, and atmosphere was outstanding.

My partner and I visited on a weekend afternoon for an early dinner. The ambiance and vibes were very dark yet super eclectic - there was always a piece of decor for us to talk about. We ordered the oysters as an app, half and half (brisket and ribs) and New York strip loin, and limoncello tart for dessert. The oysters were super tasty and fresh especially with a squeeze of lemon and dollop of cocktail sauce. The brisket was super tender and delicious (I also really liked the burnt ends) and the rib meat legit fell off the bone. The NY strip loin was super yummy especially with the gorgonzola and mushrooms on top. The limoncello tart was very tart (duh) but really helped to cut the heaviness of all the red meat we had. Our waiter Garret was super nice, gave us great food recommendations, and made our experience enjoyable! We'll definitely be back next time we're around!

Delicious food, great service, generous portions and wonderful gem of a cafe here on the coast. Love it!! I forgot to take picture of oysters and carpaccio appetizers. Booo. Only down side is no cell service and that stink when game 7 of World Series is being played while you are there. Lol I love that all the meals come with a charcuterie tray too

So yummy! My girlfriend and I went here for our anniversary and it was so lovely! Cannot recommend the chicken wrapped in phyllo dough enough! Service was great, and prices made sense for the quality of the food ($150 for all) . Only critique I have is that it's a bit awkward when you first walk in since the waiting area is so small.

This was easily the most amazing dinner I've ever had! The ambiance was incredible, with great service (our waitress was so sweet and explained everything in great detail)- it truly was an amazing date night. We started with their appetizer board that comes with dinner, along with grilled oysters (they had them as a special) and the rosemary roasted garlic app. Everything was delicious and then our dinner came out which was perfect timing! The steak was cooked to perfection and truly could not have been better. Dessert was crème brûlée and a slice of chocolate pecan pie (also amazing). I have driven past this restaurant many times without ever realizing that this gem was inside! Truly worth the drive up to Trinidad and we will absolutely be back. Humboldt County is lucky to have Larrupin as a dining option!

The staff at Trinidad Bay Eatery were all exceptionally kind and appeared to genuinely engage with their guests. The atmosphere is exactly what one would hope for in a coastal eatery. We ordered clam chowder, fish and chips, and a chicken ciabatta sandwich. The chowder was excellent and among the top chowders I've ever enjoyed. The fish and chips were plentiful and the quality and thickness of the fish were unmatched. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her sandwich and fries with a California branded malt vinegar. We HIGHLY recommend stopping by!

Okay, fine -- maybe dogs aren't allowed in certain areas, not a big deal. So we figured we'd just order the food to go instead. Nope. Two days in a row we were told they couldn't do takeout. At that point, it just felt like there was zero flexibility or willingness to work with customers. That's really disappointing, especially for a place with such a good reputation. Unfortunately, the lack of flexibility is what lost us.

Perusing the menu, I decided to "shoot the works", so to speak, and go for the shrimp and crab omelette. It comes with cheese, but I chose not to have the cheese, and instead of potatoes I had fruit. There was a one dollar upcharge for the fruit, not a big deal, but I wish they would've told me about it. The food comes, and it is amazing! They were extremely generous with both the crab and the shrimp, and there was also just a little bit of mushroom in the omelette. The shrimp were tender, and the crab was so wonderfully savory. It was an absolutely amazing omelette. Next time, I would ask for it with a little bit of cocktail sauce on the side, because I think that would just totally put it over the top. But I am not complaining about this breakfast at all. The fruit was very nice, very fresh pieces of pineapple and melon. It also came with a wonderfully flaky biscuit with honey. What a breakfast! The breakfast wasn't cheap, the omelette was $29. But when you consider how much crab and shrimp they stuffed into that thing, it was more than worth it. I would gladly come back for that omelette, and to try more things on the menu as well. Thank you again for a great breakfast.

Good, beets were a bit over done for my taste but the buratta with the pistachios was very good. We tried the clam chowder and were not disappointed. This is what chowder should be, velvety and rich. You could taste the clams which were tender and sweet. Exceptional chowder! We ordered the crab fondue and were not disappointed! Creamy crabby deliciousness! My only critique would be the bread could have been more bite sized but I just cut mine and enjoyed every bite. Partner had fish and chips. Good. Rockfish was fresh and tasty. Tartar sauce was ok, I prefer mine a bit herbier. We also had Fettuccine with chicken and Alfredo. Chicken was seasoned well and cooked perfect, still juicy and tender. Alfredo was very good. Fresh fettucini was not so fresh, that was the only real disappointment of the meal. If the menu says fresh pasta my expectations are high and this was not fresh. It may have been made in house but not today. I wanted the scallops but they were out, owner said they are on him next time... I would come back either way. This is fine dining but not stuffy and over done. The prices are what I expect at a restaurant if this caliber and the service and food met that standard. We ordered crème brûlée to go, and it was packed in small boxes that we didn't open right away. When we arrived at our Airbnb just 8 minutes later, we discovered it was not properly placed in a sealed container (like an aluminum one, as expected). Currently, there's not a lot of smoking of fish going on, but there absolutely is fresh off the boat just caught for you, fish to purchase, along with a couple of different versions of canned fish. This is the first time that I've spent $20 for a can of tuna ( see the picture), and I would do it all over again! It is that delicious. I'm usually pretty hoity-toity with my canned tuna selections, but this really upped the game for me, and I absolutely will not look back. It's not oily, it's not packed with a bunch of unnecessary water, it's just amazing tuna in a can. I also purchased, salmon, smoked, salmon, and sturgeon. We can't wait to try them. We made tuna salad, and literally there was none left. If we could have scraped the bowl even more than we had, we certainly would have.
