The best clam chowder of the entire north coast! So light and flavorful! Served with a side of sour dough and seasoned butter. Yum!

The food was awesome! The service was great even though they appeared to be under staffed. It took quite a while to be seated but we are glad we waited. We have been trying seafood up and down the coast this weekend on our girls trip and this place wins hands down. The halibut was light and flaky and delicious! It didn't need to tartar sauce but those of us that prefer it loved it. The sauce was super light and lemony! Super surprise! The clam chowder was not that thick pasty stuff with potatoes that you get at most places, this chowder was light and tasty, carrots, celery, and such a delightful consistency. We are so happy we came back to Jacks! We were recommended to Sea Grill, we went to find it and couldn't find parking for the homeless. It is not a great situation down there. So it ended up being a happy outcome. They have outside seating too and the prices were reasonable!

Very good food with fast service and a very nice view. The clam chowder was very good the crab melt was good and my daughter got the fish and chips and it was awesome definitely worth the stop for a good meal

One day in Eureka.... husband wanted oysters and this was the recommendation we got from a local. parking easy. view spectacular! right on the water. only 1 person working when we arrived (2 by the time we left). there is indoor and outdoor seating. The temperature and view was much nicer outside. Service was very friendly. She was able to answer drink questions so well (found out she started as a bartender). We loved our food and drink. I've already recommended this to my son who lives nearby. Looking forward to another visit.

Stopped by here with my parents during a coastal trip. This ended up being one of my parents' favorite meals of the trip. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Unfortunately it had drizzled so we stayed indoors but the outdoor seating was great, overlooking the water. We were here kind of at a dead time so there wasn't many customers. Had really great seafood options. Loved the cioppino. It was better than what we had up in Portland that cost waaay more. Service was also great. The waiter did also have his lunch while we were there but was really good about coming around and making sure we were satisfied with everything.

Great place for fish. Reasonable prices and friendly, attentive service. Nice inside and out with views of the bay.

I came for late bunch and got Brazilian stew and clam chowder. The chowder was not memorable, but the coconut and tomato based Brazilian Stew was pretty good. I wish the fish was a little bit more fatty but it is a personal taste. The cost reflect the location with a view. The staff were excellent, checked on me multiple times.

Food was great! We ordered off the adult and children's menu. The children's chicken nuggets are dinosaur but most kids do not care. I had the grilled halibut it was delicious. My daughter Had the children's fish and chips and said she wished she had gotten what I did. Hubby had the halibut fish and chips and what I tried was delicious! I ordered clam chowder which I did not receive, they gave me some to go which was fine since I was full anyway. I tried it the next day and it was delicious. Most clam chowders are more of a potato base but this clam chowder is definitely for those who want more clam than potato. They are very busy. Small establishment. Would definitely go again

Sat for 20 minutes not acknowledged at all. 3 other people in the restaurant. I know it's tough out there but come on, yall. Tried to give this place a second chance but apparently they just don't care. Avoid!

Easy to find restaurant next to the bay. Lots of close parking. Had lots of guests and only 1 server-he was very busy but welcomed us/was very helpful answering all our questions and giving us suggestions even though he was super busy. I ordered the fish and chips with a delicous macadamia nut porter. The drink came quickly he brought the can and a glass. The meal came in about 10-15 minutes. The fish was excellent and the chips looked hand cut and were crispy and tasty. I will definately stop here again when I'm in the area.

There's a nice list of California regional wines by the glass or bottle, and a local selection of beers and hard cider. It seemed that the biggest hit of the evening was the deserts. To a table on the night we dined, everyone was eating the desserts. My only regret from the evening is that we didn't eat the desserts because we had to go in a bit of a last minute dash. Our server was very pleasant and let us know the special of the day, a halibut dish with a creamy pepper sauce. Debating between that and another dish, we asked her recommendation and she suggested the fish. So we did it. My wife and I traditionally split meals at restaurants, because they generally give you so much food, you leave uncomfortably stuffed. We prefer leaving comfortably satisfied. So we split the Arugula Salad. They bring complementary bread with a garlic butter or basalmic and olive oil. We preferred the basalmic. The garlic butter wasn't very garlicky. But the salad was excellent. They split it for us for a small upcharge. The Halibut was excellent. We had to split it ourselves, but that was not a problem for us. It was served over couscous and was excellent. A bit small to split, so we added a cheesecake dessert with ganache. Very good. We paired it all with a Cabernet from the Oakville area of Napa (where we had just visited) and it was excellent as well. Our server was attentive. The pacing of our meal was very well done. Not too long between check-ins, but also not rushed. We recommend!

I did the Snapper Almandine which was so good so amazingly delicious, I would absolutely eat that again. the polenta side tho was probably my favorite of the night, so crispy on the outside and soft and tender inside, flavor was amazing .
