Second time I've been here where I've tried to speak Spanish to the waiters and they laugh in my face and speak English to me (while speaking Spanish to my boyfriend) because I don't look Mexican enough for them. The fact that this has happened twice is an issue as these were two different male servers several months apart. It costs NOTHING to be kind and speak to someone learning a new language. I'm not trying to make fun of you, I am trying to learn your language to better understand your culture. The waitress we were given after being laughed at (who was white and knew no spanish (not an issue but clearly purposeful)) was very very kind to my friend and I. I don't know her name but she was the only waiter who was kind to us. Tell your employees to learn to treat people with respect and not basically be racist. read more

I'll start with the food. I have been on this kick of trying quesabirria tacos any chance I get. For the money these weee the worst so far. Hardly any meat in the taco at all. First of all, I love coming here. The bar area is very nice but sometimes it can be very loud for what it is. The food is pretty okay. Prices are pretty high for the meals. The drinks are good and some of the bar staff is friendly. I would recommend for a date night or to grab a drink or two, but plan on spending at least $40+. read more

I've been here a few times. Food is pretty good, and the atmosphere in the bar is great. I get the price of avocado is high, relatively. But if you were to slice a $3 avocado in half, and then create 5 equal parts on each slide of that avocado. One slice of that is what they put on the street taco. One slice is what is charged an additional $3.50 for each taco. The street tacos are good, but don't get the price gauging avocado to place on top of it. Well, I haven't been there for a little while and my wife and I went on a Sunday afternoon like we used to go back in the day and sit out on the patio area. On sunny Sunday afternoons many people used to be there and we would see a lot of people eating and enjoying their meal on the patio... We went there today on a beautiful sunny Sunday and nobody was there. We were wondering why nobody was there... the food and service was good and then when we received the check there was an 18% service charge on our bill. This was new and we didn't know they started charging this fee....Our bill before tax was about $51 and some change after sales tax and the service charge. I think it went to about $64 dollars and some change.. Then the bill still out lined tip amounts too.. The 20% amount would've brought the total bill of $79. I'm a little sad because I liked the restaurant. It used to be fun. In the past... It seemed like a reasonable amount for decent food and now it doesn't look like we'll ever be going back again. read more

Stopped by on a Friday night. Boy has this place changed. Acoustics are so horrible you can't even talk to your dinner partner and carry on a conversation. We just gave up. Food seems to be more expensive than at other Mexican Restaurants and now they give you 2 small bowls of chips and salsa and it's 3.00 for another small bowl of chips and salsa. 17.25 for a burrito and 18.00 for a salad. 18.00 fir a drink os highway robbery. Talk about a rip off. Our waiter barely even spoke to us and would not even look at us as he took our order. We were looked at as an inconvenience rather than paying customers. When our food finally came it was mediocre at best. 45 minutes and still no food. We will not be eating here again and would discourage anyone else too. Suggest you try Casa Ramos in Centralia off Harrison. Much better service and more affordable. Great early bird dinner too. read more

We were there for 1 hour. We did not get service for 45 minutes plus. When we mentioned that, the server got very confrontational! He asked us to calm down...are you kidding me...just ask us how we are doing in a 40 minute span. We had not ordered food yet only had 1 drink that was ordered from the bar..smh!!! So me and my fellow patrons went there the day after being told by the owner to go back and take the review down and the tab was on him. None of that happened! We ended up spending $300....blows my mind...why would anybody go back and spend good money. I was in town for a couple weeks visiting my sister. I found this place close to her and I just loved it! Great selections on the menu. I returned 2 more times and even brought my sister. Half off Cadillac margs on Mondays! We sat up at the bar top each time and we were always taken care of by Lalo. He was awesome, knowledgeable and SUPER friendly. Decor in the restaurant was unlike any other. It has a Dia de los Muertos type theme. Definitely a fun place for a weekend night with the music. Definitely recommend! read more

Such a disappointment. Service was extremely slow and, when the entrees finally arrived, they were cold. Over-priced everything and quality was simply low. Skip the Patrona nachos. $17.00 for cold queso on stale chips in a fancy bowl. No quacamole or salsa on the side--nothing fresh. Minimal shredded chicken. Free chips and salsa were better, but never refilled after three hours in the bar. Enchiladas Banderas (almost $20 for three tiny enchiladas and cold rice and beans) were clearly re-heated from frozen. Sadly, they also appeared to be most-interested in making money from liquor sales. We saw several customers who were clearly over-served, while they waited (and waited) for their dinners. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food look somewhere else cause this ain't it. The place is beautiful, the vibe is great, super clean but the prices are outrageous. We got three orders of food, no drinks and paid $75 which would've been fine if the food was actually good but we were so disappointed with the portions and there were literally no sides to the fajitas, no guacamole, sour cream, nothing literally nothing... They only gave out three cold tortillas. Most of the food was cold honestly, and not well cooked. I've had a lot of Mexican food and this is by far the worst I've had. This place used to be an El Sarape, it has been modestly updated. We had a number of small issues that just added up to a low rating. Altho they give you the happy hour menu you can't order food off of it unless you are in the bar, so, why give me the menu?? It's a bit pricey for somewhat over cooked Mexican food. My chicken chimichanga came with ground beef, sent it back, but had maybe 3 tablespoons of meat in it with some watery cheese product. The carafe of sangria cost more than ordering separately would be. My enchiladas were chicken on a very small tortillas, the size of a taco bell tortilla, came with rice and beans $16. Overall we were there for almost 3 hours. It wasn't till the end did she apologize for the wait as they are short staffed. Had to ask multiple times for water and soda refills as I assume she forgot each time (20 minute wait in between any sort of drink refill) also asked for more chips and salsa to which never came. She also charged me for two margaritas, when I only had one. But after being there for 3 hours and really just wanting to go home at this point, I sucked it up and paid for 2 margs. This place used to be an El Sarape, which was always hit or miss...not bad, just...not good. But since the new owners took over, the whole place has undergone some much needed changes (the old icky carpet is gone!) A lot of the menu items are very similar to or the same as the old El Sarape, but the TASTE and quality of the food has improved a lot. The staff were all friendly, and it feels family run, and local, which I really prefer supporting, especially right now during covid. I didn't try any alcohol, so I can't judge that, but the street tacos were really good. I'll go back. Probably quite regularly. read more

Very authentic Mexican food. Like all northwestMexican food choices, the spices are very mild compared to restaurants near the southern border, but this place has the goods. Service was amazing and the drinks were strong. I had a Mojito that was to die for, and my fiancé had a tequila sunrise. The burritos and chimichangas are quite large amounts of food, we ended up eating half and taking the rest home. The drink price was lower than most places, especially considering how strong the drink was and how tasty. The food was good quality, and great quantity. We liked the atmosphere as well. Easily split between two people. I ordered the 3 item combo, again wished I had split that with some one... too much food for one person. The tamal was ok. A lot of masa to meat ratio. The Chalupa tasted like a gordita from Taco Bell. I had ordered a small cup of pozole (again not knowing I was getting such a big plate) but it wasn't soupy at all. It was more of a thicker sauce. Tasted like a pork stew (that's not a real pozole). I was disappointed because it wasn't brought out before my meal either. It's supposed to be an appetizer. It wasn't a great first impression.
