This was not a professionally conducted colonic. My sister was required to operate the colonic herself with no prior training or explanation that it would be self-administered. She was given a massager and told to turn the water on and off on her own during the session. This was extremely uncomfortable and distressing for her. There was no clear disclosure before the appointment that this was a self-service setup. A procedure this invasive should be handled by a trained professional with proper guidance and informed consent. If this is a self-operated service, it needs to be clearly stated before booking so people can decide if they are comfortable with that. This experience did not feel safe or professional. read more

If you're looking for something super high end and fancy then this place ain't it. I've struggled with gut problems for years due to stress. My holistic doctor recommended I get a colonic years ago and my coworker told me about this place months ago. Last week I was feeling very bloated and disgusting so I decided to give this place a try. I called and there was no answer so I eventually got a text back from this place. I scheduled an appointment and later came in waddling and Debbie took me in. I was hella nervous and didn't know what to expect but she made me feel very comfortable. They responded with sending me their website or I could continue texting them. So I asked them what were the risks with doing a colonic and I was simply told to go do my research on the process. I went in yesterday for a colonic. I had one years ago but it was a different system where someone else controlled the flush. This system was way easier and comfortable, the tube is smaller and you're in control of the flush. Debbie was very comforting and informative. She explains everything as she doing it. After a crappy first time Colonic at Hudavi Welness Spa (feel free to read the review I left for them), I was not going to give up and continued to research to find a place where I could experience a colonic. La Paz had good reviews here and everyone seemed to sing Debbie's praises so I made an appointment based off of the Yelp reviews alone. So I will say that after a horrific first time with a "closed system" colonic, which uses an insertion speculum that is the size of a DRY ERASE MARKER, I was thrilled to discover that the insertion tube for an "open-system" is as she stated on her website "the size of a pencil." I would reccomend that anyone who is doing a first time not only come here, but where ever you go, do the open system! That way if you get overstuffed with water, you don't risk suffering painful water bloat or having an "explosion!!" lol. The thing I learned if if there is a problem or emergency and you need to get up, it's going to be much easier to do with the open system, than the closed one. Debbie is just a down-to-earth, educated lady who knows her stuff. She used to be a nurse so she has an understanding about the digestion system that goes beyond your typical Colonic "tech". She was great with the abdominal massage and also has a hand held message tool that you can use on yourself when she is out of the room. So here are some tips when you go for your colonic: 1. Be prepared to meet her pet parrot or cute little dog that sometimes is there 2. She will offfer you an electrolite drink or a probiotic after your treatment 3. If you don't like traditional lubes, and prefer something organic bring your own (I use Super Salve, Angel Baby Bottom Balm or sometimes I will even make my own with a combo of sheabutter, cocobutter, coconut oil and essential oils--) I will never go anywhere else for my colonic needs and if you ever go here, I doubt you would either. read more

I had the most unprofessional interaction with someone I am assuming is the owner or scheduler of La Paz Spa. First and foremost she refuses to conduct any conversation over the phone and requires you to text. Second, she is rude and lacks customer service or accountability. Kim, the employee, I encountered in person did tell me not to come to my appointment and to wait a week. I agreed. The owner, name unknown, text me stating she had a $60 no call no show fee and would not reschedule me. It is clear Kim and the owner did not communicate. The owners instinct was to lack customer service and make no accommodations without taking into consideration that her employee told me not to come. Owner then text me that "Kim will take blame" truly a red flag. She may not treat her employees well either. Kim does not need to take "blame" their was simply a lack of communication that needs to be worked on but not at the CLIENTS EXPENSE. read more

I usually do not take the time to write a 1 star review. But the with many egregious errors and problems I felt the general public should be aware. First I have been holistic for over 30 years and do acupuncture, and spa days regularly. My colonic guy moved out of the state so I was looking for a local place to get a colonic. When I called last week. I got the run around with whomever I talked to saying this was a cell and she was out of town and would get back with on scheduling. (Instead of most businesses have an organized booking system and a secretary). I never heard back. I did text and call 1 time over the weekend. No call back. On my Monday I got through I booked a colonic appt at the Seal Beach location for 12:30. When I arrived I was appalled by the set up. I heard a parrots or birds yapping so loud in the room behind the waiting room. The waiting room was also in disarray and disorganized. An Asian woman finally opened the door and didn't know who I was. (Serious unorganization). I gave my name 3 times. She then handed me an electronic fill out form which I could have easily printed out online and had done .. the the establishment would have been organized enough to inform me. The woman who greeted me was a bit gruff. I didn't get a good vibe and obviously she didn't look healthy. Not a good sign for a spa. As I sat there getting a head ache from the yapping bird. I was thinking. Who the hell would bring an animal into a colonic space? Feathers/dander is not conducive to a clean/quiet/healing detox environment. It was just craziness. I didn't comfortable being in the space. I left. Usually when someone advertises as a SPA.. Once expects a clean quiet healing environment. Sanitary.... Not a claustrophobic disorganized waiting room. No plants, no fountains or healing energy. Maybe this is fine for the average public.. It is completely unacceptable for me. And an attendant who can't even remember the appt. or name. Also unprofessional of the owner to text back .. that she is out of town, can't get reception on her cell. etc. Excuses.. excuses. Of all the decisions I have made in my life this is by far the best ever!! I was so skeptical and reluctant to get a colonics treatment but I was desperate to lose weight and inches and the treatment did just that. Being in the military we have to maintain our weight and sadly I gained the COVID 15lbs. With the daily running, healthy eating and exercising the last couple pounds were stubborn and being mid 40's it is harder to lose the weight. For $77 and a 45 minute session you can have old waste and undigested food removed from your large intestine using the Libbe machine. So having a pencil size tube inserted up the anus is painful, right? Wrong. Although it sounds pretty shitty, it's uncomfortable at first but it's not so bad. Having it done so many times, I've become a pro at it. If you need help sticking the tube inside, the staff is great and will help you. Don't be shy as they are used to having the "shittiest" job. Once the session has begun and the tube has been placed up your anus, you can lay down, relax and watch the elimination ejected thru a clear viewing tube. WHAT GOES IN MUST COME OUT! Don't be surprised to see tiny pieces of those Ding Dongs, Twinkies, Cheetos, Del Taco, McDonalds, Street Hot Dogs make it's way thru the tube. It's definitely not a sight you'll want to see but keep in mind parasites, harmful toxins and trapped fecal also get removed in this ejection process. I would highly recommend La Paz Spa. I did colon hydrotherapy when I lived in Nashville a few years back but have not gone to one in California since moving here. However after several weeks of constipation, incomplete bowel movements, bloating, and chronic foul-smelling gas (my poor husband and dog!!!), I knew I had to find a colonics place and get all this junk out of my system! It was making me miserable, bloated, and I was struggling to lose any weight (due to the old crap weighing me down). I read the reviews on Yelp and thought they were pretty accurate. Also the location of the clinic was convenient for me. Beware of the loud bird on the other side of the door who has a human-like voice. That bird is very chatty.... Debbie was very nice and funny. She definitely helped things "flow" more easily, no pun intended. Lol. Debbie does a great job walking you through the process and helping you with the colon cleanse. If you've never had a colonic session before, you have to put your fears and pride aside and consider this a medical necessity! Due to the American diet and what most restaurants put in our food (even the "healthy foods"), we all have toxins in our system affecting us in different shapes and forms. For me, my sensitive stomach has a lot of physical side effects to not eating clean most of be time. For others, diseases and even mental side effects can result. Therefore it's important to take good care of your colon. Your future health depends on it! Yes, you have to stick a tiny tube inside you and as warm water fills you up, you also have to "release" multiple times. I won't lie - it gets really uncomfortable and sometimes the cramps are too much. But the cramps are all signs of gas being built up and wanting to be released. So you have to look at it as a necessary inconvenience for what we have done to our bodies over the recent days/months/years. The attendant won't be there the entire session, but she will check on you from time to time and assist as needed. You can also push the call button for her as well. I was done in about 45-50 minutes. I felt sooo much emptier and the bloating had gone away (you do have a lot of water in you but it'll go away on its own). Also I don't recommend eating spicy foods or doing anything strenuous afterwards. Use it to relax and rest your body. It's been through a lot :) I would definitely go back and may just go every quarter or so just to keep things in check. But if my IBS constipation comes back, I'm definitely going back to the clinic! read more

Just finished my first visit with Debbie. I feel compelled to write a review. I had a very positive response to the colonic here. I was comfortable and Debbie is very knowledgeable. I love watching all of the crap come out of my colon I feel somewhat euphoric and cleansed now. I had only tried this once before at Hudavi and it was uncomfortable and awkward. I hopped on yelp to find a new place and am so glad that I found Debbie. I don't feel comfortable around people in general, but she made me feel at ease. She has a bird that talks and also a little puppy in the shop. For some reason, they distracted me and put me in a zen kinda place. Also, she has a tv above the bed that you can watch during your procedure, I chose not to because I wanted to see what was coming out of me. I had such a pleasant experience that I already booked a follow up appointment. I am generally healthy, but sometimes I get constipated when I travel and eat bad. I was having sharp sensations on my left side of my tummy, Debbie knew just what it was from and recommended stuff to help with this in the future.
