This place is a hidden gem, the food is outstanding the best Chile rellenos. It tasted like the ones my Tia used to make us. The chips and salsa and so good served warm and that salsa thick and great flavor. Friends had the carne asada torta and caldo de pollo, and nothing was left behind. I don't normally write reviews but this is definitely a hidden gem. My boyfriend and I came for dinner around 8pm. The ambiance was great, they have a family section for those coming with kids and a karaoke side for those who are interested in singing and dancing. Our server was Karen, she was very helpful and welcoming. We ordered the fish ceviche and enchiladas suizas. Both meals had lots of flavors and we will definitely be coming back. read more

"Oh no! What could improve?" A LOT.. if I could give ZERO reviews I would. 1. The workers, the girls are extremely rude they seemed to be annoyed. One specific girl (Long hair, hair pulled back into a ponytail with 2 braids) that said a snarky rude comment to my bf that didn't sit well with me. They had a straight annoyed face with us, meanwhile they were being smiley and giggly with other tables. Mind you, when we came in we were in a good mood, ready to eat BUT as soon as we sensed the rudeness from them ofc OUR attitude changed. 2. Wait time was INSANE! We got to the place around 9:45PM, ordered around 10PM & didn't receive our food until almost 11pm. Almost an hour to get the food! I would definitely not recommend this location to friends/family considering the poor service, should've read the reviews before coming here tbh. read more

My husband and I have gone to both the one in Downey and the one in South Gate, and found the same thing in both... the karaoke DJ is FOR SALE. Let's start from the beginning.. both places have a minimum consumption fee per person; something like $25, so we order dinner and drinks. For Mexican food, it's not that great, but we come for the Karaoke. As other reviews have pointed out, the service is pretty slow, even when it's not that busy. Drinks take a long time to come, so we've learned to re-order BEFORE we finish the one we have. The ambiance can be fun, IF no special events are happening. You'll have your regulars, who can sing, others who THINK they can sing, and nubies who are drunk and want to sing for the first time. It's all very entertaining and part of the Karaoke experience. There's a sign-up list and a TIP jar, but the DJs totally control who sings. They favor and kiss up to whoever gives them the biggest tip. So... there's that minimum consumption fee AND the Karaoke "tip" (about $10/song) if you expect to be called up again. I wish they would just charge a flat cover fee. Another thing that bothers me is that the DJs at both venues, and a waitress in Downey, sing throughout the night, disregarding the customer sign-up list. Patrons who frequent the South Gate venue can get roudy, banging the salt shakers on the tables instead of clapping. There's also entire sets of dancing music instead of Karaokeing in South Gate. The DJ in downey needs to "read the room" when he plays intermittent music, while he looks for the next karaoke song. Lastly, I've had to notify both venues that there's no TP in the restrooms, which I didn't find out till after using it...ugh!! read more

This place is ok it's a neighborhood type restaurant, bar They have three sections the less noisy side facing Imperial, the middle which is the bar Happy hour is from 3:30 to 6pm.the Third part nearest to parklet is the loudest it is where the DJ is and where they have Karaoke.The drinks are good dont know about the food because you get faster service if you speak Spanish.i you dont mind waiting if you want a cheap place to drink I dont like waiting for food service so cant review the food because I wont be waiting.i might come again in the middle of the week to try the food read more
