I took my girlfriend on a Saturday night, it was off season so I didn't think we should have to wait and we also called ahead. Atmosphere- The Restaurant was very nice, immaculately clean with white tablecloths on all of the tables. The clientele was all elderly people, I'm pretty sure we were the youngest by 30 years but sometimes that's to be expected in Florida. We also found it odd that the was a tray of desserts on one of the tables in the front when we first walked in, more about that... Food- The fresh baked bread was out of this world, they brought it over with a caponata which was equally as impressive. We each had a bowl of soup, my girlfriend had the pasta e fagioli and I had the minestrone. Both were superb. The owner came over and made a joke about them being Progresso so I really did a taste test, he was joking as I could tell the vegetables were fresh. I had the risotto and my girlfriend the clams and linguini dish. There were large portions and it tasted phenomenal. All was cooked properly. We were too full for dessert and each took a box home. Service-A fellow who I believe was the owner served us. He was very nice. Everything came out timely and hot from the kitchen. The only thing that I didn't care for was his trying to push dessert on us after we said we were full. He came over with said dessert platter which I mentioned earlier. I understand all is made in house but I never like the used car salesman gig... Overall we will be back and the restaurant is one of the best! read more

I had dinner here last night! What an authentic Italian restaurant. The owners greet you, treat you like family and the food was AMAZING! Check out my yelp review for some photos. This is the kind of place you go with the recommended dish. I did just that and the veal chop didn't disappoint. Then the homemade appetizer was out of this world. Oh now onto the dessert all home-made in house by the owner herself. It doesn't get more authentic than this. Who ever knew they made a Cappuccino Creme Brulee. OMG I said I'd have one bite and the plate was empty. So the place itself is also another reason to go. It's very inviting and makes you want to bring your family back for another experience. Best real Italian food in Pompano Went on a Wednesday nite and the place was packed. They sat the 3 of us without a reservation and the meal was outstanding. Fresh baked bread, Brucheta, Fried calamari, a great bottle of Gavi, and good service. My son had the shrimp special, my wife had the Shrimp Franchese and I had a veal dish which was delicious. We had a cappuchino and a coffee and shared a ricotta cheesecake. The bill was $158 including the bottle of wine. Very satisfied and can't wait to come back. read more

We got curbside takeout due to our own personal preference from COVID-19, and we were blown away by La Perla di Pompano. We received very kind service throughout the whole ordering and pickup process. Our food was OUTSTANDING with ginormous portions. We got a meatball appetizer and the meatballs were delicious. One fettuccine bolognese was large enough to feed two people. The mushroom and truffle risotto was also HUGE, with small truffle pieces shaved throughout. (It was bigger than my head). We also thoroughly enjoyed the veal Marsala dish as well. Our whole family though that La Perla di Pompano was a highlight of our trip. Everything about this place is absolutely outstanding, from the food, wine list, service, and atmosphere. I was very impressed with the choices of Italian wines by the glass (all of which were excellent that I had) and even the pre-dinner bread which was served with a yummy chunky tomato dip. Wow! If there was a TEN on the rating scale, La Perla Di Pompano would get it. This is the best food I've had in a long time. Their motto is 'Life is short, eat well'. Indeed, you eat very well here. I had the seabass, deboned at table side with side of mixed vegetables as my entree with a starter of the calamari. They just opened up so I had the place to myself, but I'm sure once word gets out it will be hard to get a table. Parking is not obvious, as it's in the back of the restaurant and the back entrance looks a little sketchy. But it's well lit and a short walk to the front entrance that faces the main street. All I can say is, if you like great food, you have to try this place out! read more

Two of us took advantage of their weekly winter menu, which was sharing one appetizer, one salad, two entrees and a shareable dessert. All for $68.00! It was great! My husband had one of the Veal dishes, I don't remember which, but he said it was one of the best he's eaten. And he's very picky. As a local I have passed this restaurant a zillion times- what a shame its taken me years to try it. It was Amazing!! The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. we shared the weekday dinner special , $58 for 2 people, includes a shared appetizer (we got 2 big rice balls) a shared caesar salad (plenty for both of us) and we each got our own entree. I ordered the bolognese with linguine , it was so full of meat and delicious! We then shared a huge slice of the lemoncello cake. Have been there twice found food and service to be great. Great waiter, owner/manager not as nice. Two times tried to get a reservation and was turned down. On another occasion went there at 530 on weekday (no online reservations available)) 4 of us walked in 7 open tables and were told no reservations, can't take you. A month has passed, I just called for reservations tomorrow, reply for what time and how many, we said how about 630 for 6 people and was told nothing available for 6 any time. Really? If there was nothing why ask how many and what time? We go out to eat 2-3 times a week, La Perla you don't want our business, no problem. I am done, will never go there again even if free. The service was impeccable, the food was amazing from the bread to the appetizer continuing into the main entre and when you think it can't get even better ...the dessert tray the Limoncello cake was heaven on earth! La Perla had been recommended by a friend just prior to the pandemic and unfortunately it was a couple of months before we were able to dine there. Let me tell you, it was well worth the wait!! We called early in the week to make reservations for Saturday night and thankfully we did! It is not a big restaurant to begin with and with every other table blocked, the seating is limited. We were happy to see that almost all of the useable tables were full though. This place is a gem and I am happy it looks like the clientele is coming back. We were greeted immediately upon walking in and the service levels throughout the night remained top notch! As everyone has previously mentioned, the complimentary bruschetta was excellent and the warm freshly baked bread in the bread basket were a really nice start ( go hungry and take a night off from low carbing !!). After reading previous reviews, we knew we had to order the calamari, zucchini and shrimp starter and it was just a good as advertised. This is a very generous portion for an appetizer, so we had some left to take home. Next we moved on to the entrees. I had the Chicken Milanese and my husband had the Veal Saltimbocca. Both dishes were prepared perfectly! My husband has been searching for a good Veal Saltimbocca in south Florida for years and he has finally found it! Three bites in and he was already talking about coming back! Right now though, we are happy that we had some leftovers to bring home and enjoy today- again portions sizes are huge! Go hungry!! Along with our meal, we enjoyed a nice Barbera from Piedmont with our meal and although I usually don't drink Italian wines, it was excellent and paired perfectly with our meal. Ok, so I've had a few people recommend La Perla di Pompano and wow, just wow!!! First, the on the house bruschetta. DELICIOUS!! We then started with the zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta and some calamari, shrimp and zucchini fritta. Crispy, fresh, making you feel like you're in Italy in nonna's kitchen. Next the Ravioli de Aragosti (Lobster Ravioli) with shrimp in a decadent creamy saffron sauce. For the hubby, lamb chops with the best potatoes and veggies I've tasted in a while. Why stop there??? Let's finish it off with a cappuccino brûlée and limoncello cake. To boot, the service is impeccable. The ambience is relaxing yet classy but also feels like your at home. Gianni, our waiter, speaks various languages. Came by the table to check on us just the right amount of times and our glasses were never empty. There's no rush so take your time and enjoy your meal and some conversation. Intimate, familiar and fantastically and deliciously homemade. Going back next week for moms bday!!
