First time I have ever come here due to a Peruvian friend who recommended it. I was not disappointed! The food portions are really big and the prices are descent for the amount of food you get. My fiancé and I shared a fried rice with shrimp and meat. It tasted really good, the only thing is that I wish they would of put more meat and shrimp. I feel like most of it was rice. A gem. The service was great. The jalea yummy. My dad got a mixed ceviche and loved it. The desserts great. I strongly recommend the suspiro limeño. The locale had a friendly atmosphere. This restaurant was recommended to me by multiple people when I vacationed in Miami. They said their ceviche was the best, but I never thought I liked ceviche because I'm not a huge fan of raw things and was skeptical about raw fish being "cooked" with lemon juice. I still gave it a try though and it was DELICIOUS. We got the mixed seafood ceviche as an appetizer, and then got the grilled seafood platter that was recommended by our server. There was calamari, clams, muscles, and HUGE octopus legs. The octopus legs were definitely my favorite! Everything was seasoned and cooked PERFECTLY. I've been coming to this place for years,and it was always good , but now everything is different, our server a Colombian girl she was super nice , nothing with her , but my food sat in the kitchen for a while I looked at it for a very long time , when our waitress came to the table I ask her if that's my food the one waiting in that counter for a while waiting for I don't want it , it's gonna be cold , and I'll send it back , she brought it right away , the onions were missing and it's was cold , I came with a friend of mine and he finished his ceviche while I waited and waited , he felt bad eating alone , the waitress offer to change it I didn't wanted in the beginning, it wasn't her fault but I couldn't eat it, she brought me another one it was a Jalea Mixta , this time was smoking hot with the onions but full of calamari , almost no fish and no shrimp, I was very disappointed, told her about it but she can't do anything about it , sorry guys but I was a regular but not anymore, there are plenty of Peruvian places to go now read more

We are here tonight and I was pleasantly surprised. I picked the location simply because it was close to The Zoo. Alex was an amazing server. I was in a party of 10 - some of the others had never had Peruvian food before. He promptly took the orders for my children first (without even being asked), and then came back to give recommendations to everyone else I our party. The grilled octopus was delicious and tender. My son's chicken breast was tasty and juicy. I ordered something and based on Alex's recommendation, I had the green spaghetti instead and it was so great that everyone else on the table also wanted to try it. Loved this place. Excellent food and good service even at a busy time. Its not fancy. Its a mid range Peruvian restaurant in a strip mall. It was super busy at 3PM on Saturday. Most patrons were locals of Latin American ethinicity. I cant tell you if the food was authentic, but it sure was yummy and fresh. I had the rotisserie chicken with two sides, my brother had the Lomo Saltado, and my mom had the fried grouper fish with two sides. The kiddos had the kids grilled chicken with rice and fries. The food came out fresh, hot, and delicious. The prices are between $10-$20 depending on your selections. When we arrived there was 3 big parties in front of us and the staff was really good about keeping us informed. We we were sitting in less than 10 minutes. The food was amazing. We had a fish ceviche to begin and both a chicken saltado and a lomo (beef) saltado. Great portions and great taste. The rice had a particular garlic hint that fell in love with. The service was around but not pushy, which I hate been hovered around every 2 minutes. This place was absolutely divine. A little hole in the wall in the far off reaches of west kendall, this place is a gem. Every single dish was 5 star quality, however there was only one downside. I would give this place a 4 1/2 star rating if I could. The waiter was really friendly, but way too pushy. For example, I wanted the drink chicha morada. He offered to bring a pitcher, but I insisted that it was only me in my table of 15 that wanted chicha morada. Then he brought out samples to convince everyone to get the pitcher. At the end it was still only me that wanted the drink. So we ended getting the glass that I initially wanted. He did that once again with the lemonade with two other people in the table, one wanted it unsweetened and the other person wanted it sweetened. He insisted on a pitcher again. Because he was being pushy, they just got the pitcher. Foodwise everything was absolutely delicious. The lomo saltado was cooked to perfection and very hearty and delicious, the ceviche was divine along with the mixed rice and mariscos. Very flavorful, had great texture and was seasoned to perfection. We consumed two desserts (which I forgot the names) which was basically a dulce the leche heaven and another which was light and fluffy and tasted like a cloud. This place is amazing. It's been awhile since I've had a restaurant experience quite this good. The Order: Crispy Fried Mixed Seafood Fish and Shrimp Ceviche Fried Yucca Sweet Plantains Sangria I'm just gonna start off and say that everything was bomb. Even the complimentary bread was great, I wish I knew what was in the creamy green chili sauce got that was so good. The fried seafood plate was delicious - a huge plate that was large enough to serve two with pieces of calamari, fish, shrimp, onions, corn, tomatoes. We got the fish and shrimp ceviche after eating the fried seafood which was the perfect counter to the fried meal. It was light, refreshing, and again delicious. Flavor was on point and the citrus cut through the greasier food we had just eaten. Lastly, the fried yucca - awesome. Forget french fries, yucca is so much more interesting texturally and in taste. And the sweet plantain was a not what I was expecting but a great surprise. I've only ever had fried plantains fried that were not sweet, this was soft and had a outside crunch of sweetness that I had not had before. Service: I'm not the person that generally cares about service when I'm eating at a restaurant - but it must be said that our service here was beyond great. The moment we were sat down the server asked if we would like to be served in English or Spanish. It was pretty clear that we were probably the only non Spanish speakers in the establishment so that was actually really nice of them to bring that up. Next when we ordered the sangria the server asked us to try it first and see if we liked it, and offered to bring something else if we did not. What?! I've never had someone do that before. We were pretty hungry and ordered a ton of stuff - but the server warned us that our order was huge and that it might be good to see how much it was first and order more if we were still hungry. This again you don't see often since a restaurant generally WANTS you to order more but it was clear this guy knew us fools were getting in over our heads with food and warned us haha. He ended up being correct and I'm thankful that he did so. Overall one of the best dining experiences I've had in some time incredible service. Excellent Peruvian food. ...this place is always packed and for a very good reason! this one is a keeper folks! we had a craving for ceviche and decided to "go the extra mile" and it was well worth the commute... if you live in Miami and craving some good ceviche, this is one of the best in town! This place is located on the SW quadrant of one of the most busy intersections in West Kendall and the parking is not the most accommodating but even if you have to park far, do so and be ready to enjoy a good peruvian meal! the staff and server are attentive and always available but perhaps not the most personable or friendly but then again, perhaps it may the language barrier but as long as you can point to what you want on the menu, everything will be fine... don't forget to try some "chicha morada" which is natural fruit drink that is actually quite refreshing and compared to other places I have had, this version is not as sweet which for me is perfect... the pricing is a bit on the high side but understandable for the type of food they serve which is mostly seafood related and as for me, I would rather pay more to ensure that the food standard is high and fresh than to pay less and risk food poisoning which will end up costing your a lot more at the hospital! ...that's some "food for thought" there and yes, that was quite intended! =) we plan to come back and try out the other dishes like arroz chaufa (chinese style fried rice a la peruvian), chupe and lomo saltado (steak served over bed of fries and drenched in brown sauce) and by the looks of it, you can't go wrong here! enjoy folks! read more

Why... WHY.. has no one mentioned the Jalea?! If you've eaten here and haven't had the jalea..then I don't know what the hell you're eating. Seriously, just get it. So disappointed in LA perla, I went the other day and there was a hair in my rice of the ají de gallina that I ordered, I told the waiter and he asked me if I wanted a new one, I Said sure I'll take it to go, the problem is that instead of giving me a new cup of rice he took out the hair and packed it along with the new ají de gallina, I can tell by the amount they packed and also by the picture your about see! Soo disgusting, I've been here soo many time and told alot of people to go there but after this experience I'm soo grossed out by the lack of professionalism that I won't be going anymore. La Perla always delivers! I went with my dad today for lunch and came out happy as usual. My dad had the seco de res, a peruvian dish that has beans, rice and meat , the plate looked huge! I had the chilcano (a fish soup) and causa de camarones (a dish made out of potatoes and shrimp ...it was soooo good. Of course we accompanied our dishes with a cold inca kola (peruvian soda). The taste of the food is always outstanding and the portions are quite large. You can easily share an entree. I strongly recommend it. A bit expensive compared to other peruvian restaurants but worth it. read more

Right to the point- I have tried multiple items in this menu: ceviche, causa, lomo, chaufa, chicken... I have yet to try something that I do not like. It really is hard to pick one item so almost always I convince everyone I'm with to order something different so I can have a little taste of everything. If you want to share get la jaela mixta- and make sure you have the chicha morada- super refreshing! Service is always good even when it gets super busy they greet you with a smile and take care you as best as they can. Downside? Although this restaurant is located in one of the ugliest strip malls in Kendall, the food is superb! I have tried several of their dishes and have NEVER disappointed. Every bite is fresh, well seasoned and delicious. The Seafood Jalea is one of my favorite off the ones I have tasted in Peruvian restaurants around Miami. The only item I didn't really like was their rotisserie chicken, but that's sold through the take out side of the restaurant. Aside from the delicious food, the service is impeccable. read more
