This restaurant was nice quaint little place. Went here on a Friday night and was seated upstairs. There was an aperatif, appetizer, main course, and 2 bottles of wine-one red and 1 white. We ordered the salmon in butter sauce and the French onion soup. They served little crackers that were like Ritz crackers. The French onion soup was to die for. Rich with a good amount of cheese and croutons. Not salty at all. The salmon melted in my mouth and the potatoes were like a pie with layers of potatoes stacked up. Butter sauce was whoooooo!!! Some other guests tried the ball steak and said is was great. I would return to try other dishes. read more

Back again today. Never great, but always good. Had the onion soup, skip it, you can find better. Had the smoked salmon with dill spread. Very tasty with the toast and light after a day of other things. A bottle of Badoit (water) and a glass of red and white and on to the main course. Lamb for me and salmon and cod for my friend. The sauce on the fish is butter based and heavy but correct and the lamb had a potato cake that was great. I had the mango and black current sorbet. Truly delicious and I recommend as a finish to heavy meals. The coffee was just what I needed. All together $125. read more

Excellent traditional French food, but don't be fooled--it is fresh, delicious, and, as of my last visit in July 2016, updated to include fresh vegetables (not something you used to find in French restaurants!). I want to echo the sentiments of many of the other reviewers. The food is well executed and traditional French fare. Its a safe option restaurant with reasonable prices which is probably why it is popular with tourists. I found it to be a great introduction to what French cuisine has to offer and enjoyed it although it wasn't the best meal I had while in Paris. It is very small and cozy as befitting its old pedigree, but still very charming. If your French language skills are not very good, like mine, there was a waiter who was able to communicate in English which helps as well. The onion soup is great and although a pedestrian dish, is still nice on a cold Parisian night. read more

The front looks like a little house and drew us in immediately. Friendly staff and the most affordable dinner we had in Paris. We opted for a bottle of cote du rhone, duck with peaches, and lamb shank. Best lamb I've ever had and the duck was incredibly flavorful. Highly recommended! read more

This was one of the most disappointing meals we've had in our two weeks in France. My duck was chewy, and my wife and daughters all had the sea bream but said their tongues felt odd. Overall it was just a blase experience. The service was good and the waiters were very nice. read more

I was in Paris for 5 days and had dinner here twice. It is the best meal I have probably ever had (beef bourguignon, melts in your mouth) and the salmon was also amazing. Escargot and the dessert custard with caramel sauce was mouthwatering. Highly recommend this charming restaurant. Don't miss it. Yummy!!! Our hotel recommended this place for a last minute dinner and it was great. Very quaint and kind of looks like you are eating in someone's dining room. It was a little hard to find but it is worth the trip. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. I got the cod and salmon with sauerkraut dish which was great. Definitely recommend. read more

Tried to review every notable restaurant we visited while in Paris and realized I was remiss in forgetting this one. I'm not sure I realized it was the oldest restaurant in Paris when I was there (although it does clearly state it on the menu, apparently). It is very cozy and the service was excellent. I had the salmon and cod dish. I've never had that combo before and it was quite nice. I think it's a great place for a date or to catch up with friends over a delicious meal. We stopped for dinner at A La Petite Chaise. It was OK, food good, service was rather indifferent. In fairness, a US couple who were having their last night in Paris decided to come back. For whatever reason, they got a lot more attentive service than did we. The restaurant is one of the oldest in Paris, has nice charm, yellow (Provencale) tableclothes, etc. We may have not had better service because we asked the Matre de fto order rather than the correct waiter. It seemed to irritate him. I don't hold any animosity for the place, it was OK, but wouldn't go back with the infinite other choices here in Paris. Unlike some of the Bistrots and other cafes/restaurants, this place seemed to cater more towards tourists than locals. It was an OK value, not that expensive. read more

The food was good but not great. For Paris, and for the prices, one expects great. One star was lost for the uninspired food. The other star was lost because the menu posted in the window was not actually the menu available. Several of the items on the menu in the window -- the wild boar, the white chocolate mousse, etc. -- beckoned us in but then were not available that day (or even that month). We did not feel comfortable leaving at the point we found that out and stayed but felt the restaurant had pulled a pricey bait-and-switch. read more

Wow, food was incredibly amazing!! Had the three course meal they offered for 36 euros, turned out to be amazing! Came in super hungry and left with a full stomach and couldn't even finish the delicious creme brûlée dessert they had. Overall, great service as well and although it was a smaller restaurant, can definitely tell it was more upscale and overall great experience.
