This is okay restaurant. Prices are very reasonable but the quality is not completely there. I ordered frog legs, sirloin and apple tart. It was very difficult to cut the sirloin. Frog legs were not the best either, but the apple tart was good. Staff were very friendly. The ambiance was very good and lively for a Thursday night.

Our local host introduced us to this place after an 11-hour flight from California. The reason for the 4-star is the value of the 15€ lunch prix fixe menu. Yes, of course there are better versions of these dishes at the bistro and brasserie stars of Yelp, but you're going to pay a lot more than 15€. Médallion de Bloc de Foie Gras de Canard: Looks small, but is super rich and creamy. A little goes a long way. Love the jam on the side to sweeten up the bites. Margret de Canard: Not any sort of fancy roast duck breast, more like pork belly style cuts grilled up on a skewer then covered in a delicious peppery cream sauce. Once again, quite deceptive about how filling the duck and the fries are. Tarte Tatin: Quite a satisfying ending. The caramelization on the apples were just perfect.

Dessert fruit salad and I forget the name of the other one but sounds like isle fountain

$12 approximately for a 3 course meal per person and you definitely get what you pay for. I thought the bread was stale and hard when it came to me but it was served with butter and I ate every piece of it, so couldn't be so bad. I thought maybe they keep their prices low because they have a deal with someone about to throw away day old bread they might get it for free. My mussels tasted a little bit like body odor at first, it had a soft texture which I never experienced before and I wondered if they had been washed because of all the sand and grit present in them. Regardless I did eat all. The main course I got was a steak and it gave me a work out to cut into but again I ate every bite. The dessert we got was a fruit salad not fresh but edible and the kind I got I forget what it was called but I ate it all in spite since I had already made the most of my meal by eating every bite for best value. What I would say is the best part is watching the horror on my husbands face as he said to me "you know what this tastes like, when a person is first learning to cook French food" and continued to entertain me when he searched reviews and thought all the good reviews are definitely fake. Recommend if you have a good sense of humor, are not worried about falling down treacherous stairs before or after a meal, and can handle your eyes watering from a nearby cheese wheel on fire smoking when a table orders raclette. Leaving this review as a person who honestly loved this mediocre affordable food in a memorable way. Cheers! Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

I got an entree, main dish, and ice cream for a total of 10 euros. Although the food didn't impress me, I'm happy that I got to try two new French dishes. The escargots de Bourgogne tasted really buttery but not much else. I typically eat spicy lemongrass escargots so these were underwhelming. They provided me with a clamping tool which was nice. It was my first time having beef bourguignon and I didn't like it at all. I think it's the dish itself not the restaurant. The beef was plentiful though. I dipped the bread they gave me in the stew which made it easier to eat the stew. The ice cream had two flavors but nothing else was special. I should've picked a different, unfamiliar dessert.

My wife and I came here during our honeymoon almost 4 years ago, for our final dinner of the trip. It was memorable and we had to return! This place, set inside a tourist trap in the Latin quarter, didn't change a bit. The dinner combos were decently priced, and I felt the food was good for what you pay for. I had the onion soup, coq au vin, and crème brûlée - all pretty tasty. The coq au vin is probably going to be too salty for a lot of people, but I liked it, especially when sopping up the sauce with the bread. My wife had the bœuf Bourguignon and the meat was nice and tender. Her ice cream dessert was cool in that it was neapolitan, although not very dense like the higher quality types. Nice ambiance and quick service. The stairs going to the 2nd floor are steep and a little scary! 4 stars for the combo deal and sentiment value.

We ate here twice in the three days that we were here. We thought the food and service were both great. They offer a great pre fixe menu of either 10 euros or 15 euros which we thought were very reasonable as compared to the other restaurants in this area. The portions were very generous and the food was good. We enjoyed the frog legs in a tomato based sauce. We also loved their beef bourguignon. The beef wasn't too tough. The charcuterie appetizer that came with the 15 euro meal was huge! All in all, we had a great time here and will definitely come again if we are ever in this area.

Excellent little bistro. It wasn't my first choice but Bistro 1 was closed. I had the foie gras as an app. Very nice with a sweet jam. My main was coq au vin. Great flavours. Avoid the toilet. Its tiny and dangerous to get back from. An hispanic staff drives the floor. Quick and efficient

Amazing first dinner in Paris we went for a restaurant we happened to walk by that caught our attention and scored! Aside from the popular raclette that you can have melting by your side during dinner, La Petite Hostellerie offers amazingly priced dinner sets, fondues and hot stone plates for you to cook your meat at your table. We got the fondue, foie gras, and a 3 course meal and it totalled to 45€ altogether for the flavor, the decor, and the quantities - very worth. The atmosphere is so fun and the hosts are very nice Yes they speak English

We keep coming back ... the food is really delicious and exceptional quality for an exceptional price! €10 or €15 all inclusive 3 course meals as a choice. This place stays busy but always has room. Right near the Musee Cluny on Rue de la Harpe. The service is terrific and all staff friendly and very nice! Rates 5 Stars all around!

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

On the other hand, it made me realize that my mother was a terrible cook. Bistro des Augustins is a small, cozy venue offering both indoor seating and terrace seating near Pont Neuf. It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.

Didn't blow me away, but was solid with the creaminess of the sliced potatoes and emmental cheese combined together with mixed vegetables. The cheese was very strong though, so anything else was unfortunately pretty much overpowered by it. We started with the ratatouille and freshly baked bread, both simple but incredibly well executed and full of depth. The duck steak with roasted potatoes was perfectly cooked--the duck tender with a beautifully crisp exterior, and the potatoes were exceptional in their own right. The gambas flambées with rice were a standout dish: rich, aromatic, and genuinely memorable. For dessert, the chocolate mousse paired with strawberry soup was a highlight and a unique combination that worked surprisingly well together--the richness of the mousse balanced beautifully by the freshness of the strawberries. Service was friendly and attentive throughout, and the restaurant has a lively, bustling atmosphere filled with both locals and visitors, giving it a classic Parisian energy. No real plans. Just walking. Cigarette smoke in the air, scooters passing narrow streets, old stone buildings glowing under soft afternoon light. Online, this place feels impossible to book. But show up 10-15 minutes before opening and suddenly you're seated like you knew the secret all along. Inside, the room hums. Tight tables. Warm walls. Loud enough to feel alive without becoming chaotic. Nobody rushing. Nobody flipping tables. Just the rhythm of Paris doing what it's always done. The menu is entirely in French which, honestly, makes the experience better. You stop ordering with certainty and start ordering with curiosity. My wife had the risotto d'épeautre aux St. Jacques. I ordered the Magret de Canard au Romarin. The duck was solid. A 3.5/5 kind of dish. Rich, savory, comforting after a long day walking through the city. But the risotto surprised me more. The scallops were delicate, the spelt added this earthy texture that made the dish feel substantial without ever becoming heavy. And then there's the mousse au chocolat. The famous one. Served from an oversized bowl with this almost excessive "all you can eat" energy that somehow still feels elegant instead of gimmicky. We only needed a few bites. Soft, luxurious, lightly bitter chocolate balanced perfectly against just enough sweetness. The kind of dessert that doesn't ask for attention. It quietly earns it.

When I arrived, there was a rustic table in the entry room where I was seated. I enjoyed the mini mushroom raviolis and delicious Grand Marnier soufflé. The plat was somewhat odd because the chorizo chunks were really strong flavored which overpowered the scallops. I ate one chorizo chunk and pushed the rest aside. The scallops were cooked perfectly but not seasoned. The service was gruff/quite brief with dishes dropped by assistants. My biggest complaint was the stressful ambiance during the meal. It was freezing outside. The door constantly opened and new patrons came in hovering over diners in my room. Luckily I was not closer to the door and didn't have anyone over me. For ~170 Euros, the food was good but the experience was not.
