Since COVID has hit NY we rarely have gone out to eat, mostly out of fear! So having a special meal with family and enjoying the atmosphere of a parking lot was wonderful, as strange as that might sound. But this was all because the food was very good. When you have no one complains about their food, it always make the event better. Yes the food here is typical Long Island sauce, but the sauce was good! I honestly found this place to be above average when I had a sit down dinner here last December. I didn't get the pizza, instead I got the sole, with a side of pasta, and a house salad to start. The garlic knots in the bread basket are also great. I didn't think it was anything exceptional, but it was by no means bad. Again, "this bill will be paid in full !" - was the answer to our question of can you comp the pizza that my starving (and complaining) 12 year old son ordered about an hour and a half before the pizza arrived. Well, you ordered crazy items on the pizza. Grilled chicken and broccoli, not that crazy, maybe a little different, but shouldn't take over an hour to pop in the pizza oven. We were in a bit of a rush, the kids needed to study and finish their homework and get to bed on a Sunday night. We called the restaurant and they said due to the holiday weekend the place was empty. When we arrived 15 minutes later, there was a wait for a table...we do like this place, the food is good, not great, the service is usually just ok, a few of the waiters have no patience, especially for a special order, not too much garlic, not too much sauce.... Over the past 14 years we go maybe 10 times per year, pretty good customers. We brought the entire soccer team one year on a Saturday afternoon years ago, for an end of year party, probably spent about $600. The place is a little pricey for what it is. A pizza joint with good, not great food. Well, the bill was paid in full, all $167 dollars plus tip for the good food, not great and the just ok service. However we won't be going back, ever, they left a bad taste in our mouth. Bad business, for the $10-15 pizza they could have comped for one night, we would have continued to spend about $2,000 per year times say another 20 years before I move to Boca would have reaped them another $40,000 - but they saved the $15 last night. Bad business. We told him we weren't coming back and he said 'Good, don't came back. " To end the perfect night, my sons leftover pizza we took home as he wasn't hungry by the time his food came, (he ate my food and his sister's) - I left the pizza box on the roof of the car and we drove off, not sure where the leftover pizza flew off too. I guess that was a sign to confirm that we should never go back, can't even eat the leftover pizza that caused so much hoopla. Hopefully ,this will be my one and only ever review. And I guess you haven't lived life to its fullest, if you are not welcome back to some establishment in your neighborhood. This is our go -to with the kids and family. Everyone always pleased with their dinner. Large portions-I usually share. They don't take reservations but not really a problem, even with a large party. The only time we didn't wait was on a Saturday night when wait time was longer than 1/2 hour. My favorite is the stuffed artichoke and the calamari. This place was very disappointing. Having grown up in Port Washington, this was a family favorite and a regular outing. Seems like the food has declined significantly since my childhood. Food was poorly made and tasteless. My pasta dish tasted like canned Chef Boyardee and I declined to take my generous leftovers home despite how much I paid for the dish. The ambiance was also disconcerting. The lights were too bright and shining directly in my eyes despite the fact that it was 8:30 on a Thursday, so maybe some low lighting could've sufficed. The restaurant is designed poorly such that all noise reverberates and becomes tinny and suffocating. The whole dining experience made me anxious and I just wanted to leave. read more

A good restaurant should make you feel happy and comfortable at the end of a long day! La Pizzetta does not have an atmosphere that welcomes you! The owner is an unfriendly guy who could care less about what his patrons think. The waitstaff is unfriendly and rarely do they smile! I ordered a zucchini "linguini" dish with white clam sauce. The zucchini came swimming in water. They don't know how to prepare the dish. When I told the owner that $25 for a dish of zucchini swimming in water was: 1. Very poorly prepared, and 2. Over priced, he just shrugged his shoulders and said, "it is what it is"! What a poor attitude to have with customers. If you want to have a meal that satisfies the soul and stomach, don't go there!!!! read more

Casual and relaxed restaurant with the basic Italian menu. I had the chicken piccata which as not a regular menu item but they accommodated me and my husband had veal piccata. The sauce was light and not overbearing but had just the right flavor. For appetizer I had a delicious lentil soup and husband had the gorgonzola salad. Used to love this place--their eggplant parm is excellent and their parpadelle with mushroom and a pink sauce is very good. I ordered the parpadelle tonight and bit down on a piece of clam shell. I'm highly allergic to seafood. Took it back. The manager seemed angry that it happened but was less than nice to me. He should have been a lot nicer considering anaphylaxis is not a joke. Begrudgingly gave me my $ back like it was an issue. There are better places in oyster bay and I'm annoyed enough at the response that I won't be back. read more

Went here last Nite for the first time......Service was good but food took a while to reach my table.....Hot antipasto was nothing too exciting....Very small clams and muscles not worth 20 dollars.....My main course was very unsatisfactory.....For 24 dollars I ordered shrimp marinara over linguine.... We moved to the area recently. La Pizetta is right around the corner from us. It's airways crowded. The food is very good. Solid, yummy Italian. A couple of weeks ago, I ordered a fresh pasta dish. It was so good. But the portion was tiny and I usually don't complain about portion size. But if a restaurant is going to charge $20 plus dollars for take out pasta, I would expect it to be a dinner sized portion. I also think their soup is way overpriced and the owner is not friendly or customer service oriented at all. Good for take out once in awhile. read more

I have had unfortunate experiences at La Pizzetta. It seems that attention to service and food quality is slipping . Recently I had their chicken "La Pizzetta" and the result was inedible, The waiter did not notice when he cleared an untouched plate. I was always a huge fan of this restaurant - it has delicious food at reasonable prices and a wonderful ambiance. We've been ordering take-out from La Pizzetta to continue our support during COVID. However - we've had a negative experience this September. We had ordered our food to go, paid by credit card, got our receipt, then went home. Later that week when we were reviewing our bank statement, we noticed the worker had added an additional tip to the payment without our consent. We know for sure we didn't leave the tip on the credit card because we give tips in cash. Looking back we weren't asked to sign a receipt either so this is potentially not only fraud, but forgery as well. We don't mind giving an extra few bucks but we wish it wasn't taken from us behind our backs. This was just disappointing since the employees are usually all respectful and polite. This reflects poorly on the restaurant - though we do love their food. We will be back in the future but be cautious next time. read more

I agree with Nancy. Don't see what all the fuss is about. Not very family friendly for there is no children's menu. I ordered pasta with butter for my child (wasn't on the menu) and it was $10.50!! A pound of pasta is $1.50 and butter is another dollar. $10.50 is robbery! The pizzetta's we ordered were too well done and soggy on the bottom. Calamari app was not the best either. I won't go back. $100 dinner for my family. Wayyyy overpriced for the food we had. read more

I work right near this place and I order from here often. I use Grub hub to place the order its just quick and easy while I'm working. Delivery never takes too long and my order is always right. Always have a good experience here but you can wait a while..also, like that they have carafes of wine...definitely recommend if you are in the area for a nice, low key Italian meal. They could use a kids menu though as charging full price for kids to eat (and waste food in process) doesn't seem to make sense as it seems to be family friendly restaurant. One of my favorite go to restaurants in the local area. My family has been going there for over 20 years. The pizza is fantastic, especially the fresh mozzarella and basil pizza. Their menu has a great variety, with really good appetizers (especially the baked clams) to pasta, veal, chicken, fish and much more. We had a restaurant.com coupon for $25 off...first he tells us it isn't good for Sundays...we show him it says it isn't good on Fridays and Saturdays...then he says, "We don't participate in that program anymore." I tell him we JUST bought the coupon!!! He refused to take it and instead made a scene. Customers at other tables told us they thought he sounded like an a..hole!!!
