The food is amazing here. The waiter was so nice and friendly. Sat us right away. Place was very busy we weren't sure about the wait time, but there wasn't one. My husband wanted fettuccine Alla Nonna and also wanted chicken parm on the side. Our waiter suggested we get the two meals and they split it btwn the two of us and we still had a doggie bag to go. Definitely big portions. This place won't disappoint. Can't wait to go back again and try other dishes they have. read more

Wait staff was very rude and unaccommodating - simple questions for service - such as 'does this include a vegetable' OR can we get olive oil for table or 'may I get a to go container?' they looked at us as if we were bothering them. Plus their food was not that good - ravioli tasted like it was frozen then reheated - sauce was bland - bread was stale and portions were small based on what they charge. I spent the afternoon at LaPizzetta where I was fortunate to taste many menu items. Great wine. Everything that I tried was wonderful. The bread, to start was amazing. Caesar salad - PERFECT. Followed by a Caprese Salad. I asked for extra balsamic glaze and that made this dish perfect as well. Fried calamari followed...whew getting full. I ordered the veal parmesan as the main course. Because I was with a large group I only had a few options but that is okay as I was full already. I ordered the penne with marinara as the side. This came out well before the main meal. I snacked on this as this too was so good. By the time the meal came I asked for a to-go box. I simply could not eat another bite. We had great service with the main waiter and bus girl. There was one person, whether he was the head waiter or the cook/chef, he was not a pleasant person. He was very rude and very pushy. He was pushing the waiters around. When my cousin stated he said he ordered something different this guy flipped out. He raised his voice and said this is what you ordered, this is what you get. My sister was kind enough to give her meal to my cousin. That waiter actually picked up my sisters meal and gave it to someone else after she touched it. Not only that - when we were about halfway through our calamari this guy literally took our calamari from our table and gave it to another table of 2 that came late. Isn't that a huge no-no? I believe my cousin spent a ton of money at this restaurant feeding at least 40 people. You would have thought this guy would have been more accommodating. When we were just chatting getting ready to leave the staff came in to the area and where ever someone was not sitting they were banging the tables ... literally with a hammer/mallet to get the side tables up or down. They did whatever they could to get us out of there. It was appalling. I felt bad for our excellent waiter (wish I remembered his name) and the bus girl as they were great. For dinner, instead of returning there for wine and pizza, we went across the street to their competition as they lost our business all over this one short head waiter/cook who was someone I would never ever work for. read more

We came in a little later at 8:30PM, thought they closed at 10PM so I'd assume last seating 9PM? Not sure but, I would've appreciated & respected if they simply told us they were closing rather than rushing us out in 30 minutes. Soup & Salad - Amazing The fact they brought out our entrees while I was still eating my soup and left me holding my soup dish in my hand ... because there was no more space at the table is outrageous... My boyfriends dish was undercooked because they were in a rush to get out. I didn't even take a bite out of my penne alla vodka because my experience had been so horrible, and after being made to feel so uncomfortable by the employees speaking Spanish laughing at the upset customer (me) not knowing I speak Spanish fluently. Just out of plain respect I will never come here again next time say it's too late for dinner, instead of having us spend $100+ for 30 min of a horrible dining experience. The try to be authentic Italian and that is appreciated. It's not Italian Italian but it's good food. A personal pizza for $20 is very overpriced though. They have a lot of staff, so service is quick. Attention to detail in service is so so. They did good on the lighting and try to create a cozy atmosphere. Neighborhood restaurant- pizzeria that cooks average Italian food. Reservation was taken but not honored. Service was spotty and slow on the night we were there. Very unremarkable. I've been coming here for almost 30 years and I'm 34... their stuffed artichoke, minestrone soup and pizza are the best I've had anywhere.

We ate there with friends the other night and all had terrific meals and the service was more than you can ask for. I had the chicken Sorenta It was made with eggplant and mozzarella on chicken breast with a terrific tomato sauce. My wife and friends all said their meals were great also. The real disappointment was the fried calamari, last time it was amazing, crispy and properly fried. Average, average, average is the best way to describe La Pizzetta. This restaurant is been an old standby in the area for many years. I have eaten there a number of times and each time I leave with the same feeling - eehhhh. The food is average, the decor is pretty average, and the service falls between average and below average. I will say that generally their specials are better than the regular menu offerings, so if you end up eating here you should try and order off the specials. Given that the prices aren't cheap and the portions are on the small side, it's just not a restaurant I eagerly look forward to visiting. Each time I go back, I kinda hope it will be better, but it hasn't been so I'm pretty much done. read more

Came for dinner last night and found the food to be average for a pizzeria. We ordered the hot antipasti, stuffed artichoke, and a bunch of chicken and seafood entrees. The antipasti was ok. Lacking flavor, maybe garlic or something. The artichoke was alright but a bit too watery. For my main course I ordered chicken and eggplant with sauce. It was basically chicken parm with a thin slice of eggplant on top. It was plain. My Italian grandmother makes it SO much better so I guess I am spoiled. I wish I could leave no stars. This was the worst Italian food I've ever had. Eggplant Rollatini was all sauce and all cheese, might as well been eggplant parm. Linguini with clams was swimming in oil, flavorless. Penne vodka was almost all cream. How you can serve food this bad is mind blowing. Does anyone taste anything before sending it out? Also, your staff seems very unhappy, must be something wrong with management. I have been coming to La Pizzetta since I can remember. Easily 15+ years of eating here, and I have never had a questionable meal or dining experience until the last year or so. Usually, the pizza, pasta, meat and fish dishes all capture classic Italian cuisine, and at a reasonable price, in a versatile environment that can be casual or upscale, a weeknight or Christmas Eve. I have always been able to rave and rely on La Pizzetta. However, I am not sure what has happened. Recently, the pizza's have been a little cardboard like, and the seafood dishes have been stingy in terms of portion size. I've never been concerned or one to complain about this place. but my latest experience is where I am going to draw the line. Here's the deal... for the appetizer of the experience, our waiter was an absolute ass. He told us we would have a two minute wait, and while staring at multiple empty tables that could sit our party of 2, we waited 20 minutes. When we finally sat down, we were rushed at the speed of a walrus on amphetamines to order our main courses. Even after ordering our food, waited another 20 minutes for tap water and bread. 40 MINUTES FOR BREAD AND WATER! What the actual f***. Once bread and water finally came, the bread could have definitely been carbon dated back to the Neolithic era. It was a basket of two MORSELS harder than Uncle Gert's erect wiener. We received our entree within reasonable time, ordering the penne alla vodka. Although brought to us timely, it was literally thrown on the table. I have the sauce stains on my pants to prove it. While enjoying the mediocre-prepared dish, our table had gone a considerable amount of time without receiving water or a check-up on our dining experience. The butler bar was right next to our table, and the waiter made eye contact repeatedly, almost as to taunt us for parching over just a sip of measly tap water. After politely asking for water, the waiter decides to only pour water into one of the two glasses! Bro are you blind?! And off to the races for another 15 minute wait for the other glass to be filled while our waiter aimlessly Super Mario mushroom bops around the facility like a pissy old hag. We finished up the meal, paid the bill, left a 20% tip regardless of everything, and then... the real troubles occurred. Look, my couch has burn marks on it from violent flatuation from the both of us, and my one bathroom is overflowing with anally regurgitated vodka sauce. The air throughout my home is toxic. We have both been in and out of the bathroom almost cyclically, and my guest who traveled from out of town had to GO HOME just to be in the comfort of their own house while they traumatically massacre their multiple bathrooms. I know the cranky waiter had something to do with this, and I pray that our all-loving savior gives him what is coming. I am so disappointed, distraught, and in need of both emotional and rectal therapy from the experience at this place. If you are looking to rip your family to shreds, this is the place to serve your significant other the divorce papers. And yep, in front of the kids too. Misery loves company. read more

As genuine and authentic New York Italian as you can get. My grandparents--who live in the area--and my parents have been coming here even before I was born. When I walked in on my most recent visit, the owner welcomed me in, saying he remember when I was just *this* tall. As to the food, it's some great Italian for a great price. First the complementary rolls they bring out cannot be beat--warm, buttery, and fresh. I ordered the chicken with eggplant and enjoyed the cheesy, tomato goodness along with a side of Whole wheat pasta. The eggplant parm is another classic that La Pizzetta does right. The red sauce was not flavorful. Two meatballs, three sausages appetizers were equally not exciting. Meatballs were bready and tasteless. The sausages sadly were the same. We did like the Pizzetta rustica however the crust tasted processed. Cappuccino was watery. Did they use an instant mix? Dessert nothing to remember. We were looking for a spot with no frills, delicious Italian food, La Pizzetta fit the bill! We headed in on a Saturday night and while it was busy we had no problem finding a table. My friends and I decided to split a bunch of dishes. We ordered two of the International salads which was more than enough for the three of us. Then we went with the eggplant parmesan and some of their homemade fettuccini in vodka sauce. Everything was delicious, I only wish I was more hungry so we could have finish everything. The vodka sauce was great and I highly recommend going with their homemade pasta, I am always a sucker for homemade pasta of any sort. Eggplant parm was just what you wanted out of the dish. If I am in the area again, I'd definitely head back in. read more

I grew up in the neighborhood behind this place and I have to say: it has yet to impress me (and I was there before La Pizzetta, so they've had many chances to win me over). The pizza isn't that good and, worse than that, they haven't learned how to properly prepare eggplant. Instead of nice, meaty eggplant you get that weird bitter/soapy taste that only comes when it's not properly prepared. The menu looks good, but the food really isn't all that spectacular and the staff is average. I'd recommend hopping across the street to Saggio's for a slice, or down to Mario's. Sure, La Pizzetta might have a more restauranty feel (or at least they're trying to) but the food just isn't all that grand. read more

Dined there last night for my mom's 86th birthday. We were a party of 11. It was my first time there- other members of my family have been there before. We were very pleased with our dinner party. The staff was very professional and accommodating- they allowed us to bring a cake and they served it without charging an extra fee. I had the roasted Cornish hen- it was a daily special. It was delicious!! Served with potatoes, red peppers, and sausage in a perfect brown gravy. Others had chicken piccata, chicken parmigiana, and their personal pizzas- all superb. The only thing that was mediocre was the calamari appetizer, which was lacking flavor and could have been crispier. I've lived in this community for seven years and had always heard such great things about La Pizzetta. I was ready to love this place but was very disappointed. The food was fine but our waiter was unfriendly and most unhelpful. With out even saying hello he asked for our order. Someone else brought our food and our waiter continued to help the people around us but completely ignored us. Eventually the host (who I assume is the owner as well) cleared our table and got us our check. He also wasn't the friendliest of people but was at least more attentive than our waiter. I am not sure why we were treated this way. We are a nice, quiet young family who were just looking to have a nice night out together. I will not be returning. read more

I always order off the daily specials. The stuffed baby eggplant appetizer is absolutely amazing! The homemade pastas are delicious as well. The rest of the regular menu is filled with solidly executed Italian staples for a good value considering the pricey neighborhood. I've never tried the pizza. read more
