Well online Google this store reads OPEN but when walking up to the front door they hung a stupid little piece of paper on glass door closed December 25 through January 6. I came to buy a $20,000 ring for engagement and they're not even open! Th Owner are irresponsible and will take my business elsewhere! I went to La Placa Jewelers for the first time the other day. I had a necklace that I felt needed reinforced. I did not want it to break or take a chance of losing the pendants that were on it . Vinnie was working with another customer , but immediately acknowledged me and very quickly made certain his current customer was ok to see if he could see what I needed. The other couple was very sweet and accommodating. It didn't take long for Vinnie to know what I was hoping to accomplish with my necklace. He showed me what he thought would be the best way to fix the problem. He was so understanding, patient and extremely knowledgeable. I felt very comfortable with his suggestions and he gave me a very reasonable quote for the work. He called me the very next day and it was already finished. He did even more work to it than I had expected and it turned out even more beautiful than when I brought it in. I know I will continue to go there with any and all of my jewelry purchases or repairs. If you are looking for creativity and advice look elsewhere. I was handed a book of mounts to look through with no direction. I ended up ordering something they should have warned me would look odd with my diamonds. Tried correcting the mistake and they managed to not understand what I was talking about so even more money on a new mount. Over $1,000 I still didn't have what I wanted. This is a great small town shop that will take links out of a watch for you that you bought online for 2 bucks and replace watch batteries in your old watches for $5! Great customer service and the dude who works there has no problem giving candid advice about watches you bring in and helping out...can't say enough good things about the place and I would definitely buy a watch from them if I had the cash for something of that quality! They have a jeweler on premise who tightened my diamond and checked the prongs right away, also cleaned and polished it like brand new.
