Alright, my gluten free friends, THIS PLACE is awesome! When I mentioned when ordering that I have celiac they immediately put a note that my corn tortillas needed to be cooked in a separate pan. They left the chips off my platter because they weren't fried separately- and they knew that! I hardly noticed because the servings are so generous! We should do less stars since they don't tell anyone that they will automatically round up your cash payment for the cost of your order to the nearest dollar, not the nearest penny or nickel. What happened to this place? It closes at 9 on Fri and Sat nights??? What the hell? The same thing at the County Seat ( closes earlier and went way downhill, same owner ). We we here last Sat at 8:30 ( not a slow Sat, Prescott is busy this time of year ), and the bright ugly closing time lights were on and TVs were all turned to local boring news, at 8:30!! I saw exactly 10 people ( 2 couples and a group of 6 people ) get turned away from 8:30-8:50 pm!!! That's a lot of business the d---e owner just lost in like 20 minutes. The manager whose always there on Sundays, is a good guy and a super hard worker, he's been there for years. Seems as though after the ridiculous COVID lockdowns, this place kind of lost its drive? This place used to be hopping busy Friday and Sat nights until midnight. What happened? The restaurant was clean and the woman who helped us was really pleasant and knowledgeable. We got the lunch special. The birria tacos were okay, but they didn't leave a lasting impression. Although they were generously filled, the meat was a bit greasy. On the positive side, the onions and cilantro provided a refreshing contrast to the richness of the meat. My date thoroughly enjoyed the calabacitas tacos, I felt that they could have been elevated even further with a touch more seasoning or perhaps a drizzle of salsa or crema. Something has changed. Our previous visit was enjoyable but the visit today was weird and not in a good way. The Margarita (whose Taco Tuesday Price needs to be updated on their website) tasted like it was made from a bottle mix that you could buy at a grocery store and the 12 dollar charge for a Mocktail was extremely steep for what was served. The Staff was rather straight and to the point rather than friendly and the atmosphere was sterile. The Dollar Tacos for Taco Tuesday were tasty and nothing more as they come with a clump of whatever you ordered on a small tortilla and nothing more unless you want to pay extra for each of the 14 items that can be added to enhance the flavor. Ordering a street taco at the counter this way is a bit overwhelming and more like trying to order a specialty pizza. Final impression- 30 bucks in 30 minutes and completely forgettable. read more

You order at the counter from a smallish menus focused on tacos and light bites such as loaded nachos, guacamole, elote, quesadillas, plus a few desserts. We went for a late lunch and had the lunch platter special: 3 tacos, a small side of beans with cheese, chips and salsas, and a fountain drink, all for $10 a good value. The Chicken tacos were very good, double corn tortillas lightly fried to give a crisp yet still soft and pliable texture, some chipotle crema, cheese, onions, lime. I liked the thin, crispy chips, though the beans were bland, hence the 4 stars. My husband has quesabirria tacos and loved them, crispy fried and with plenty of onion and cilantro, though a cardiologist would likely not approve! We had an Arnold Palmer as the fountain drink and it was well mixed, not too much tea. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere is fun with murals, upbeat but not too loud music, and the drink menus looked excellent. As it was lunch, we had only a non alcoholic Lagunitas IPA and it was excellent, a big step above the typical non alcoholic beers many places serve. The food and drinks are terrific. We've been back 4 times now that we've discovered this little gem. You must try the different types of street tacos, the elote dip, the quesadillas, the churros, & the fried ice cream. All get 5/5 stars. The service is excellent. You order up front & get a number; then the waitresses start bringing the food & helping with drink & chip refills. The ambience is artistic with bold murals and cool lighting. Tacos are good, appetizers are kinda sorely lacking which is a bummer, they stay pretty authentic Mexican not Tex-Mex so do keep that in mind. This is a serve yourself establishment, you go to the counter and order meals and alcohol, with water in small plastic cups. As my husband said "I've never seen such a small margarita' and you will pay $10, The guacamole was $6 in a small togo plastic cup as were all the salsas. The street tacos (small) left flank for $6, center fried chicken $5 and right carnitas $3. Honestly just fell flat all around, minus the fried chicken that had a good sauce on it. The best part was the $9 ceviche which was basic/nothing special, however, apparently they have no lids if you need to take it home the togo. Trust me as my husband went round and round and came back empty. So I sent him back until they finally gave him a (what they put their dinky tacos in) togo container. Was that so difficult? Guess so. Overall, would never go back. Customer service was zero, food average, but at least they have outdoor seating. read more

My friend who lives in Phoenix was in Sedona for the day. On her way back to Phoenix she stopped off in Prescott so we could have dinner and catch up. I was in the mood for tacos and I pass by La Planchada daily going to work and always wanted to try it. Located downtown Prescott right across from the courthouse square. I was very surprised at how small it was inside it was chilly out so we couldn't sit on the patio and sat in the corner by the windows. The food came out really fast like not even 5 minutes after we ordered as I was still standing at the counter. When asked why I was told it was because they weren't busy. Well when I got to the table I got my answer because my food wasn't hot at all. Potato black bean poblano taco - potatoes Black Beans, Roasted Poblano, Chihuahua Cheese Calabacitas taco - Green + Yellow Squash, Chile, Red Onion, Chihuahua Cheese Spanish rice & black beans was bland. Inviting , if you are interested in getting a feel for a bar directly made for tourist town down in Mexico- this is as close to it, you're going to get. The servers were pretty much non existent tho. One brought my food out, asked if I needed any sauce, and when I told her which sauces I'd like she never came back. We went there a few months ago abd the guy was rude. We waited for service at the order counter and he wouldn't even acknowledge us so we left. We went back last night with friends. We wanted gin and tonic, jack on the rocks , Tito's a orange and Chardonnay . The person taking the order said they didn't have jack and i had to point it to her on the shelf. When they brought the drinks they were sub-par but brought jack and coke. I explained we ordered a jack on the rocks. She gave us a snotty response and took the drink and brought back something on the rocks that was not jack. It was light in color and tasted horrible. I will never go back. I would NOT come here. I have been here a couple of times and just not very impressed with the food, prices or the employees. Tacos are over priced and filled with more toppings than meat. Drinks are pricey and honestly only a couple of them taste good. The last time I was there waiting to order at the bar and the bartender said he would be with me in a minute. Then a server came up and told me I'm not allowed to stand there, that I have to sit at the bar or get in line. I told the server that the the bartender just told me he would serve me and she just said "lucky you." Then right after that a second bartender came up to me and said the same the thing about needing to it or wait in line. The original bartender told them not to worry about it and he's got me covered and took my drink order. This place is SO overrated. Waste of money. So many other better places to get tacos in town like Lindo Mexico, mi Tierra Mexico and Azteca Carniceria just to name a few. Don't waste your money here!!! read more

My Girlfriend and I came here on the Prescott Cocktail tour, which you should definitely book for a date night or outing for friends and family as it is extremely affordable and a wonderful time. This is a tequila bar and they have many a drink to choose from. We were lucky and got a table by the window so we could people watch outside and had a full few inside the bar as well to watch from both angles. Our drinks were made at the bar and we brought them back to our seats and we ordered some chips and guacamole but it seemed it was forgotten about because it never came out so we had to go back up to inquire. That is the only reason I am leaving 4 over 5 stars. The chips were very good and so was the guacamole. Our tour guide ordered the chips and salsa and we all shared at the table. The salsa was very good as well. If you enjoy tequila, you should certainly give this place a try. We were told they have very good tacos and other main dishes as well. read more
