This is my favorite place to eat when in Eastlake. Wide variety of food and beverages also have smoothies and coffee. The staff is amazing the cooks are great! The guy at register helped me figure out what exactly I what I wanted to eat very patient with me.

Place is tucked away in the plaza. Not very aesthetic, but entrees look delicious. Great place to get a grab and go meal, but I ended up dining in. It didn't take long to get what I ordered and the cook is very happy to be there. He makes it know and his happiness is very contagious and I like it. I would definitely revisit this place again.

This spot needs more attention than it's getting because it is insanely good. I found Vega Caffe on Google and almost didn't go because I thought it was a vegan/vegetarian restaurant. Don't let the name fool yall, there is something for everyone here! The cubana torta was absolutely life changing. I honestly didn't know what to expect but what I got, incredible. I can't wait to go back and try more

    Mexican Mocha- small $4.35

Wasn't too impressed with this place. It was okay, the Mexican mocha was average, and overpriced for the small cup I received. I was tired and needed my morning caffeine. I hadn't been here, so I decided to give them a try. After looking at the menu, I saw that they had lattes for $4.35 and blended coffee drinks for $6.50. I ordered the latte and was asked if I wanted it hot or cold. I said cold and was then told it was $7 and some change. I looked back at the menu and looked at the prices again. I was confused with the price I was given, seeing that I did not want it blended. Asked about the price and was told I'm paying for the ice and all cold drinks are the same. It didn't specify on the menu, however I opted for a hot Mexican mocha. I received my tiny cup and was a little disappointed. It was hot however tasted more like watered down chocolate milk than a latte. Oh well, live and learn. I was expecting a cafe to specialize in coffee items, but I was wrong here.

We stopped by this new restaurant after an event at Petco Park, and they had their Grand Opening recently. They offer a variety of menu items: Mexican, including birria tacos and the quesabirria (cheese with beef). My husband had the roast beef sandwich - the owner and chef said - "Adding the cucumber adds an element of crunch to it." He likes it - bread was good and it was satisfying. Had two birria street tacos-they were accompanied by cilantro and onions, so delicious! Loved the texture and flavor. Also had the $10 small fruit salad. Bigger than small-had a cottage cheese and coconut topping over cantaloupe, papaya, strawberries, and banana. They also offered açaí bowls - so think açaí bowl without açaí. It was a good complement to the tacos. My mom-in-law had fish tacos and sister-in-law had the flair as and a cup of tortilla soup. Yum! Overall, pretty pleased. For drinks, besides Coca-Cola products they have smoothies. If you are short/petite, the booths are tallish, we were like little kids with our feet off the floor.

Not what I was expecting Fries with no taste The guacamole on the carne asada fries already tasted like old My kids love fries from anywhere but here They not even ate them I just ate the carne instead of throwing it away

I love that this place is a hidden gem. I will always go out of my way to come here. I've brought many friends and family here over the years and they always want to come back! Pros: Large parking lot Service is impeccable Fast, friendly Portions are healthy and... Everything is delicious, trust me- omelets, breakfast bagels, coffees, agua fresas breakfast burritos, acai bowl, etc etc you name it it's good! Cons: none!

Food lacks flavor. The sauce taste a bit old and the chicken doesn't taste fresh. The food also appears rushed.

Each meat type has its own line and because I am a sucker for Adobada, I was not wavered by the very long line. And though the classic rich guacamole topping was delicious, the actual meat was dry and disappointing. The tacos de lengua, were AMAZING, with the meat cooked perfectly. My husband also loved his buche tacos. The carne asada was cooked well, though meat was under seasoned . I ordered with all toppings which unfortunately made the taco soggy. The tomato salsa might have been the culprit, so I suggest to skip on that topping or consider just sticking to cilantro and onion, with a squeeze of lime as a topping. I also ordered the Azteca and though the cactus was delicious, I would have preferred it cut into small pieces rather than long slices so that it mixed better with the carne asada. The Azteca was also soggy from the loaded toppings. I can see why Tacos El Gordo is a favorite among locals and I would be willing to try again with some modifications on my order.

We had 11 tacos, cheese nachos, 2 beers and 1 margarita and it was about $50! So worth it! I highly recommend Kalaveras for Mexican food. Great vibes. Great happy hour prices.
