Vega Caffe is a gem in Eastlake. This small but hidden dining spot has been here for years! I was introduced over 13 years ago to Vega Caffee (well overdue review) by a good friend. They have a HUGE and vast menu abut don't be alarmed, unlike many places -- the food here is QUALITY. A torta, esquites or rolled tacos are delicious. The aguas frescas are great too! Pricing is spot on-not expensive at all. Don't skip out on it. Parking is plentiful since it's close to all the kids amusement parks (Ninja Factory, Party City). read more

Randomly stopped by this spot for lunch and it was delicious! The restaurant is pretty small, but there is both indoor and outdoor seating available. The menu is hugeee and the food was delicious! Plenty of free parking available in the lot. Staff were all very welcoming. Only problem I had was my ceviche came out after I finished my tacos... which is weird since they didn't have to cook it. My go to lunch spot when I'm looking for a fruit salad, bagels, or tortilla soup. They have such a wide and varied menu but don't be scared by it! Salads are amazing, as well as their tortas. My go to's here would be carne asada torta. Always warm with that crunchy bread. Bagels, soft, toasty, and plenty of cream cheese. Tortilla soup to accompany them &/or a fruit salad! Wasn't too impressed with this place. It was okay, the Mexican mocha was average, and overpriced for the small cup I received. I was tired and needed my morning caffeine. I ordered the latte and was asked if I wanted it hot or cold. I said cold and was then told it was $7 and some change. I looked back at the menu and looked at the prices again. They offer a variety of menu items: Mexican, including birria tacos and the quesabirria (cheese with beef). My husband had the roast beef sandwich - the owner and chef said - "Adding the cucumber adds an element of crunch to it." He likes it - bread was good and it was satisfying. Had two birria street tacos-they were accompanied by cilantro and onions, so delicious! Loved the texture and flavor. Also had the $10 small fruit salad. Bigger than small-had a cottage cheese and coconut topping over cantaloupe, papaya, strawberries, and banana. They also offered açaí bowls - so think açaí bowl without açaí. It was a good complement to the tacos. My mom-in-law had fish tacos and sister-in-law had the flair as and a cup of tortilla soup. Yum! Overall, pretty pleased. It was enough to completely fill you up for lunch. They packed it with well seasoned asada. The employees made us feel very welcomed, and even asked as we sat down if we wanted water cups. Customer service was top knotch. Now, onto why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. Honestly, I would give this place 5 stars just on customer service alone. However, as for quality of food goes, the asada was a little too salty for our enjoyment. We did finish the burrito, but the saltiness was a bit overbearing. The salsa, although good, seemed a little low on the flavor factor and was more spice than taste. Was looking for a place to eat and found this little business in the corner of the shopping center. Parking is pretty good and there's a lot of open spaces but on Sundays it is a little difficult. Once you arrive you see the menu options up top above the register. There is a lot to choose from and the business is somewhat clean. I ended up ordering the Surf & Turf burrito meal and a Adobada Taco. It all ended up being around $16 which is a little pricey. I got the food around 10-15 minutes later after sitting down. The taco was the first thing I tried. It had no flavor and was bland. I don't recommend it. As for the burrito, the meat was chewy and felt like I had pieces of cartilage and the rice inside also had no flavor. I was a little disappointed. After I cleaned up and returned the salsas I went to wash my hands but there were no towels to dry my hands. If you're being brave and doing the red sauce. Vega Cafe has the best smoothies for a hot day or if you're feeling like something light.
