I previously lived in the area and frequented the old location so I knew the food selection. I stopped by tonight, a busy Friday early evening, while passing through on my way home. I had the choice to stop or wait til I had more choices. And I should have waited. In Kaufman, you have very few choices for sit down places and typical fast food joints. We waited 15 minutes to be seated and once seated we never received chips and salsa. We got our queso and guacamole before the chips and drinks ever arrived. We had to ask for chips. The queso was cold before we ever got them. I ordered fajitas with just veggies, no meat and no dairy. Dairy was on the plate so I couldn't eat the beans. And I was charged for beef fajitas. As we were leaving, I asked management about the charge and they said that is the way it is supposed to be charged. I said okay then this will be our last visit. It would be nice to hear that up front. In my town, our local places do not charge beef prices for veggies. But I guess that's how they hose you in Kaufman. The service was horrible. Sat down to an unattended bar. Several servers came behind the bar and never even acknowledged me. Sporadic service once a server came by. When I went to close out my check was $26. After they ran my card the receipt with a tip line was $44. After pointing it out to the server she seemed annoyed, ripped up the receipt and brought me one for the right amount. New in town and this is the second Mexican restaurant I've tried and it was great. Went for an early dinner with my friend and sister. The decor was nice we were greeted and seated right away. The waitress came and took our drink orders and we asked for queso. She came back quickly with drinks and chips, salsa and queso which was delicious. Our food came out pretty fast and was correct as we had a few substitutions. Everything was delicious and we quickly cleaned our plates. Our waitress was very attentive and no one ran out of their drink. I will definitely come back here when I'm craving Mexican. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Management was very rude to us after we waited to be set for a table of six. They tried to sit us at a small table for four, we complained and they got upset at us. BTW we waited an hour and twenty minutes to be set at a table. So then they made us wait even longer for a bigger table. By this time it is after 10pm, and we order one drink. By time they finally come ask us what we would like to eat we decide to order another drink. They refused to serve us another drink because it was after 10pm. Even though our first drink wasn't ordered till after 10. Then to top it off the bartender (that is a horrible drink maker) and a waitress are obviously mad at each other and start yelling at each other from across the restaurant. This restaurant is now located on US 175 next to Whataburger. Our party of six arrived at 6:30 PM on a Saturday and were seated within 5 minutes. Our server was Paul and he gave us outstanding service. My wife and I both had the basic Fajitas that come without rice and beans, but with sour cream guacamole, and pico de gallo. The new location is better. Not your triple A Tex-Mex joint but will do in a pinch. We've had good service and great service, so thats hit and miss. The food is not gourmet but as good as a typically small busy location can be. Whatever we order... we typically have a couple of tests for service and quality and can't complain about the food or service. Handy place to have some typical Mexican food. Mom recommends. Never been here. It's in KAUFMAN, fer cryin' out loud. It better be good. It was better than good. The salsa? Perfect. Chips? Perfect. Queso? Perfect. Are we seeing a pattern here? Didn't try anything fancy. Mom gets the No. 8 combo (she says "Ocho," cute gringa lady). I tried the No. 7 which had a cheese enchilada, a tamale, a beef taco and a cheese taco. There were no survivors. Top it off, the excellent server sent us off with a bag of chips and some more salsa. I'm going to remember La Pradera. It's really, really, really good. read more

Worst service I've had in a while. When we arrived the manager was sitting in a table just in front of the door on her phone texting. She waited about 5 minutes before she came to seat us. Once we were seated the waitress came to take our drink order. We ordered drinks and queso which was bland at best. She came back with our drinks and the queso however we still hadn't been served chips and salsa. The waitress said she'd bring chips back however we never saw her again. After 10 minutes we flagged down an employee to bring us at least some chips to go with our now cold queso. The guy wasn't our waiter however he brought us back chips within a few minutes. The chips were SO greasy! The grease was practically dripping off the soggy chips. We waited around for our waitress to come back and take our order however she never came back. We got up and walked out. I called to speak with a manager, Britney, after we left. Britney seemed very disinterested in our concern about the quality of food and service. I have asked alot of people why they go to this place and they all say either because its convienent and in town or because its close and they can drink. The food is not very good at all the rice is flavorless and alot of times undercooked with crunchy pieces and the beans have been flavorless most times ive had to put hot sauce all over them just to get some flavor. The onions and peppers for the fajitas are never grilled good being practically raw and the worst of all is the cheese turns to rubber after a couple min on the plate. You would surely need to drink to eat this. Their chips arent good either so that should say something. I have lived here many years and a couple times a year i will give them a try to see if they have changed but they dont its always the same bland food. Ive decided to stop trying after the last visit the meat and tortillas my enchiladas were made with were both very dry. I went there about 2 months ago and I'm gonna say they changed their tacos there new taco shells are soooooo small and soft now! I mean my tooth could lightly tap it and it would shatter. And you know they definitely dont write down orders I waited 20 minutes outside that place with a beef and lettuce order and when I got it they gave me cheese and tomato and barely any meat. New in town, so decided to try this place. First impression, walking in, the place is your average Tex Mex scenery, did not expect to walk and hear 80's music playing thought the restaurant...lol. We waited about 10 minutes before we were seated. Chip, salsa & black bean dip was served, which was really good. Ordered the fish tacos and my husband the fajita plate. I'm not typically a picky eater, but the tacos were SO not good...at all, seems like they rolled a fish stick into batter and fried it ...it was so gross! My husband's fajita plate was very rubbery and stiff. He didn't get the right tortillas he ordered & it took the waitress more than 15 minutes to bring him the right ones. The services is not good and honesty, neither is the food. We went on a Friday afternoon, around 3:00 and this place was NOT busy at all, don't understand why they took so long in servicing.
