I was interested in the meat department. Called before I arrived and asked about certain cuts that usual small markets don't carry. Surprised that they carried the Tomahawk rib eye steak and at a very reasonable price. Liked what I saw purchased two 50oz steaks, one frozen the other thawed. Should mention my wife and I are very Carnivorous. That day prepared one and expertly grilled to rare and then cut 20oz off. Then in a hot cast iron skillet with butter finished cooking my wife's portion. Yes, that's right she like medium. WOW!!! Very tender and juicy. Going to try other types of steaks but their beef ribs are next on my list. No more chain stores for me at least for the meat department. Will try to purchase more of their merchandise in time. read more

La Presa Market is awesome! I go there mainly for fruits and vegetables bc they are fresh and last much longer than other grocery stores! I also go there for Wic items & they have everything labeled WIC making it much easier to get the items I need and know that they will be covered!! The customer service is unparallel! Rene is def the man and is always friendly and helpful and goes above and beyond for his customers (he even helped me carry my groceries to the car!) Eventhough, I don't live in the area anymore, I still make it a point to go there at least once a month due to the great experience I always have! We love this place, it's close to home and they have ABSOLUTELY the best fresh meats as well as marinated varieties as well. The butchers are always helpful and the staff in general is always super friendly. Amazing Carne Asada! I got a recommendation for this place over the weekend, my normal go to for marinated meats is Valley Farms but they are a bit pricey, it was a bit challenging to find, I would recommend taking Jamacha all the way and not crossing across Jamacha. The meat counter is in the back, I ordered Carne Asada, Pollo, and Adobado to start with, I picked up the green salsa and some hot carrots. Dinner was a hit! I decided to go back today and pick up more meat, this time they had FRESH ceviche! A+! It was fantastic. Prices are fantastic, they have a nice selection of different meats (marinated and non marinated) and lots of fresh made salsas going from mild to extra spicy. You can also pick up some rice and beans to go with dinner. 5+ stars for this market, highly recommend you check it out. read more

As others have said, if you're looking for marinated meats, this is the spot! They have it all and it's always sooo good. The salsa is really good as well & everything always seems to be really fresh. They did have the shrimp we bought frozen in the back and they defrosted it for us. I thought that was a bit strange. Marinated beef ribs is tough meat, expensive--- $6.99/lbs = 4 pieces of tough very chewy meat Pork adobo was alright, meat was more tender --- marinate was fair @ least not too salty!! Non marinated taco meat is the cheapest cut of meat and very tough!! Probably will not buy meat here again--- i'd rather buy premium beef @ Costco...I shopped here more for convenience!! read more

I grill a lot and I live far from this place, but THIS IS THE BEST PLACE FOR POLLO ASADO! You'll know it when you order it and they walk over to your right. You will see a giant tub of chicken marinating and it's only 2.99/lb!!!! This chicken is always a hit at my BBQ's and they have been doing it for years. Just remember that when you are grilling it, don't touch it too much and let it cook slowly. All those juices will be there when you're done and your gonna love it! read more
