Brought my car in for a coolant leak. I called to get some info. Spoke to the owner (Joel I think). He said to bring my car and he'll have his son take a look. This was on Sunday morning, 4th of July weekend. I brought my car, they checked it out and found the prob. They didn't have the part I needed so I had to go to the dealer to get it. When I got it, they took care of me the same day. It took a bit, but as long as it's done right, I'm ok with it. Price was fair. Given the time and service. STAY AWAY! Would give 0 stars if I could! Joe does not take responsibility whenever he damages your car. He becomes defensive and tries to find any excuse even brings up and makes comments about you and your car that don't have anything to do with the bad work he does. From the beginning, Joe would not let me explain what was going on with my vehicle. Anytime I tried to ask questions or offer another opinion, he became defensive and acted like he could never be wrong. He charged me a significant amount of money and performed electrical work that multiple mechanics have since told me should never have been necessary. He removed my original fuse, damaged other fuses, broke a relay, and installed what he called a "bypass." I trusted his judgment because I'm not a mechanic. Afterward, I had several independent mechanics inspect the work, and I also posted detailed photos in multiple mechanic forums and group chats. Around 30 mechanics all agreed that the bypass was unnecessary if the engine had been installed correctly. Several also said the wiring was poorly done and could be a fire hazard because the connections were not properly heat-shrunk, relay was left hanging, and wire even appears to be burned. Even after everything, Joe never clearly explained what the bypass was actually for. Joe, if you're reading this, can you finally explain exactly what the bypass was supposed to accomplish? After his repairs, my vehicle started throwing new trouble codes. Instead of taking responsibility, he blamed the age of my truck, even though these problems appeared after his work. To make matters worse, my truck now won't pass its smog inspection because of the electrical modifications that were made. I have all the proof of the work he did and receipt he gave me if I need to verify. Joe again I ask what was the relay bypass for? read more

I really wish I could give 0 stars. My car was having overheating problems and brought my car in and spent $1500 just to come back within a week to have them fix the problem again. I asked them to not only fix that problem but also check the codes. After admitting he didn't check the codes cuz he automatically thought it was something else AGAIN WITHOUT CHECKING!! After tell him the problems with my car he continued to misdiagnose my car and try to over charge me. And because of this he quoted my family and I $165 and waited for the part. When the part arrived, brought that car in and tried to charge us $800. My family have been going to this place for years, and my sisters car was having issues too and their negligence towards their work really shows.. my whole family of 6 cars will no longer be coming to do business at this place. STAY AWAY FROM HERE!!! ZERO STARS!!! I had high expectations for this place cuz I like the Latino value they were doing for the community, and they were a small business. I thought this shop would be like my uncle's shop in AZ, who value Latino pride. On the day I started hearing a sound, I went to this place after work. The guys gave me an estimate and said they would give me about a week to fix it. I thought that was a lot of time, but I get that they have many customers. I shopped around, and the next place would have to be in Azusa or El Monte. This shop was the closest to my home, and the mechanics and manager seemed aight. 2 days later, I went to this place and dropped off my car. I will not go into the details, but when I tried to pick up my car, it won't start, so they kept trying to fix it. After a couple of months, I tried driving my car off the property, and it made it to the end of the parking lot. The "cool" mechanic and manager I talked to said I drove the car even though I couldn't get my car past their parking lot, and they would call the police cuz now I was trespassing. I told them, "DUDE! THE CAR YOU WERE SUPPOSE TO FIX CAN'T EVEN PAST THE PARKING LOT!" I thought the old days of criminals in La Puente were over, but it ain't true. They all work in this Auto Shop! This review is only in regards to the service done to my car. I've been back twice times for the same issue after it was fixed the first time. The worst part is the lack of communication. I had to constantly call them to get any and all updates. I was consistently over promised and under delivered time and time again. I'm absolutely done with this place. Super nice guys but nice doesn't make their all these inconveniences any easier. Go to an AC specialist for your AC needs. read more

Horrible work. He hires wanna be mechanics who spend more time talking than getting the job done. Had three engines from three different cars there at the same time. All three had to be rebuilt. Big waste of money. They didn't even fix the heads right. I had a different spark plug from the other five. Unreal experience. Stay away from this place. He is t worth the cheap prices. Update review Since our last repair, our car went from automatic transmission to manual (wasn't like this before they fixed it) wanted to charge us to fix this. (It worked fine before you guys touched it, I won't pay to fix your mistake) Our car idle's higher than normal, we were informed of this when getting the car back, they said they would fix if brought back. (Thanks guys but no, you've done enough) I feel like we never should have been given the car back this way on top of everything else gone wrong Our service engine light wasn't on before but is now (due to the transmission problem they broke) Our alternator was fixed. Our car started to over heat very quickly, waiting red lights or drive thru causes me to panic. Our car didn't have this problem before the fix. Another problem encountered was a lot of oil leaking out of the car after the fix. Our car is now not reliable for my children and family and thats what is important to me. BEWARE...WORST SHOP EVER!!! Can't stress enough how awful this shop'services and professionalism is. So I took my vehicle in for a minor repair and got it back worst than what I took it in for. Let me say...I was without a car for 3 months because I kept continually taking back! The owner acted like he was doing me a favor in fixing his f*ck ups (I mean his mistakes)! And yes, unfortunately he got paid, but I didn't think for one second I was getting my car back like this! I trusted him. To add insult to injuries he gave up on my car and now He left my kids and I high & dry...without a working vehicle. He even refused to honor his warranty after I paid big $. I now have my car in another shop were I've told them nothing about the history of what my car had done...& Gues What?! They just told me that everything I supposedly thought I got fix in La Puente Auto Services is all BAD!!! Well I'll leave by saying... I'll Never Ever go there again nor will I recommend this shop to anyone, Not even my worst enemy (well maybe, if you want their sh* f*cked up), but that's how AWFUL & STRESSFUL this shop was! I never write reviews but in this case it's necessary. I hate getting work done on my RV but when I need to have work done I love coming to La Puente Auto Service. Joe is one of the nicest, honest mechanics I've ever met. He runs this business with his son and a nice, reliable team of workers. They've gone above and beyond what's required of good costumer service. From picking up my RV and towing it to their location, picking me up in la when it was finished being worked on. Just an amazing bunch of people. I like them so much I had my RV towed here over 2 hours to have the clutch replaced. They're prices are better then any competition. The worst mechanic shop that i have ever encountered!!! Beware!!!! Had to return vehicle numerous times (12 times) yes had motor rebuilt car continued to leak oil and power steering fuild. Fenders was not braced correctly, which caused vehicle to shake and vibrate. He did not have muffler welded correctly. I would not recommend to my worst enemy. Consumer be aware!!!!!! read more

Gave an extra star cause the service advisor was patient and tried to help. The customer service person, not very helpful (not in a mean way, just seemed apathetic). Been going to Longo for years, but moved closer to this area. Called on 3 occasions to ask a few questions, but a service advisor never picked up and it went to voicemail every time. Got to the dealership and just didn't have a good feeling about working with them. Longo has a rewards program and its really great, so planning to go back there. If the customer service rep said, "hey, we can honor some incentives that Longo does," (not anything major-detailing or discounts, but good enough) I would've stuck around...hell any attempt and I would've stayed around. But, since she didn't seem too keen at all to try or seem I care, they lost a customer for good. Bummer for me cause it's close by. read more
