Service was bad, portion sizes were small. It seemed like the food was microwaved right before they brought it out. Lettuce was hot and cheese crispy, over cooked. Ambience was fine Restrooms were awful. Graffiti all over the walls in the men's restroom. If the bathroom looked like this I wonder what their kitchen looks like. read more

So I tried this La Puente twice within a week..Friday for lunch and Monday for dinner. The food was amazing! We tried enchiladas, tacos, burritos, tostadas and nachos (between the 2 days). And the food was fresh and flavorful those 2 times. Different staff too. They greeted us at the door, explained the menu (I speak Spanish) and they loved it. The sitting area felt relaxed and they played music kind of low which I liked. Clean place too. In the past 2 months I have been here 3 times for lunch. It's become one of my favorite spots so today I decided to give it a review and leave some positive love. I got here around 11:30 and there were a few groups seated but has I ate, more and more, people were seated. This is a great spot for lunch because it offers quite a lot few options on the lunch special menu. Today ordered from that list and for a cheese enchiladas with rice. I also got a tamale and it was so yummy. If ever there was a time where you were debating on this place and another Mexican restaurant located kiddy-corner, pick here! The quest for really good Mexican food continues... we stopped in for dinner last night and we're pretty disappointed. Both our entrees lacked flavor and the lack of Re-filling chips when they were empty is very odd. At least show some attention to your tables. Good thing I didn't need a water refilled or anything. They did get two stars for the chips and ok salsa. Lost stars on the chimichanga and smothered tacos. Was a returning customer for many years! I'm 23, usually a beer girly but ordered a margarita. This place looks authentic and I hear Mexican margaritas are the best. I had a paper id, with a bar code to scan. The waitress comes back and says sorry no id. I said this is a real ID? She then sends her lesbian dyke looking bartender to confront me who said it was "policy" they couldn't accept it. I've never heard of that nor have I been turned away because of my ID. Mind you I'm a mother and literally have my three kids with me. I felt discriminated against, especially after some young Mexican dude ordered a beer and wasn't ID'd. Do better. The chorizo tasted like chili and I had no idea they would be coming in a hard shell. Asked for sour cream and Cholula, they came back with sour cream in a packet and informed me they only have Tabasco for a sauce. Food was just ok. Our waitress didn't speak much English. So it was very hard to communicate our order. 2 out of 4 of our plates came back wrong, but we didn't complain. My husband does not like refried beans so when he orders his smothered burritos he orders them with no beans inside the burrito or on the plate. The first couple times coming they have gotten his order right, however we came here a couple weeks ago and he ordered the same thing he does every time and there were beans inside the burrito, the main waitress took it back but acted like she was put out. We thought we would give it another shot, so we came in on 5.23.2024 and he ordered the same thing and again there were beans inside his smothered burritos. the food is mediocre, the service was awful, we was seated as I watched to only waitress in the restaurant take the orders for people seated after us because apparently she know them, she spent several minutes just chatting with them totally ignoring everyone else. the bus person was delivering food to the other table while she was busy chatting. This was my first time ordering from this location. I usually go to the one off of 3300 and state and they're amazing. The food arrived and it was barely warm, that wasn't due to the delivery time since as you can see from the photo the cheese wasn't even melted. The sauce was more watery than the other location and the rice wasn't cooked all the way through, kept getting crunch bites of rice. The chips and salsa were the only good thing. The front counter boy, a teenager, not the most pleasant. What is it with teenage workers these days! Anyway, or waitress, Letty is awesome. So quick, so friendly. Greys the order right and brings the drinks and refills quickly before you even ask. Ford is great, the flour tortillas are thick, and delicious. Just walking into the restaurant I felt an unfriendly atmosphere. I ordered pork chile verde enchiladas and between the two enchiladas there was one small piece of pork. The sauce tasted good but they were basically cheese enchiladas. The waitress, busboy and cashier all gave off a bad vibe and were not cheerful or kind. Service was slow and the ambience of the place took on an air of animosity and I will never go back. Staff was unfriendly, food was not good and the place was empty except for my friend and one other table. I can see why it was empty. read more

Not very good. Couldn't figure out how they can maintain their location with such bad Mexican food with all the competition near by with much better food and prices. Walk in and waitress seats us pretty quick. Wings the basket of chips on the table and a condiment squeeze bottle full of puréed sauce. It was pretty good sauce but was NOT salsa -1 for no salsa. Chips are cold and not freshly fried. I ordered a shrimp fajita. The vegetables barely touched the skillet. They would be crunchy enough for a garden salad and there was zero spices. No cumin, garlic, NOTHING. The shrimp has tails on, awkward trying to dig through the mixture before filling a shell. It came with rice & beans with cheese, a couple strips of iceberg lettuce and a dollop of sour cream and guacamole. The tortillas were the THICKEST ones I'd ever seen. I just left those. Now since I'm hungry I just eat the stuff in the plate with a fork. About half way through, I bite into flesh. I almost had a heart attack. I thought I'd bit a a rat. I spit it out. -100 for that! My husband had a beef burrito he asked for rice and beans, waitress wrote it down, but didn't bring. He asked if it was coming she questioned if he'd ordered it. She came back with it and said yes she had written it down. His burrito was wrapped in the thick tortilla, he took a bite and unwrapped it, dumping the contents on plate to eat. Waitress brought rice and beans. He picked at those. He said it's EVERYTHING you'd get in a can. We just ask for bill. Waitress asked if my margarita was good. It was frozen and VERY sweet. The lime was rotten. Since I thought she was talking about food, I told her it was bad and about rat meat, she looked at my plate and said it was "probably" something. If she's not sure then it's a rat to me. The whole experience was awful. The outside looked good and convenient but really belies the food. Usually I love this place but this time was not enjoyable. Cashier had attitude with everyone, arrived and it was busy no problem I understand a wait to be seated. Sat down and waited 30 minutes for drink by this time it has slowed down only 5 other tables and in total waited an hour and 45 minutes for food. People who came after me had food before I did after another 30 minutes of waiting for a check I finally had to grab my own box (not that huge of a deal) but the fact I was here for almost 3 hours got served after everyone else and had to ask 3x about my food and kept getting told it would be out next and still ended up waiting almost 2 hours was ridiculous. The waitress on one occasion stayed on her phone and ignored us. I went tonight and the same waitress charged me 5.00 more for our meal. She added smothered burrito with Cheese and onions and a hamburger and fries and did not write the prices of the items she just put a total of 20 and some change on the receipt. I question it and the sweet young man at the register confirmed the error. She has no personality and I consider myself a regular there but if she is our waitress the next time we will walk out. I don't know what's wrong with this location, but when I order my smothered Chile verde burrito. It's just Chile verse sauce and literally 2 little pieces of pork ‍. The tortilla is always stiff and has hard spots. The sauce has no flavor I'm super bummed out and definitely not giving them my business anymore. Ive been coming here for the past 4 years. Steadily, it has been on a decline . I can tell they put the food in an oven/microwave . Its always extremely hot when it comes out, and is really oily . Rice was undercooked too. Yet, my girlfriends was fine... Not too authentic. The cheese basically saves it by being heated up the entire time. Today i went in to give it another try. They left my plate under the warmer too long , i could tell. The chicken was dry, sauce was oily , cheese was burnt on edges. I shouldve sent it back. But i know it would just happen again to someone else . This was the last straw. I used to cook. Theyve become lazy, and i know they profile . The attitude in service is mediocre. Let me start off with the good. The food is okay. It's not great, but okay. I'm not sure how you can have spicy bland food, but they have accomplished just that. The bad. The restaurant is small and has windows down two sides. The windows have no coverings so those sitting next to the windows get "baked" if the sun is out. This also makes the restaurant too hot. The food took forever. My drinks were not refilled at all! Once the food came out we didn't see our waitress until we received the check.
