This restaurant is like a mile away from my house. Why have I not eaten here before today?! I ended up ordering the mixed ceviche plate to go. Wow, is it delicious! I've never actually eaten ceviche at a restaurant, I've always made it at home! This place is awesome! It's got raw shrimp and fish. If you know me at all, I LIVE for raw seafood. :) It also comes with all the fix ins, like chips, limes, and hot sauce. I had the grilled shrimp and the flavor was amazing, though I wish I had a little more. Prices were a little high for some dishes without a lot of quantity, but justifiable for other dishes. Brightly lit family atmosphere, not a lot of frills - but there was a dj there playing music on a keyboard. Not busy for a Saturday night. I saw a 4 star rating this I decided to try it out. When I arrived the outside looked run down not properly maintained. I went in and I was greeted with a smile. I ordered fish ceviche tostada with avo and shrimp/octopus coctel. When the order came the tostada had avo and the coctel had avo. It says in the menu ($1.00) for avo on each item. Not a big deal if she brought the avo on both items. The problem was that the avocado was old (see pic) and spoiled on both items. I was charged $2 for spoiled avocado. Terrible. Then the waitress dropped off the food and NEVER came back. I had to go to the counter for my bill. In addition, they charged $1.01 surcharge for using my credit card which the was NO sign advising the customer of this charge. I did hear the cook and the waitress chitchatting on the back. I don't think I will be back. BTW, the shrimp and the octopus was cooked perfectly. The fish ceviche was just right. Too bad service was lousy. read more

I've been here several times and they are pretty good but not consistent in their seafood quality. I typically like their ceviche. But my wife and I got a plate of oysters one time and they were not good. Just not good. Room temp, not fresh tasting. On their better days they are good. The horchata was a bit too sweet for me but it was pretty tasty overall. There is a slight language barrier with speaking with the servers, but we got through it pointing at pictures in the menu. Loved our late lunch here yesterday afternoon. My husband had the asada burrito & I had the shrimp chimichanga. They serve a fish soup that is really tasty for starters with chips/salsa. My chimichanga was full of flavor and I loved the sauce that was inside. Mm food was devastating i dont know if i order a ceviche de camaron tostada or a tostada de verduras cause there was hardly 7 pieces of shrimp and a coctel de camaron i had to go fishing to caught some shrimp in the cocktail. I was actually on my way to a different restaurant on the day I stopped here. But when I arrived they were closing, so I said, "How about I try this Mariscos Ensanada?" And I'm SO glad that I did. Great portions, lots of choices, giant margaritas, fantastic food, and friendly servers. I have never had Mexican food this wonderful. I had the calamari steak, which was amazing. In fact, I couldn't finish it all and brought it home. The following day, I heated it up in the microwave and it was still amazing. If you're anything like me, you've got this weird thing where you assume all the restaurants close to your house are bad, just because they're close. Like, if the restaurant is any good i'm going to have to drive for at least ten minutes to get there, right? Wrong. I've lived within walking distance from this restaurant since the day it opened I don't know how many years ago, and I've always driven past it, totally ignoring it. Maybe it's because the words "Seafood Restaurant" are plastered all over the walls, and I have a huge seafood allergy.. yeah that's probably it. Well one day I turned to the old yelp-o-sphere to see if there were any new Mexican restaurants I hadn't heard about yet and I saw this place pull up. Before I realized where it was I had already been convinced by the dozens of 5 star reviews to try it out. Walking into this restaurant was like walking into a really well kept secret, kinda like walking into Red Iguana before it exploded into popularity. Everyone kinda looks up at you as you walk in like "oh cool, you made it before there's an hour wait to get in." Now if you'll remember from before I have a serious seafood allergy, and this place is like 95% seafood. So when I first looked at the menu I didn't think I'd be able to stay. But after close inspection I managed to find two options. A steak burrito and a chicken enchilada. I actually ended up having an issue with my order, they sent me home with a shrimp burrito instead of my steak burrito. I brought it back and they were super nice about the whole situation and let me keep the shrimp burrito. I obviously can't eat it so I gave it to my dad and he claims is was literally good enough to die for. I can say the same about the steak burrito, and my girlfriend would say the same about the chicken enchiladas. So, the next time you're going down Redwood Road and you pass by a restaurant with a giant whale on the front with the words "Seafood Restaurant" in giant letters. You have to speak Spanish to get service here. We pretty much pointed out what we wanted & winged it. But we still got overcharged $10/$15 more. Water request had to asked for twice. No salt/pepper at the table. Either they are adding the tip themselves but it's very dishonest. More so if you don't speak Spanish. read more

My wife and I have been coming here for years. Every thing on the menu is good. We go down to the Baja quite often and the food is very similar to what you get down there. My personal favorite is the fish and shrimp skewers. The enchiladas are also very good. Service here comes with a smile, very friendly staff. So I want to give this place 4 stars because the food is 5 star worthy. However.. The experience was a tad uncomfortable. I do not speak Spanish. There was a time in my life when I considered learning, and I somewhat regretted it walking into this place. We walked in and could feel all these eyes on us immediately giving us the ole "up and down". We picked the least threatening look table to sit at and waited. The server spoke perfect un-accented english but didn't seem happy to do so. My husband had a chicken burrito and I had a seafood chimichanga which I must saying was FABULOUS. I found out about this place from a friend and it's now one of my favorite spots. This is a local place and the authenticity can be vouched for by the high percentage of hispanic patrons. The best dishes seem to be the over the top seafood options. Our party had a whole fish dish and another large variety dish which were all great. I ordered the Seven Seas dish. Its a soup/stew with clams, crab, muscles, squid and a few other things. It's huge, great tasting, fun to eat and inexpensive. They serve a variety of drink options, including my favorite bottled Sangria. The wait staff are very attentive, the service is quite quick and the parking situation is pretty good. It's not a large location, so I wouldn't take a party over six or so people, but for anything else, it's a great seafood trip. read more

If you're in a group, get the large serving and share as an appetizer. Just peel and eat for messy fun. Sometimes the music is rather loud. This small little Mexican restaurant is truly a wonderful stop for authentic awesome food. Menu is in Spanish and English but I saw mostly Hispanic people in there which is too bad because you can't pass up food this good. The salmon Diablo was incredibly delicious and I have not ever had it this way. We also had great fresh Oysters on the half shell and butterfly shrimp. The tomato based soup had a nice zing to it also. Beer only. Great mariachi band plays there also but I am not sure of their schedule. They were playing when we arrived. Wow is all I can say. Great service, the best Camarones Zarandeados I've ever had. A spicy and creamy sauce on top of shrimp with red onions, tomatoes and cilantro served with beans, rice and a small house salad and a warm consomé and corn or flour tortillas. I was spiced out but so good I couldn't stop eating. My husband got a coctel de camarón. It was delicious. And to top it off a nice big MICHELADA served with salt and tajin on the rim. Had to ask twice for a drink refill after it sat empty for far longer than acceptable. When I ordered my meal I informed my server I would most likely be ordering a dessert. After getting and eating my meal I sat with an empty plate and was ignored for over 15 minutes. Server walked past me many times stopping at all the other tables multiple times but ignored me.
