As pet-friendly hotels go, this place is pretty nice. The check-in process was very smooth, the gentleman at the desk was courteous and efficient, the room is spacious and clean with a mini-fridge, iron and ironing board, a desk, a nice selection of channels on the TV, all hard surface flooring, and a spacious bathroom. The hotel is very convenient to I-95 and there are tons of restaurants in the area. The only negative is the price. AAA price with tax came in at $119. I might just be old, but that seems high for such basic accommodations. I don't expect to ever need a room in Florence again, but if I do and I'm traveling with my pup, this place will likely get my business again.

Night-shift Staffs were nice. However, it was a horrible stay. Air conditioner kept waking us up every 5-10 mins. The bed sheets had stains and some hairs on both beds. There were stains on the ceiling like water accumulation. Shower curtain had red stains like blood or makeup foundation(i hope). Hairs on each pillow. Bed sheets made us itchy. Overall, i do not recommend!

    Recharging at La Quinta!

I stopped here on a drive from NY to FL. The hotel is located next to a Shoney's. The young lady who greeted me at the desk was polite and efficient. My first impression of the hotel was that it looked updated and modern. The room was spacious and clean. I was using la quinta rewards points, so it was a free stay, but I think this hotel usually costs $75-90. They do have a free breakfast, but the waffle I had did not taste right and I had to throw it out after a bite. I suspect something was wrong with the mix, maybe too much water. Wish I had been able to eat it! I'm knocking off stars because I feel like this area might be iffy. I am a female and was traveling alone, I felt perfectly fine inside the hotel, but use common sense when outside. There is a gas station a couple of buildings away and there were some vagrants hanging out there even during the day. After driving 800+ miles alone over two days, all I wanted was a nice hot shower to soothe my stiff back. It was 9:30 PM, I was exhausted, but excited for that shower. I got in the bathtub and the water was lukewarm and not warming up at all. At this point I just wanted to settle in and sleep. I assumed I would end up having to change rooms, so I didn't call the desk. The thought of dragging my items and dog to another room was not appealing. I mentioned the shower problem the next morning when I was checking out and I was told you have to put it in the knob in the middle. I'm sorry, but that's not how faucets work in the USA. The result is I left here having barely showered since the water was not warm enough. Perhaps the staff could tell guests at check in or put some kind of sign in the bathrooms. The woman at the front desk told me the shower knobs were messed up when the contractors had renovated. Not a great stay. This would have been a 3.5-4 star experience if the shower handle had worked properly.

So we finally wrap up our NY trip and was heading back to our home in South Florida. Since we had a good time at the La Quinta at Charleston on the way up to NY, I decided to book another night here at this La Quinta Inn right off I-95. The main reason why I picked La Quinta is because it's one of the very few Pet-Friendly hotels. They don't charge you extra for your fur babies, and do not require a pet-deposit. So naturally I thought it's pro-pets and pro-pet-owners, but apparently I was wrong. To be fair, the room itself seems nice and clean. But I didn't appreciate their customer service. We left our doggies in our room so we can grab a quick bite. While we were dinning, I got a all from the hotel front desk saying our pet was barking and they have received a few complaints. I apologized and told the staff we are just about finishing our dinner and we will be back very soon. We got back to our room in about 15 minutes, and soon after we got back, I got another call in our room. The same staff called us again and told us about the complaints. Well I heard you the first time thank you very much. I also apologized for our dogs and our dogs stopped barking after we got back, so what more do you want. And this time the call was very unfriendly, almost rude in my opinion. This staff sounded very pissed off at us she almost wanted to kick us out. I am sure most dog owners knows sometimes you can't stop your dogs from barking after you leave the room. And, at the time we left the room, its not like we left the dog barking at mid night. It was only around 8pm and most people left their TV volume louder than our dogs. I just wish they could handled this more professionally.

Absolutely avoid this place! I book reservation 5 days in advance. Asked to charge my card so we can be sure room will be there upon arrival. Sure enough, when we arrived at 10pm there were no rooms available. This is second LaQuinta which does this trick. They were turning back everyone and explaining as they are short stuff!!!

hair in the sheets and dirt, nasty shower, my socks were black just walking around maybe four feet without shoes on looked down at the remote and saw this...

No big towels, remedied by front desk. Pee splatters on toilet seat. Smeared up mirror. Dog food and grass, fur on floor. Gross, uncleaned room. Go somewhere else!

This place is dirty and it smells like a dirty kennell. We were here a year ago and it was much cleaner. Won't be coming back ever.

Decent place - quiet - friendly staff - one of the rooms could have used a bit of maintenance but all in all was a positive experience.

Inside the lobby area is a small snack area for purchasing items and free coffee + tea area with sugar station and hot water. The check in process was extremely fast and friendly. The elevator is very much a ride at Universal Studios with a rocky screech landing. But safe overall is kinda funny tho but not. The hallways were clean and well kept. The room was very spacious and I liked that they had a shelf to put your key cards and luggage. They had spacious desks, lots of lighting throughout and a dual shade option to blackout the room for sleep. The coffee/tea bar has a Keurig maker, but leaked mini water bottles to make the coffee. The beds were comfy and the shower was good. The bathroom lighting is quite harsh but there is a motion censored nightlight. By the TV is a cool curved touch light with European outlets. There are plenty of outlets with both standard and USB outlets. The only tiny thing i would add is a charging pad on the counters in case ppl forget their chargers. TIP: Turn the knob all the way to the left to get to the hot water. Now let's talk breakfast - skip it if you like cool lackluster potatoes and eggs. The only saving grace is the coffee, instant oatmeal, oikos yogurt, and dry cereals. There are also a few places to eat up the road if bfast is important. TIP: If you go behind the breakfast area in the main lobby area, you can sit in a less crowded area near the business center. Check out was just as fast and easy. I've would definitely go here again!

Self parking is $5 per day, and is located across the street from the hotel. A helpful tip would be to unload baggage before parking if you have any heavy/large suitcases. While the walk is just a couple of hundred yards, it may be difficult on an especially hot or rainy day. After check-in, we went to the room which was the standard Hyatt Place layout - a comfortable bed with a reasonably sized TV, a small sofa and functional bathroom.. I enjoyed the water pressure and temperature of the shower. The next morning, we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast with eggs, bacon, fruit and coffee. The lobby itself is large and beautifully appointed, with a full business center and pods for individuals to work. Hampton Inn Florence Room 428 | Monday, February 16…read more I'll let the other reviews handle the standard checklist items. I'm here to talk about the subjective stuff -- the comfort factors that can make or break a night on the road. The king bed? MASSIVE. Basically a campground for two adults. Plenty of space, very comfortable. Now the nuanced bits. The room had more ambient light than I prefer -- tough to get it fully dark. The pillows were small and slightly lumpy, and the sheets felt thin. Shower water pressure was mid, and the hot water didn't quite reach my personal "steam therapy" setting. Towels were a 6-7 out of 10: softer than DoubleTree, but not as oversized. I do travel prepared, though. I've got an Amazon sleep mask that is straight-up lights-out defense. Once I put that on? Out cold. And just when I thought the sleep mask had secured the victory, two trains decided to blast their horns at 1:40 a.m. and 4:41 a.m. ‍ Bottom line: solid for a one-night stop. But if you're sensitive to light, pillows, or shower pressure like I am, those details matter.
