Hotel elevator inoperable. Had to walk up 4 flights of school with luggage. The hotel made no apologies and did not reduced the rate. I have bad knees a d it was extremely difficult to walk up and down the stairs. Secondly there was a entrance door that would not lock so sevurity was lacking. I will never stay at a LaQuinta again. It is gross, smelly, poorly maintained, lacks clean sheets and towels. The manager lied about multiple things. Refused to compensate. The shower didn't drain and we were told to take showers the next day. Three people in a 4 person room with only 2 towels. First was told no clean towels, then found an extra bath sheet, hand towel and wash cloth- they smelled like they were not washed. Smoking is allowed despite what is said- we were hot boxed all night by someone on the floor. Hair on the toilet and on the "clean" sheets. Bugs crawled out of the sink. Just nasty and should not be considered. Also if safety is important, the doors to the back parking lot have no lock- open to anyone to walk in. No key card necessary. You can access the whole hotel from there, And the mildew smell everywhere is just awful. read more

Night Manager threatened to call the Police on me simply because I wanted to sit in the lounge/lobby to eat fruit and read my emails. She said, "the lobby is for eating breakfast only, not for eating. You eat in your room." So she called the police. I am a guest. read more

This hotel is disgusting!!!! you can tell they basically change the sheets and empty the trash and refills towels. Carpet was dirty, ice pale DIRTY, shower was dirty and had hair in inside. The elevator doesn't work so you get to carry all bags up 2 or 3 + floors. I have a video of a roach crawling on the wall and killed two baby roaches. The place is NASTY. They have the nerve to be charging full price with all the inconveniences!!!! I didn't even bother complaining because the alternative is maybe a few free nights? No thanks I cut my losses and said NEVER AGAIN!!!! I requested late check out at 12 noon and then had three different people knock on my door for checkout before 12. Trust me if this is your option because other places are booked, LOOK AROUND SOME MORE! the room smelled liked there was water damage and the tried cheap methods to air it out before booking again. However, that damp smell was very strong and at that point it was too late at night to find another room. IF YOU FIND A REASON TO BOOK THIS ROOM, ONCE YOU'RE INSIDE YOU WILL CERTAINLY REGRET IT. Though my room was not on an upper floor, still I was subjected to seemingly non-stop "doors slamming," as well as l communications (often via arguments), due to "Downed Elevator!" By absolutely no means do I say this casually either! Mainly because I gathered no sense of urgency to even have it repaired ! Dirty. Cluttered with long term transient guests rearranging rooms and leaving boxes of belongings and trash in the hallway. Overwhelming smell of cheap cleaning solution everywhere. Breakfast had one pot of decaf and on regular which was gone by 7:30am and no staff at the desk to attend to the issues And "mandatory" $100 incidental charge that will be removed "later". Hotel say no smoking, but your guests suggest different. Our floor smelled of smoke and marijuana. It wasn't too bad in the room, until it would somehow make its way in. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone with kids for certain. We have more trips to this area soon and will not be staying here. read more

The great- my room was clean, property was kept up and staff were wonderful (friendly, professional and efficient). Lots of parking and easy access to 95/695. First off, let me say that for about $10 more than Red Roof Inn this hotel is in far better shape, cleaner, more pet friendly and has more professional staff. I can't speak to the breakfast as I didn't partake. I believe the pool is closed (but I don't use that either). I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again on my return trips. The area seems pretty safe and it is close to Hopkins (about 20 minutes from downtown) and only about 12 minutes away from White Marsh Mall. I definitely believe their ratings should be a bit higher compared with other hotels. read more

We came for an overnight stay and we're comfortable in our room. It looks like they had recently undergone some renovations. We were greeted by staff when we came in door. They were helpful and courteous. We booked a king bed room and it came with a recliner which my husband was very content with. Our room was on the second floor.. view of parking lot. The pool they have on premises was an outdoor pool but it was closed.. looks like it's been closed for awhile. They had decent gym area and a few outdoor seating areas under an umbrella to give some shade.. not extravagant by any means but it suited our needs. Breakfast served in mornings 6am to 9 am you could have cereal items, make a waffle or get scrambled eggs and sausage.. toast and bread items included..nice seating at breakfast area.. charging areas too on tables in lobby. Our bed was comfortable.. we had a small walk in shower but they provided dove lotion, soap and dispensed dove shampoo conditioner and shower gel in the shower stall. Not in the best area but for an overnight it seemed decent. read more

Two and a half stars ... Stopped here on the way to NC. We stopped late and really just needed a bed for the night and for that, it was adequate. The rooms are very basic 6/10 for cleanliness - there were crumbs on the carpet and fluff on the bathroom floor. Only three towels for a four person reservation and those "bath towels" were hand towels!! The "continental breakfast" was awful! I actually believe the food was yesterday's. My daughter went to make a waffle but when dispensed the batter split into batter topped with a murky watery liquid. I told her not to eat the boiled eggs that were sitting because of freshness concerns! There was one type of cereal ... lucky charms!!! There were bagels which ended up being my (only) choice with "buttery tasting spread" (48% oil). The front desk clerk was wonderful and tried his best to correct someone else's lack of attention to their task. He also refunded us $25 on checkout which was really nice. The three stars are mostly for him. Won't be returning. read more

I stayed here 1 night in September 2023 and it was a very solid stay. The location is near some retail plazas with lots of fast food options and a grocery store nearby. The price was excellent at $100 night (tax included). The room and lobby was very clean and modern. The breakfast very good too with eggs, sausage and pancakes. The general manager even came over to us at breakfast to say good morning and see how our stay was. I would recommend this hotel and stay again read more

A lot of the reviews are 5 star and 1 star. Meh. I can't see anyone getting so emotional over this place. The hotel is older, but it's clean. I thought the staff was nice. It's right off the highway; I wouldn't call the area sketchy. This is a place you stay at when you're on the highway and it gets too late to drive. You just want to find a clean, cheap place to stay for 7 hours before continuing your drive. The room had a microwave, a fridge, and a coffee maker. Room was clean. People were friendly. Who the heck would complain about that? Is it "Eeks methinks not"? No, it's not. Is it "As good as it gets"? No, don't be silly. It's good, and there's nothing wrong with being good. One thing that could be better. When we checked in, we were given 3 menus for local eateries for dinner. All three were seriously sub-standard pizza places. Maybe this is the NYC-elite snob in me, but none of them looked particularly appetizing and the one we ordered from, Pizza Sauce Rosedale, was horrendous. The hotel should look for better restaurants to hand out menus from. Want a place to sleep / rest from driving? This place fits the bill. I wouldn't hesitate to spend 7 hours here again. read more

Also, the manager down to the cleaning ladies are very nice, and Darrien & Diana has helped me with my stay, and if I need anything they are quick to make sure it's done. But I can say for any travelers this would be a quiet and comfortable stay because it has been for me. Also for the area, there is a Walmart across the street plus plenty of restaurants, and a Wawa close by also. read more

This property is sub-par! We are here for a large family celebration and were disappointed from the time we entered the hotel. 1. The elevator has been down for some time prior to us checking in so we had to lug large check-in size luggage and supplies up three flights of stairs! 2. The 'free breakfast' included The Most Limited options I have ever seen in a, breakfast included hotel. 3. The hotel itself is VERY dirty And stinks!!! The rooms are unclean, the stairwells. are dirty and stinky, etc. We called to have maintenance come fix the toilet as it has been running since we walked in the door! Someone came to fix and they were unable to fix it and never sent anyone else to follow-up so it has been running ever since! 4. When we returned to the hotel last night, the rooms had not been cleaned (we were not informed that they do not clean the rooms daily). 5. Perhaps the worst part of our stay was interacting with the front desk manager who was extremely rude!! We requested a late check-out and after being told last night be the front desk person that we could check out at 12:00, she told us we would have to pay for another night if we wanted to stay beyond. 11:30, in a very rude manner. I returned to my room to get my credit card to pay for the room and she completely ignored us (twice) when we went to pay. When I went back down to pay for the room, her tone completely changed because apparently the real manager was then on the premises. All of a sudden the front desk manager changed her tune and granted our request for a late check-out. This woman was a complete fake and we did not appreciate her nasty attitude, especially given the poor condition of the hotel! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY with this establishment! read more

The elevator door is broken and only opens 40% of the way. All but one ice machine is broken. There is a strong smell of marijuana. Breakfast starts at 7am which is too late for a lot of business travels. It's a little cheaper than some other hotels in east Baltimore, but it is NOT worth it. Awoken at 5:15am by police pounding on a nearby room yelling "Open Up!" Could hear a man being placed under arrest screaming to see a warrant. This went on for 15 minutes, and then we heard another officer yell to get a key for another room. Looking out our window, we saw one marked car and at least 5 black unmarked vehicles. Things eventually quieted down and I called the front desk repeatedly to see if it was safe to leave. No one ever picked up the phone. We scrambled out of there as fast as we could. As we were pulling out, several black unmarked vehicles were coming back into the parking lot. Needless to say, we are never going back. read more

I'm going to round up because I think the reviews so far don't really take the price per night into account. Also, note that I paid the government rate of like $110/night (including tax). Basically, this is the kind of place you stay when you need somewhere to sleep in between work. I was at a conference in Edgewood but my dog's daycare is in Baltimore, so this was a reasonable half way point as my company would not reimburse a stay in Baltimore city proper. Pros: -dog friendly. This and location were literally the decision makers for me. -relatively clean--hard wood floors, albeit a little dusty, but great when there's dog traffic. -friendly staff (seriously. everyone I dealt with was at the very least polite, if not friendly and personable. -free parking. -awesome water pressure in the shower. seriously, best part of my day. -lots of lamps with outlets (this is important when you're on the ground floor and can't leave the curtains open for natural light). -wifi was excellent. Cons: -I agree that the area is shady as all hell. Don't hold that against the hotel. You're in baltimore. Literally the ghetto capital of the USA, maybe only second to Detroit. Be aware of your surroundings and don't make yourself a victim. [don't leave anything in your car]. -AC was kind of meh. It was in the 60s/low 70s during the time that I was in the hotel. The AC was functional but if I tried to leave the fan on at all times it would make strange "all aboard the struggle bus" noise, so it made me weary of leaving it on all day/night. -The complementary breakfast is a hit or miss. Sometimes they had fresh fruit, sometimes they didn't. The coffee was basically piss water. -Bedding was basically garbage. I suggest bringing your own pillows. read more

I much prefer to write good reviews. And I will say that the front desk staff was pleasant. Also, the grounds were well maintained and the lobby/hallways were fine. But the room simply smelled bad. Really bad. I stayed there for three nights. I was supposed to stay a fourth night, but when my meeting ended early, I took the opportunity to leave. Housekeeping should have told management about the smell and done something about it before letting guests spend the night in the room. The hotel was not full. I also noticed that the toilet hadn't been cleaned under the rim for some time. After walking on the laminate floor just a bit, the bottoms of my feet became dirty. Experiences like this give a poor impression of La Quinta Inns. My roommate, who never complains about hotel rooms, asked, "Why does this room smell like feet?" read more

Just was remodeled. Very nice. Quiet area, although going right across the street it isn't exactly the best.

The inn is ok for the budget minded. The room is small and the bathroom is at least clean. The free internet service and free breakfast are reasons why it the inn gets two stars. One good point is that there's a shopping strip with a Walmart, McDonalds, Home Depot, Marshalls, etc. directly across the street. But venturing out during the evening hours may not be the safest thing to do. I would not recommend this inn to friends. read more

First of all the hotel is in Rosedale, NOT Baltimore, so Your GPS will have a tough time getting you here. However, Sam, at the front desk has the patience of a saint so he will help you find the place. (Signage at the driveway would help too). The room had an old holiday Inn kinda feel , but was very clean. There was a coffee maker in the room, missing its cover for the water well, but it was nice to make a cup. Rated on the bed alone it would've been a 4 or 5. Super Comfortable and the pillows too. I'd stay here again. The good far out weighed the bad. read more

Do NOT stay here. We lost our key and the girl at the front desk didn't ask for identification when issuing a new key. She just asked our room number...punched it into the key maker and handed us the key. VERY unsafe. This hotel is gross. Business travelers need WIFI, but this La Quint doesn't have it. Or at least not WIFI that works. I tried connecting an iPhone, iPad and a laptop. Nothing would work. The surly guy at the front desk would not re-boot the modem and router. Instead gave a number to call for help. Nonsense. Fortunately my iPhone has hotspot as a feature and I connected to that instantly. Other problems: Terrible "breakfast." End up going to MacDonalds. The hotel is severely dated; needs rehab. The hotel it's self is old but clean! The area however was very sketchy, I would NOT stay there with my family again. I was very worried about my roof cargo and car allll night. I had a man approach me and offer me drugs in the parking lot (not making this up!) and people were coming in and out the side doors alll hours of the night. If I could have given a lower rating I would have. Where do I begin? The manager Frank is rude to guests, that including long term guests who fill rooms for long periods of time. Oh yeah, you'll see signs posted around the property about belongings and valuables being left in cars. There is a reason, they're lacking in cameras and the their security guard who's only works 3rd shift sleeps through most of it in the breakfast room. Vehicles parked on either sides of the hotel have no cameras aimed towards them and with the sleeping security guard not patrolling, you may end up with a broken window or your car broken into and work truck locks bolt cut off with expensive tools, equipment, and other valuables stolen. It doesn't seem to be an isolated incident, it happens more often than I'd like to admit. For long term guests, youll notice that room service apparently happens when they feel like taking care of the room, unless you go down to the desk and ask for it. Those assigned days you chose at the beginning of your visit seem to become obsolete. My advice is to choose a better location, if your company is paying for your stay i wish the best of luck. read more

Made reservations weeks prior, asked for King Size / No Smoking room. Easy enough huh? Got there, watched the clerk explain to the guy in front of me that they overbook intentionally...swell. I had a room, it was on the 5th floor, the hallway stunk like nicotine. Our room stunk like nicotine. They were nice enough to bring up a ionizer and we kept it running the whole time. 3am we were woken up by a small crowd (5-6) sitting on the curb in front of the entrance, obviously drinking and getting into some heated/LOUD discussions.. Nobody from the hotel felt the need to quiet them down. The elevator is the slowest one I've ever ridden!! The staff could not exchange rooms for us, overbooked! And they told us that a non smoking room was only a request, no more than that. Well, if I reserved three weeks prior, and secured it with credit card..I would expect the same treatment as I've had at HUNDREDS of hotels over 30+ years of government and military travel. Though the room was clean, and the staff really well mannered and polite, I still won't come back here.. read more

After reading some of the reviews, I was concerned about staying here. I need not have worried. I opted for the lowest price point so I didn't get the microwave or mini-fridge. I did get a clean room with a comfortable bed. The room was well furnished and everything was in great condition. The free Wi-Fi worked like a charm on my laptop and tablet. The hotel is conveniently located next to a shopping center and has easy access to the internet. The next time I'm in the area, I will be sure to stay here again. read more

on arriving at this hotel for the 3rd stay in a month due to hospital procedures at the veterans hospital in baltimore,we were greeted after a 3 hour drive by a rude desk clerk who declared...you can not have birds in our pet friendly hotel....we then demanded she call the manager as we have had the birds(which by the way are 2 inch high caged birds) in the hotel twice without question...we were allowed to stay...they said dogs and cats only...we all know a dog or cat will do far less damage than small birds in a cage..lmao...if you look at this hotel and you have pets you better check first since policy is subject to change at the blink of an eye...there are several other la quinta properties in the area and we called them all and they have no problem with our pets...we have stayed in la quinta properties up and down the east coast and NEVER had a problem till now...go somewhere else!!!! read more
