What a gem of a Mexican restaurant! From their stacked salsa bar to their friendly service to their delicious potato tacos and everything in between, definitely don't sleep on this Mexican restaurant! Clearly, my favorite were the potato tacos, easily 10/10. We also ordered the carne asada fries- not your typical asada as this was not flank steak but grounded which was odd at first but still tasted really good.. Molten chili shrimp plate lol, super tasty but leaves your mouth on fire after every bite but we still cleaned the plate! And last but not least, the quesobirria tacos, flavorful, moist, oily, all the things... Next time we're in the area- this restaurant will be one of my first thoughts to dine at! SO GOOD; opens at 6 AM!! Came in at 8:45 ish and had a steady stream of customers. Amazing tasting food, great salsa selection. Westside does authentic. I came here for the recommended Torta Ahogada as their Pearl location rarely offers it. I like the vibe here just a bit more. Sandwich was excellent, and the salsa bar impressive. The sauce is blazing spicy. Prices are fair. Parking lot is kinda tight and nearby intersection one of busier in Tigard. This super lengua burrito literally had me in a singing mood. Packed with plenty of flavor and very sizable it was perfect for my Saturday morning! There is a lovely salsa bar with all the fixings and especially picked onions and carrots! There's plenty of seating inside, but the parking lot might get congested so be warned! We ordered the carne asada plate and the taco plate (your choice of meats for the tacos, we got beef, spicy pork, and chicken). Great place to get some good tacos and burritos. The interior is pretty simple, and you order at the counter. I liked that they have a sauce/condiments station. We ordered a couple of quesatacos and a Del Sol burrito with steak. The Del Sol burrito was their take on the California burrito. The burrito was excellent and we really devoured it. Best Mexican food I have found in the Portland area and as an LA girl I feel that carries some weight - even if just a little bit. Reasons why it's a must visit: 1. Delicious & fresh food. 2. Great prices even in 2023. 3. Salsa bar! 4. Refreshing and not overly sweet Aguas frescas (6 kinds). 5. Clean. 6. Friendly staff. 7. POZOLE! - My new favorite reason it's my go to spot. I have yet to find this delicious soup/stew anywhere since moving here and despite my best efforts, I haven't been able to replicate it at home. I got to the restaurant after work on a fairly raining night around 5:30pm. No one was inside, so I had my doubts that maybe the locals knew something about this place that I didn't. I proceeded to order. The person behind the counter was friendly, he gave me time to look-over the menu. I ordered the Carne Asada plate and a regular fountain drink to-go. The service was smooth and reasonably quick. Several person came and went, possibly phone orders or Door-dash pick-ups. As I left, this might be the only negative, Hall Blvd at this time of night has very heavy traffic. Trying to turn left from the parking lot took a bit of time and timing. Now for the important part, the food was excellent. The carne asada has such an awesome taste. I'm from the Oakland/SF bay area and we have some really good mexican food places, but this place has the best tasting carne asada I've tasted. The pickled carrots and peppers are really hot. I have gone to both of their food trucks, the one in Tigard by U-Haul and the other one in Newberg at the Jeep parking lot.
