    Creamy Lemon Pasta with chicken

Really enjoyed my Creamy Lemon Pasta with chicken! It was extremely creamy and the chicken was really good!

    Creamy Lemon Pasta
    Carlos P.

Visited with a couple of friends. The place is fairly new - opened about 8 months ago. It's in a prime location in Gables' famed Miracle Mile (right at the west end of it) and there's a conveniently located public parking garage in back of restaurant. Place is on the cozier side, but very chic and tastefully decorated - the feel is luxe. Aside from the main dining space and bar combination, which are small/medium sized, there's an ample outside terrace right on the strip, and a second floor private events room. Menu is adequately stocked - a little bit of everything and something for everyone, even if you are a vegetarian (one of my friends is). While prices have a wide range, in general, they are from good to competitive, especially for the area. We tried the French Onion Soup, the Pasta Vodka Love (pas de protéines - no protein), the Creamy Lemon Pasta (avec poulet - with chicken), the Chipotle Cauliflower Taco (l'option végétarienne) and the Churros Chimbombo pour le dessert. The vegetarian loved the tacos, and I have to say they looked appealing - visually there was plenty going on - in a good way. I'm sure he'd rate them a 5 out of 5 from the response he gave me when I asked. The Soup was good, but a little cold. They melted the cheese with the pot and hoped that would warm soup all the way through such a deep pot, but it was lukewarm inside - still, it was a decent soup and a large size, which for $14/18, it should be a sizeable portion (can't recall exact price but seemed pricey, so I'm tempted to say it was $18). It seemed to be made with a mushroom stock rather than a beef stock, but we asked and were told it was beef. I'd rate it a solid 4 out of 5. The Vokda pasta was délicieux - chef's kiss 5 out of 5. We got it with linguini - I think it's normally penne for them as well per the standard. The Creamy Lemon Pasta was magnifique - I asked for it with spaghetti instead of the penne it came with, but waiter forgot and brought it with the penne, which ended up being a happy accident because it was meant to be enjoyed best with penne. You DO need to squeeze the lemons they bring with it to get the lemon flavor, but it completely changes the flavor profile once you do that. The chicken had a nice charred flavor, but unfortunately it was a little overcooked and rubbery. I still won't hold it against them because it was so flavorful. Now, caution, while this dish is delicious, if you like lighter meals, attempting to eat the full portion may overwhelm your system. I'd rate it 4.5 out 5. We capped the meal with the Churros Chimbombo - these you can skip, there's nothing special about them and while most churros are greasy, if done well they shouldn't be, specially for a place of this caliber, and these were overwhelming greasy IMO - and that's from just a little bite - they come in 6 bite sized servings. While we didn't try it, the cheesecake sounded a LOT more interesting, but I forewent it because it had apricot sauce (I think) and I'm intolerant to apricot. Service was nice. We actually were served by the owner (more of a business man) who was filling in because they were short staffed. He was both good and bad: bad because he didn't know how to wait on customers well, but great because he very cognizant abd apologetic, and was super polite and entertaining by spending time with us telling us about his business ventures, specially this restaurant's. Overall, I'd rate this place at a solid 4.5 stars. If you have a date you want to take to a classy and nice place, this is a great choice.

This place is really cute inside. I went on a Saturday for brunch, and it was not very busy, but we were a party of 8. There were maybe 3 other tables at the time. The service was a bit slow, but it seemed everyone arrived shortly after opening, so it was understandable they suddenly got busy. We all got our meals pretty spread out, so some food got cold while we waited for other meals to arrive. The kitchen may have been suddenly overwhelmed with orders. The food was ok. Nothing was overly delicious in my opinion. Everyone was content, but nothing was a "wow". One big disappointment was the "chocolate mousse", which was like a small single serving of chocolate pudding. For the price... I would pass on this. I would give them another chance down the line. Maybe for dinner service though. It's really cute inside and the rush seemed to throw off the game. The menu had some good options that I'd consider revisiting with a smaller group.

had never heard of La Rosa before, but while searching for a cute spot for a Sunday girls brunch, I came across it and was immediately drawn in by how beautiful and stylish the place looked and how good the brunch dishes looked so we decided to give it a try. I'm so glad we did! The interior is absolutely gorgeous. It gave off the perfect vibe for a relaxed but elevated brunch. The drinks were great and the food was even better. I ordered the steak frites, which were cooked to perfection, flavorful, tender, and satisfying. One of my friends got the Mexican bowl, and the other had the octopus tacos. We were all satosifies with our dishes and agreed everything was delicious across the board. The only small downside was that one of our friends is gluten-intolerant. She was happy to see that gluten free pasta was listed on the menu, but unfortunately, it wasn't available when we ordered. It was a bit disappointing, but not a dealbreaker. Despite that, the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, even helping us out with strollers and being super patient with the babies who needed a high chair . Overall, La Rosa is a hidden gem in the Miracle Mile area. Beautiful space, great food, and a perfect spot for brunch with the girls. I'd definitely go back and next time, I hope they have that gluten-free pasta ready to go!

I live a few blocks from Miracle Mile so was super excited when this spot opened. Came to have lunch with my boyfriend recently but unfortunately, aside from the excellent service from our waiter Pedro & the decent cocktails, I was super disappointed. The restaurant itself is very nice, Hollywood-Regency on steroids & they have plenty of tables outside as well. The issues began as soon as I read the menu... croquettas, hummus, pastas, tacos?!? All on one menu? I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt so just chalked it up to a "Miami" driven menu (de todo un poco). Pretty brave for a new restaurant. If they are going to be that varied, they better make sure everything is perfection. SPOILER ALERT... that was not the case: -Branzino Ceviche: ok, but the mariquitas tasted if stale oil & the tropical ceviche itself was inexplicably seasoned with oregano. Weird. At least the fish, peppers & mango tasted fresh. - Lemon Pasta: Looked & tasted like a frozen dinner. Sauce was not bad but heavy on the cream & light on flavour. The chicken had what looked like fake grill marks & tasted like it too. - Cauliflower Tacos: The cauliflower was barely cooked & definitely NOT roasted. The spice was ok but not deep & developed, more superficial to cover up the fact that they weren't well cooked. Sadly, until this place gets over its's identity crisis, I probably won't be back. 3-Stars, almost entirely for Pedro.

If there's one dish that defines brunch perfection, it's the Eggs Benedict--and this restaurant absolutely nails it. The poached eggs arrived with yolks that were perfectly runny, The hollandaise sauce was the real star: smooth, velvety, and balanced.

This restaurant is beautiful, love the decor and ambiance. They were attentive to our needs. I ordered the chicken Alfredo pasta, one of the best Alfredo pastas I've ever had. I special ordered my espresso martini which was amazing.

Drinks took over 10minutes to get to the table, not alcoholic, waters, 1 soda, and 1 lemonade. Over 10minutes. Appetizers eventually came, no utensils, which I asked the hostess for, but the utensils made it AFTER the appetizer were finished and plates taken from the table. We ended up using our hands. Hostess advised she was still "working on getting the silverware" twice. How do you expect us to eat, no napkins, no linens, no silverware? Glasses ran empty, a friend in my party (6) ended up asking the hostess for a refill, which of course took a while as well. Though the restaurant was not busy, the food took forever. When it finally arrived, about half of the food was cold. Service was so slow, we couldn't even get it fixed...the server never came back until she asked if the checks were separate or together. I had a salad with tenders, the salad was nothing short of a bunch of spring mix, very little toppings, and tenders that tasted like they were made hours ago and didn't even bother to reheat. I asked whoever brought the food out for an extra dressing, but she never came back. I sat waiting for the server to switch my food but nothing, she'd walk past avoiding us. When she finally came to the table to ask about the checks, I told her I didn't want the salad, and she looked displeased and just walked away. I guess to have it taken off the check. Nonetheless, save yourself the poor service and eat at Yard House down the street. Menu and service are leads better than this place.

I try to be as honest as I can when leaving a review, and as I said in my original review, Batch had always been great our prior visits (food and service). I completely understand with the World Cup going on, that not everything will go smoothly. Thank you Batch for getting in touch, we'll be back. ********** Original Review: Previous experiences had been awesome at Batch. But last night (because of the World Cup?) it was NOT pleasant. 1-Our reservation, which was confirmed via texts (with an s), email, phone calls (also with an s), couldn't be found and when it finally was, we still had to wait another 20 minutes for a table. People who were in line WITHOUT a reservation (I know because I had asked them before I went inside) were seated while we were still waiting for our table!!! (Because there were 3 of them and "we were just 2"). 2-The music even with the SuperBowl is always on a decent level, where you can have a conversation. Last night it was horribly loud. It's a bar, not a nightclub. 3- After (finally getting seated), no one came to take our order. After waiting another 10 minutes we left. I gave 3 stars for the food (although we didn't get the chance to order any), because usually it's quite good. We left Batch, went to a restaurant, where we had a great time, excellent service, and exquisite food. All the while able to watch the game and have a conversation. I am leaving this review as a constructive feedback, because Batch in recent months was an otherwise nice place to go to. My advice: Don't chew more than you can swallow. Last night was chaotic and unpleasant.
