Love this place. I come here with my Mom and her girlfriends. Order the stuffed tostones appetizer and the croqueta preparada. Service was great and ambiance was even better.

We decided to have breakfast today at a place by our house when we got there they didn't have steak and eggs so we keep looking for breakfast places and found this place only 11 mins walk the food looked amazing so we gave it a shot and to tell you it was the best choice we made when we got here no one was here empty at 8am food was out right away the steak and eggs were amazing staff are super nice . Plus it has a Vicky next door yum We order the Bistec a Caballo came with cafe and Cuban toast really good I got a side of avocado and potatoes The Croquetas were amazing.

I've eaten at Off the Mile a few times now, and each visit has been consistent. The restaurant is pretty small, so either crowded or intimate, depending on how you look at it. The vaca frita de pollo is pretty good, but not the best I've ever had. There is a parking lot at the restaurant, which is not always the case in that part of Coral Gables and makes it much more convenient to visit. Service is friendly and quick, and the food is consistently good. The bathroom is also clean.

What a welcome surprise Off The Mile is to the Vicky Bakery Family! We stopped by the other morning for breakfast and will definitely be back. Off the Mile is a pretty small spot, with some outdoor seating as well as indoor. We opted for indoor because summer, and were greeted by the friendly server and warm tostadas. At this point, I was already crushing hard on Off the Mile. They have a small variety of items on the breakfast menu, but they are solid choices. I opted for the Traditional Spanish Breakfast which was eggs on top of Garbanzos with Chorizo and a Spanish hollandaise sauce. The hollandaise is what sold me on this, and it seems to be spread throughout the garbanzos in the cute little cazuela it's served in. Points to this dish for being both cute and tasty! For the breakfast, you can get eggs served any way. I asked for poached eggs and the server looked at my like I had 3 heads, but alas you must remember your audience so sunny side up was my final choice. Loved my breakfast choice! I also eyed the Bistec Al Caballo which came with a huge portion of steak, as well as the traditional Cuban breakfast. Breakfast for two, including delicious cafe con leches was around $20. Solid meal for a great price.

We had just gotten off our cruise ship and had driven through parts of Coral Gables reminiscing about growing up in Miami. After visiting Venetian Pool just to show my family one of my favorite places we needed to find a place to eat. So we needed a place to eat. My Aunt wanted to go to some place on Red and Bird roads but I used Yelp to find this little treasure!!! The service was fantastic. The five of us were all happy with our breakfasts. I love Cuban coffee and this didn't disappoint. The bathroom was clean. The server great. The food pretty good. The fresh squeezed orange juice was great too! The Cuban bread...yum. Would go back!!! Oh and it was less expensive than I would've thought for a place in coral gables.

I noticed people dining here as I was grabbing coffee at the Vicky's so I decided to give it a try for lunch today. This restaurant is owned and operated by the same owners as Vicky's Bakery. It has a cozy feeling with a wine rack, which gives this place a wine bar feeling. When I paged through the menu I noticed traditional Cuban dishes. I'm not sure why this restaurant is also dubbed as New Americana. However, the few patrons seated for lunch were also enjoying a glass of red wine, which makes sense---this is also a wine bar after all. The menu also has a breakfast section. I opted for a medium churasco steak with rice and beans. The chimichuri sauce was fresh and zesty and the meat was a nice cut seasoned well. Service was good. There is also a Facebook page for the restaurant. All in all, a very nice addition to our neighborhood.

Being that I live AND work in the Gables, there comes a time where i feel like I been & eaten everywhere & just want something new. Imagine my surprise when i discovered off the mile! Apparently, this place has been opened for three years just blocks from my home & i never knew. Even more exciting to learn that they had delivery! I called in, placed my order & waited excitedly. Delivery was quick & as soon as I opened the container, i knew i would love it. I had the "Classic Spanish Breakfast" (2 Fried Eggs, house potatoes, sautéed spinach & red peppers) I opted out of the chorizo as i love pigs & haven't eaten one on 13 years but did add whole wheat toast & a fresh squeezed orange juice. The whole meal was DELICIOUS, flavourful & very fresh. Will definitely be dining in soon and will continue to order delivery. Really excited to try more of their menu!

Authentic Cuban cuisine. Highly recommended. Had tostones hawaiñanos con Vaca Frita, Tropical Chicken with Mango sauce, and vaca frita de pollo. Very good.

Great place with outstanding food and service. The staff and chef are very attentive to make sure you are happy with every aspect of your meal. The seating is romantic enough for a date but friendly enough for a family. We had the Mahi Mahi Mariscada and the Mixed Seafood Ceviche with Octopus. Both plates were delicious!!! Hope you enjoy Off The Mile as much as we did.

The special of the day, Picadillo, was good, but very small portion. Left kind of hungry. Also for the amount of food, it was overpriced.

For our entrees, we all had the huevos Bulla and it was really good. For dessert, we shared the churros con chocolate and the hazelnut waffles. Both were delicious. The place was packed, and their pastries looked incredible at the front. The service was quick and attentive, which I liked for a weekday lunch. The pan con tomate could have been crispier and saltier, but other people at the table loved it. The hake on the business lunch was a total miss for me. The fish was overcooked, the sauce was flavorless, and it was this think gelatin like texture that really did not do it for me. Everyone at the table agreed, and the server took it back without question - nice. The paella was good! I thought the rice was cooked perfectly. The cochopo was GREAT and very unique, I'd never had that before. The standout dish was definitely the cuchinillo though - wow.

Everyone here is ready to eat well and have a lovely time. No sooner had we sat down, our server took our drink order and immediately brought it out. We chose a Spanish Urbión Rioja reserva wine and it was quite delectable. We also ordered 2 Coke zeros. For our starters, we selected: * 2 Chips de Berenjena. Eggplant chips, flash fried and drizzled with honey. These are the best!!! So delicious, we ordered 2 servings and everyone in the restaurant was ordering them. * Fried Calamari with a very tasty aioli sauce. * Gulas de Ajillo Baby eels cooked in garlic sauce and olive oil - delicious. This dish is very special to us because my Husband eats it every time we visit Barcelona. * Pulpo a la Plancha - Grilled octopus with creamy black rice made of calamari ink. The rice was excellent, absolutely luscious. * Pulpo a la Gallega. Boiled octopus and boiled potatoes drizzled with paprika and olive oil. For our Mains we ordered the * Filet Mignon with blue cheese sauce and boiled potatoes. This dish was just OK. The potatoes weren't seasoned, only boiled. The steak had no char and was overdone for a filet. My Husband also ordered * Patatas a la Giralda - their twist on patatas bravas with two homemade signature sauces. These were crispy, and delicous. Served underneath the 2 sauces. * I ordered Grilled Chicken with salad. I was taken aback by the server for food shaming me to order something pricier, not just basic chicken. That's not cool. I also got a side of * Patatas - fried steak fries, very crunchy paired well with our food. For dessert we had * Crema Catalana, which is a Spanish syle Crème brûlée. This dessert has probably been the smallest dessert I've ever ordered. Not to mention, the consistency, the taste and color was all wrong. It was as if you had a Jello vanilla pudding with a miniscule amount of hardened caramelized sugar. Definitely not getting this desert again. I'd like to try the Tarta de Santiago next time. Once our food arrived the Flamenco show began and it was glorious!! The lead male vocalist was phenomenal! His vocal range and guitar skills were admirable. The show began with singing first and then the dancer started. She was a personable, very talented dancer and performer. At one point she locked eyes with me and before I knew it I was up there dancing with her, which was so much fun! I really enjoyed this restaurant and recommend it to open minded people who enjoy food from Spain.

First things first: if you want their Spanish tortilla with chorizo, you have to order it ahead of time. Same-day they usually only have the regular tortilla available, so plan ahead -- and trust me, it's worth it. Thick, soft, perfectly layered potatoes and egg with that extra smoky chorizo flavor that takes it to another level. A true comfort dish done right. Their tortilla is one of their staples for a reason. We also ordered a variety of croquetas: jamón serrano, queso manchego, camarones, and bacalao. Honestly, all of them were good (and I mean all), but the bacalao croquetas? Wow. Next level. Super creamy inside, crispy outside, packed with flavor -- easily my favorite of the table. And because it was Mother's Day, dessert was mandatory. Everyone ordered something different: flan with almond ice cream, crema catalana, Basque-style cheesecake, and I went for the Tarta San Marcos. I'm not Spanish, so it was my first time trying it, and I was pleasantly surprised. It's made with layers of sponge cake, cream, chocolate truffle -- but somehow it doesn't feel too heavy. It paired perfectly with a cafecito and was the ideal ending to the meal. The place is small, cozy, and very authentic. I hadn't been in a while, and you can tell they've organized the space better -- the wine boxes and market area feel cleaner and more intentional, and there's a little more room to breathe. Service was super nice and welcoming. Overall, La Vasca is one of those hidden gems where the food feels as authentic as it gets. We had a reservation for a party of seven, yet the host was unwelcoming, dry, and made us feel more like an inconvenience than guests. We were told to "sit down" with no warmth or hospitality whatsoever. The ambiance was equally upsetting. For a Spanish taverna, we expected a lively, warm atmosphere--music, conversation, and a welcoming vibe. Instead, the restaurant felt dead silent, stiff, and uncomfortable. It was so quiet and stuffy that we didn't even feel comfortable speaking with each other. We enjoy fine dining, but this was absolutely not that experience. After receiving water, we waited--and waited--with no service and no acknowledgment from any staff member. Despite being a group of seven, no one approached our table for quite some time. Eventually, we felt so uncomfortable and ignored that we all got up and left. Even my mom, who waited to let the staff know we were leaving, had to walk away because no one bothered to come over. This is not what anyone should expect from a local Spanish restaurant that calls itself a tavern. It lacked hospitality, warmth, and basic customer service. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a welcoming, relaxing, or enjoyable family dinner. Truly underwhelming and upsetting--especially for a birthday celebration.

A restaurant that still comes to mind months later is usually doing something right, and this visit confirmed what we loved about our first experience. We made reservations without any issues a couple of days before. The restaurant was clean, bright, and had not filled up yet with the busy Sunday family crowd. Upon being seated, we were provided with the regular menu and the Miami Spice Lunch menu. The Miami Spice Lunch, which has now become a daily Executive Lunch special, is a standout value. The portion sizes and the quality of the Argentinian steaks speak for themselves. As a group, here's what we ordered: Starters - Ham and Cheese Empanadas - Morcilla - Grilled Provolone Each starter delivered exactly what you'd expect from an Argentinian steakhouse. The empanadas were warm and flaky, the morcilla was rich and well seasoned, and the grilled provolone came out bubbling and perfect for sharing amongst our table with the restaurant's complementary bread basket. Entrée: - New York Strip Steak, 12 oz This was the only cut of steak we ordered. It was cooked to each of our desired temperatures and seasoned simply, letting the quality of the beef speak for itself. It is clear why La Cabrera has a reputation as one of Latin America's best restaurants. Sauces on the side, which included a BBQ sauce, and a chimichurri, were left for our choosing and were used for the side dishes more than anything. Sides: - French Fries - Jasmine Rice Both sides complemented the steak well. The fries were crispy and large in size. My father-in-law, a cuban man who's very serious about his rice dishes, thought the jasmine rice was very good. Dessert: - Dulce de Leche Ice Cream with Cone - Dulce de Leche Pancakes The ice cream was smooth and rich, while the pancakes were finished with a sugary powder coating that was impossible to resist. This lunch reinforced why La Cabrera continues to be stand out in a crowded field of steakhouses. Between the consistency, generous portions, and the value of their daily menu specials, it's an easy recommendation whether you're bringing family, hosting someone from out of town, or simply looking for a great lunch in Coconut Grove.
