I don't generally care to write reviews on fast food restaurants, but I believe La Salsa deserves a little something working towards their benefit. The food always tastes fresh -- never too greasy or fatty like you might chance with a taqueria. I appreciate the innovative options and their constant updates. One of my favorites is the California chicken burrito that includes avocado chunks rather than guacamole. For a fast food chain, I like that the tacos resemble street tacos and are prepared in soft corn tortillas doubled up for security. Other preferences include the: La Salsa chicken tacos - not stingy with the meat portions Tortilla soup - lots of chicken and tortilla strips Where La Salsa really wins in my book though is the salsa bar. CHA-CHING! You have an unlimited supply of hot salsa, mild salsa, green, red... and you don't pay extra for avocada salsa, mango salsa, extra jalapenos and carrots... they are all at the bar for your endless enjoyment! read more

Delicious! Excellent customer service. I absolutely love the burrito, it was also grilled, so it had a really nice crunchiness to it. I really like Mexican coke and they had the big bottles (not the liter, but the bigger glass bottles 500 ml). Guadalupe was very friendly and I didn't have to wait long for the food. Easy in, easy out. The food is nothing to write home about, it's standard fake Mexican, but it's a step up from Taco Bell. My only complaint is that the salsa bar looked sad and dingy when I came in and there was a gnat or two or three buzzing around. Meh. Nice little place. Pros: self served soda, fillings/toppings such as sides for your chips & such. Clean & decent amount of tables. The manager was nice to give me free guacamole since my Group On was $20 worth of food, I spent $19.96, so I guess it was only fare to give me guacamole for free whereas only paying a few cents for it. Haha. Cons: No bathroom, but then again, this place is in a plaza & Starbucks next door also does't have a bathroom. I noticed there was a public bathroom right outside the Starbucks for the customers, but I still like the idea of a cafe/restaurant having they're own bathroom. It's cool though. I went in today expecting the same quality and customer service as the one in Union City. Unfortunately, I didn't get either. I wanted a quick bite to eat and decided to go to La salsa. First off the cleanliness of the restaurant was not up to part for any kind of food establishment. The tables were not clean, the floor was dirty, and the counter seemed cluttered with advertisements and old receipts. As I was deciding what I wanted and looked up at the menu, the young lady asked me 3 times what I wanted. I clearly was not standing directly in front of her but was stepped back a few steps from the counter so that if other patrons were to approach they could go ahead of me. There was no one behind me but yet the young lady taking the order seemed to be in a rush to serve me, not very welcoming, no greeting, just a "what can I get you". Very cold. Also as I placed my order I felt more rushed, every response from her was "what else" another rude response. I ordered a Los cabos shrimp burrito and a cheese quesadilla. The burrito had abou 4-5 small shrimp maybe like a U25 size shrimp. On too of that the burrito was poorly made, all the shrimp was at one side while all the other toppings were at the other end of the burrito. Also, I was expecting grilled veggies, but I got half cooked really strong onions and 2 pierces of bell peppers. Like I said very poorly made. The quesadilla was ok, but then again there was way too much onions in the guacamole and salsa. The salsa was mostly onions, 60% onions 40% tomato. So much onion the juices of the onions soaked into my quesadilla, running the flavor. At that, the tomatoes and onions were poorly diced inconsistent with size. I ate long slivers of onions and small dices. As a chef myself also working at a Mexican cafe, I would not allow product like this go out to my customers. When I did get my order and went to the salsa bar, I noticed that the bar was bing cleaned, all the salsas were sitting out of ice just on a counter while someone cleaned out the bar. As a customer I do not know how long the salsa has been sitting out of ice. How long has it been in the temperature danger zone? (40-141 degrees) you can seriously make someone I'll or kill someone. I enjoy the food here when I want something quick to eat but experiencing it like this does not make me want to come back nod for the safety of my friends and family I wouldn't suggest people to come to this one in particular either. Well as much as I like supporting local restaurants, I think I'm done with LaSalsa. We ordered fish tacos and their nachos. Delivered by GrubHub, who did a great job of getting the food here fast. But the tacos were basically tasteless, they had some sort of red sauce and lettuce in them. They were just bad. Tasteless. The nachos were just ok. No meat on them, black beans and the usual guacamole which was bland. Unfortunately, they have to compete with LaPinata, much better food there. Los Pericos is also excellent. I'm surprised they have survived serving this food and it was pricey for what we received. That will be my last time ordering from them. Very good mexican fast food. A great variety of salsas. I even got to see Chuy Gomez from 106.1 KMEL. The food here isn't the greatest but not bad. I always order pretty much the same, fish tacos. They are quite tasty with the salsa and the lemon, which give it a punch of flavor. Your order does seem to take a while to be done, then again, I come here during my lunch time. It's not only my lunch time apparently. You receive a small bag of chips with your order, not bad but I've had better. I would come here again but maybe not as often. Can't say whether or not the food was good or bad. I tried to order delivery from this place via Grubhub and after ordering, entering the credit card information and getting a text stating that my food was being prepared, I got a phone call from Grubhub informing me that my order was cancelled because this restaurant informed them that 1. I am out out of their delivery area. (Really, I am in the next zip code over and am about 15 minutes away) 2. They don't deliver on Sunday. According to the rep who contacted me from Grubhub, this was all news to their company too. Its a Rain soaked day .My day started very early today it is a Training Day. The last one with my Rookie. Its his test day before I sign off on him and let him loose on his own. Hes tooling around doing a great job. Then we get to one of our remote parks and there's a Wind and Rain Damaged tree . This is actually a good thing as I can run my Rookie thru the procedure. This happens a lot in the Winter. After we deal with the situation. I decided it was lunch time. So we decided on La Salsa as I'm always looking for a good Burrito Joint. So we rolled there in the Work Whip and entered. Its a smaller location and more of a fast food joint. So I ordered a Steak Burrito with Whole Beans . I went over to the Salsa Table and they had 8 different types of Salsa including 2 holiday blends. So I grabbed a container of each. My Burrito was ready 10 minutes later . I tried each Salsa and found the 2 holiday blends to be too sweet. The regular ones were good. The Burrito itself was excellent and loaded with Steak and the ingredients were very fresh, it was Yummy. read more

Yech. Stopped here for dinner while passing through the area and ordered a shrimp taco and chips. I don't even know how this is possible, but somehow the shrimp, cabbage, sauce, and cheese all tasted the same - like cardboard. That's quite a feat. The chips were weirdly thick and hard, and the salsa was watery. In addition to the shitty food, the restaurant was disgustingly dirty and there was a huge pile of garbage in front of the trash. I was in San Leandro for business today and me and my co-worker dropped by for a early lunch. I have eaten at this franchise before but never at this location.... I was extremely put off by how filthy this restaurant was. Garbage on the floor, in the booths and the salsa bar was really gross. It was only 11:15 a.m. but it look demolished even before the lunch rush started. This looks like a relatively new shopping center and I was really disappointed by the cleanliness of this place. I've been here a few times and the service is usually pretty quick. Your choice of burritos, tacos, salads and platters. I usually get an Overstuffed Grilled burrito and they are pretty spicy. Good with steak. They also have a small salsa bar which comes in handy. This place is great for a quick bite if you do t want fast food. read more

Had a fish burrito, which was pretty damn good. Kudos for outstanding (exceeding expectations) service. My mom, not being familiar with the menu, told my dad she'll have whatever he's having. Turns out her overstuffed grilled burrito had too much heat for her taste. My dad goes up to the cashier and tells him that she didn't know it would be spicy, and requests something not spicy. Not only do they make another burrito, no questions asked - but they didn't charge. Didn't even ask for the original one back. THAT'S customer service. Great food. It's fresh and light. Not salty or heavy like other quick eat restaurants. Pretty small location often with long lines, but they move fairly quickly. My only complaint is today I was there and saw them call a to go order. The lady asked for a larger salsa container which they immediately handed her. When my number was called, I asked for the same and was told no that they charge for those. Weird... They didn't charge the other lady... and they didn't charge me when I filled 20 of the micro sized salsa cups. Seems strange to charge for one cup but not 20. I was in the mood for a fish burrito and decided I would get one from La Salsa. I ended up getting a grilled mahi mahi veracruz burrito. I thought it was delicious! The mahi mahi was not dry, but flaky and moist and it had great flavor! I was in mahi mahi burrito heaven! Everything in the burrito complimented each othe nicely. Besides the mahi mahi, the burrito had jack cheese, cabbage, avocado, rice, and some sauces. The burrito was also grilled, which I really enjoyed. I know La Salsa is a chain, but for a chain they made a delicious burrito. They also had a great selection of salsas to add to any of the dishes they offered.
