Ordered the al pastor and carne asada tacos. The al pastor was okay, but the carne asada had a nice smoky flavor. Limited parking and one of the stalls has a pothole, so be careful. The establishment is small and can fill up to around 20 people. Customer service was okay. There is an up-charge for subbing corn tortillas with flour tortillas.

Amazing tacos and birria! Thought the prices were a bit high BUT they give you a plate with garnishing. Best tacos I have had yet in Dallas Pro tip: bring cash or they will charge extra. Also the birria tacos are pretty expensive compared to other spots (ex consume is an extra charge). But it's really good

Wow! So good. Found a recommendation for this place on instagram and had to try for myself. This did not disappoint. Every taco we ordered was delicious. The birria tacos were amazing and come with a big bowl of birria full of meat. Honestly the birria taco plate by itself is its own meal. The gorditas were another favorite. Plus, you can't beat the prices. Two dollar tacos that don't skimp on ingredients. If you're looking for traditional Mexican tacos full of flavor for a great price, this is the place.

Coming from eating the best tacos in Mexico this place was AMAZING. 10/10 recommend. Everything was delicious and very tasty. You will not be disappointed!!

Good taco spot if you want to be put down by management I had $45 exactly on my card the total was $38 and they took all the $45 and then they wanted me to pay again the manager told me that us Latinos go out to eat with no money. The cashier and the managers above started to tell me that they had not charge when my bank statement said otherwise they did say racial slurs as well and them being Hispanic they then made us wait over 45 minutes for our food and they made it completely wrong the manager denied fixing our food. If you are Latino do not come here they are racist towards us and this is a Latino owned restaurant. The food is subpar I rather go to el paisano where you get better treatment and food!

The food came out hot and so good. We got the torta and taco Burria which has a nice kick to it. They gave you onions cilantro and habanero on the side. If you go on the weekend it may get a little busy but they call out your number in Spanish. Also the horchata was amazing.

Authentic Mexican food that's reasonably priced! Love this "hole in the wall" restaurant on Northwest Hwy! It's always packed during lunch because the food is amazing, menu is extensive, and service is usually fast (even during lunch rush). I always enjoy the tacos, and this time we decided to try other items like the quesadilla and ceviche! I also always order horchata which is the perfect texture and taste! It would help to know some Spanish because they call out your order number in Spanish!

Very good tacos. My only issue is that the place doesn't have a lot of room so that the guests can really enjoy their food

Can't go wrong. The food is awesome; just don't go if you have to be somewhere else afterwards. You will smell like you cooked your meal.

Celebrating our 1-year anniversary at The Mexican was nothing short of extraordinary…read more From the moment we walked in, the energy, attention to detail, and genuine passion for excellence were evident in every aspect of the experience. The food, cocktails, atmosphere, and service came together to create an unforgettable evening. A special shout-out to Ashley, whose hospitality and mastery behind the bar elevated our celebration even more. Her knowledge of her craft, warm personality, and thoughtful recommendations made us feel truly welcomed and valued. It's rare for me to give an establishment a perfect score, but this one has earned it without hesitation. 10/10--an exceptional dining experience and the perfect place to celebrate life's special moments. Thank you to the entire team for making our anniversary so memorable. We can't wait to return!

It was my first visit, and it was absolutely worth the wait. I've seen all the Instagram posts, and I finally got my chance to experience it for myself. Since it was Taco Tuesday, I had to order the tacos and the ceviche. I snagged a cozy corner seat so I could take in the entire atmosphere, and everything was spot on. The food was delicious, the ambiance was beautiful, and the bartender was even kind enough to take my picture. From the service to the vibe, this place exceeded my expectations. It will definitely be one of the first places I think of for a date night!

Chris our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took his time walking us through the menu and explaining what made El Carlos Elegante so special. The drinks were perfect. My wife loved her Desert Flor while I thoroughly enjoyed my Modelo Micheleda. Her Surf and Turf one hitter was exceptional. I have to say my Crab Cake was just ok. It tasted a little pasty and very heavy on the bread. The Pulpo was absolutely amazing. Perfect texture and the sauce it was served almost had me licking the plate. The El Machete was incredible from its presentation, to the freshness of the corn tortilla, to the quality of the meat inside. Definitely recommend this. We really liked our Okra + Shishito course, we just wished it had more okra in it. The two things I loved about the Al Pastor was of course the sauce it was served on but the fact that I got to enjoy it like a steak. It was served sliced on a bias like flank steak. Typically Al Pastor is finely chopped and served in tacos and burritos, so this was a different eating experience for me. And of course it was delicious as well. We cannot wait to come back and try more of the menu.

It was glorious and bountiful--there was ample dressing, cheese, and other ingredients I'm forgetting that made it unique. Unfortunately, during our second visit, the Caesar salad was significantly different. I think they used the same dressing, but there was very little of it. There was nearly no cheese and the other ingredients were similarly sparse. It was still good, but it in no way was the greatest I'd ever tried. I hope that this was a 1-off experience, as it truly was the best. I will report back next time. Service was great both times- they were very careful about my Cilantro request (none) and even though they gladly prepared dishes without it, they also made a list of things that already had none by default. Salmon ceviche, Pork al pastor, Carne asada, and the machete were also very good. The machete is a specialty- it had the house made masa and fillings can vary.

So thinking we showed up for our reservation, this location says they don't take reservations. They stop at is anyway, which was nice. We were seated on the porch, and here's where things got weird. We ordered our drinks and when the drinks were delivered, we said we were ready to order, and the waitress, hesitated and then said she would be back. Kinda strange, but eventually we had our order taken. I ordered a mango agua fresca which was pretty good. The complementary chips and salsas were also really good. For an entree I had the Tempura Fried Fish Tacos. These were very good and the coleslaw served with them was very good- crunch and bright. Overall the food here is pretty solid. The service was a bit off, but not a deal breaker, just be prepared to wait a while to have your order taken.

I would like to mention that they nickel and dime you pretty hard. There's a split plate fee and they voluntarily brought out veggies for my GF friends when they inquired if they could eat the chips, but they ended up charging us $6 for it. Not the end of the world, but good to note!
