I visited on a weekday during lunch and the restaurant was packed with locals. Nonetheless, my group was quickly helped and served. My party of 3 shared 11 tacos, and our favorite was the crispy tripe. The tripe was crispy, yet chewy, and so juicy. We also loved the chorizo and lengua. I will say all meats are well seasoned and marinated and cooked perfectly. If you order tripa (chitlins) tacos they automatically ask you if you want soft or crispy tripas (chitlins). I will always ordery tripa tacos extra crispy, and they did not disappoint. However, the tacos are small and with double tortillas. If you want grilled onions, you have to order them as a side, but it is a hefty side of grilled onions. When you get your order handed to you, they give you two bottles of salsa, the green and the red salsas. They have a variety of Mexican cokes and Mexican flavored waters. Their staff were attentive and so kind. They were so warm and welcoming and the food smelt so good when walking in. The canary yellow trim and large sign will help you find it. Order at the counter. Take a seat at either a booth or table and you get to enjoy the cute robot serving you food. The Cabeza(beef cheek), Suadero(thin grilled beef), and Lengua (beef tongue) was so juicy and perfect texture with the roasted corn tortilla. The torta bread is from a local Panaderia. The chipotle sauce is made in house. I loved the bombocha torta. Perfect for meat lovers. It has friend beef, ham, and seasoned hot dog. It wasn't too much breading on the Milanesa(friend beef) and the jamón (ham) Salchicha (hot dog) was a beautiful melody of meat. Either way for an agua fresa and 6 tacos it was only $18 and in NC it would've def been around $30+. So either way we were happy with our TX tacos and their price point. Parking is a bit tight and limited so if you come during their peak hours, I can definitely see it being a bit of a problem. Best street taco place I've been too in the downtown Dallas area. The prices are good, service is fast, and I love how it's such a hole in the wall. Personally, I don't mind when a place is a little rusty- only if the food there is good. I took these to go, but for 3 suadero tacos ($2 each) and a small horchata ($2?) you can't beat the price. Stopped by for lunch and the parking lot is a litle small. Inside, there is plenty of space. I ordered a couple asada and pastor tacos which came out quickly. The tortilla was a little different than what I'm used to, it seemed to be a little more bready and thick. It reminds me of those mission tortillas you can get at the big grocery stores. I've been wanting to visit this spot for years, but I don't visit downtown Dallas enough to stop by. My manager recently reminded me of this place, and I was downtown for an anime convention, so it was perfect timing. The restaurant is a little outdated and dirty, but that's how you know the food is going to be FIRE. The menu was simple and easy to understand. You have your typical street tacos, tortas, quesadillas, and drinks. Luckily, we came right before the dinner rush because after we sat down, the restaurant was PACKED and the line went from one end to the other. The tables were pretty dirty. I'm not sure if the workers wipe them down after someone sits there, but I grabbed some paper towels and wiped them before sitting. My boyfriend and I ordered 10 tacos, each with different meats so we can try them out. I also got a horchata fresca as well, and it was one of the best horchata that I tried. Idk what they did, but the drink was light, and there wasn't too much of that grainy part inside. It took about 10 mins for the tacos to come out, and HOLY SH*T, the tacos were ALL SO FREAKIN' GOOD!!! I loved my typical lingua and tripe tacos, but the highlight was the suadero tacos. I think that's a thin slice of beef, but it was juicy and authentic and they have the perfect amount of onion and cilantro. I regret not buying more of the suadero tacos, and the line was too long for me to get some to-go. I took off one star because of the cleanliness. I usually don't mind but the tables were really dirty and there were flies flying around. First of all this place is a hole in the wall joint and isn't the prettiest place around, but the tacos are really, really good. I had a bistek and a pastor taco and they were $2.00 tacos at that! While everyone else is raising their prices because of this climate we are living in right now, these tacos are still $2.00, so you can't beat those prices. The only thing I wish they had was a salsa verde. They do have 2 styles of salsa, but I wish they had salsa verde.
