    Red tacos with consome
    Genevie I.

Food -- was phenomenal! Eveything was hot and fresh. Very tasty and flavorful. Very authentic birria tacos. The taste was very much so there. Service -- the service was amazing! The lady was by herself handling the register and making food. 2 of her employees called off but not once did she complain. She handled that very well but did let customers know she was working alone for time purposes. She was great! Very attentive to everyone's needs and made sure everyone's food made it out promptly. Ambiance -- I loved the location and the ambiance of the restutant. It's located in West Oakland near train tracks and there's a brewery next door. Tons of parking. The inside is very pretty. Decorations and paintings inside. Love love this place! Def recommend people who want amazing birria. Oh and the churros are DELICIOUS! Yummm

Food truck - there's parking on the street with parking meters. I recommend checking their IG to confirm the hours and location. There was a long line to order on a Saturday at noon. There are a few benches to eat outside. We ordered the (birria) red tacos ($12 for 3), $2 extra for the consome, and agua fresca ($5). The consome is a must and is enough to share for 2 orders of tacos. We did ask for light cheese and there was still a decent amount of cheese. There was a lot of meat and had a lot of flavor. The agua fresca was very refreshing and needed as the birria is heavy.

La Santa Torta was at Faction Brewing last Sunday and we ordered three separate orders of red tacos (3 cheesy birria tacos for $16) x2 and one torta. Our order took 45 minutes while we were standing in the hot sun, very little to no communication on order wait time, and then when we finally got the tacos they were underwhelming: not enough cheese, dry meat. Very disappointed in the wait time. This is my 3rd/4th time at the truck and usually the wait isn't so long. The consommé also continues to come in styrofoam cups with a plastic lid and that is an unsustainable option. Styrofoam lasts 500 years in the earth and cannot be recycled. Please switch to paper/compostable options!

I don't even live in Oakland and I would do the drive any day just to have these. I found them on ig by accident I said I have to get my hands on some of that and OMG! It was soooo good. 100% recommended

My fiancé and I found La Santa Torta via Yelp and decided to come here for lunch on a weekday. We came right at opening (noon), and there was already a line. The menu is small with about 4-5 food options (a veggie option too!), aguas, and soft drinks. I wasn't sure what to expect so we both ordered an order of the red tacos, consomé, and 1 order of the churros. The prices for everything is standard for the Bay Area - 3 tacos for $12, our total came out to roughly about $36. Although there was a lot of people waiting, our food was ready within 10 minutes or so. We got home in about 10 minutes or so and dug in. First off they are so generous with their meat portions in their tacos! The taco was still crispy on the outside and contrasted amazingly with the tender and juicy meat inside. When you dip the taco into the consomé, top it off with a squeeze of lime and some of their salsa verde - it is such an amazing combination! I've had a few other birria taco spots in the Bay Area, but I gotta say this one is my favorite so far. The tacos and consomé were not overly greasy or heavy but were still very rich and flavorful. I do wish you were able to order individual tacos instead of a set of 3 at once, just because sometimes it's just too much. The warm churros were the perfect end to our lunch. They were filled with dulce de leche and come with a dipping sauce as well. I opt'd to dip my churro in some condensed milk I had in my fridge and it was even better. Much to my wallet and stomach's dismay - it looks like I will be a regular here. I will also start bringing my friends and family here when they visit. Usually my fiancé isn't a fan of birria tacos, but even he loved these! The tacos are too damn good!

You can't go wrong here! Veggie options, but best for meat eaters! I've had the following here and continue to recommend it for the birria tacos! They do not skimp out on the ingredients and you'll be sure to feel full and satisfied! Super flavorful and yummy! The flavor of the birria and consomé is undeniable. Reminds me of back home and all of the great pachanga parties! For those Elote lovers, get them cut and with hot Cheetos! Ugh. So satisfying when you'll getting the munchies. I'm a true Elote lover, so I def enjoy these from time to time. Churros?? They got you. Cajeta filled churros, mmm mmm mmm! Plus a ghiradelli caramel dip, all the goods. Agua de piña too! Don't go dry now! It's also not common to find small trucks that have agua fresca de piña. Wasn't super sweet as the usuals either! Also, got to try the noodles. Great idea, but not my fave unfortunately. This was only because I wasn't a fan of the noodles. Perhaps if they were udon style I would though. You'd have to try them to know. Anyways, they have veggie tacos tho, and also super filling and tasty! Tortas de birria (can make veggie too but they don't recommend it because they fall apart). Buen provecho!

I was working nearby and wanted something to eat while I had time to waste and I saw this truck next to nations.. on the corner of 4th and Broadway they have some metered parking nearby like most downtown areas. I ordered the birria torta being that they pride themselves on the item. It was on a French roll which I had to raise an eyebrow to. Kinda hard and crunchy bread but once dipped in the consome it softens up so I wont complain too much. They also provide 2 different small salsa cups and the green one caught my attention. Spicy and flavorful you have to eat it in a very specific way to get the full effect. Overpriced in my opinion but most food trucks are. I wouldnt say you'll be let down, they hold their own and are worth checking out. The biggest flaw to this business is the amount of tiny Nats flying on the entire corner. We're talking hundreds maybe a thousand that are just a cloud of bugs that have no regard to humans. I took about 5 with me to my work truck 125ft away and had to kill them while I waited for my food to be made. I had to be sure to rid myself of any bugs before opening my food container.

The best birria tacos I've had so far. A bit pricey for a food truck, but not outrageous. If going for the first time, definitely spring for the consommé with your plate, it's super flavorful, but be warned, it's quite spicy.

This review is for my view in Sept. 2020, on a hot hot day. I love the Birria taco. It was my first time trying this food trend, and I think it's going to get bigger in 2021. The Birria ramen was not on the menu, but I was pleasantly surprised when I was told they had it. To be honest, I recommend the birria tacos more. The crispy shell carries the fatty flavorful shredded meat with melted cheese. The ramen broth was a bit oily, and the texture of the noodle was too soft. Also it was not ramen noodle, but rather Chinese egg noodle (lost chewiness from overcooking). Tips: 1) Order online to avoid food selling out 2) Come early if you want to try the ramen 3) Bring some napkins or wipes to clean the table

I have to give a shout out to La Santa Torta. Yes, their birera are becoming legendary. What I am so pleased is the commitment and contributions to The Bay community. I met Leo Guzman, one of the co-founders awhile back. We were talking about his belief in feeding people who can't afford a nice, warm meal. La Santa has always done this. They and their trucks have even visited the farm workers many times in central California and shared many free meals with them. Excerpt from SFEatery (12/3/2020) "During the pandemic, the business has been making an impact as much through its charitable efforts as through its delicious tacos. Over the course of the past several months Guzman and Oblea have given away hundreds of free meals -- to down-on-their-luck folks in the neighborhood who needed a hot meal and, more recently, to undocumented farm workers who've been disproportionately impacted by this year's brutal wildfire season." This week my friend reached to me. Her newly rescued puppy got out and was missing. I posted a picture and notice on my Instagram asking for help. La Santa reposted my story to their 24.5K followers! During these trying times of the pandemic, we need to support local businesses that support our community as well! And them birria tacos are damn delicious!

Red Tacos with consommé dipping sauce. Ordered 5 tacos. Yes, they will honor partial orders rather than the standard 3 per order.

Key Points: - Delicious Birria Tacos - Small, simple menu - Nicely decorated truck The Mrs. and I ventured out to this truck because we wanted to try Birria Tacos for the first time. She's seen them on Instagram and wanted to join the bandwagon. Of all the places we saw on yelp, this was one of the best looking trucks. It's located in a parking lot next to the original Nation's Giant Burgers. One can't park in their private lot, but there was ample street parking. The food did not disappoint. Red Tacos ($12 for 3) - Comes with 3 per order, but we ordered an odd number of 5, which they honored. Juicy, savory, extremely rich, but a bit messy. Actually, very messy, as the bottom of our box left a puddle of fatty juice. We ate this in our car, so keeping the mess contained was a challenge. if doing the same, I'd recommend a food tray or a lot of napkins. These guys were super rich, and kept us satiated all day after eating this. We had this around 3PM, and didn't eat another meal before bed. Plus the Mrs. is eating for two ;) Consome ($2) - for an additional $2, I'd say it didn't quite please my pallet. Don't get me wrong, the flavor, just like that in the tacos, was AMAZING! But to me, it was actually the SAME flavor. So adding this to the already juice tacos was simply like adding "wetness." For some, that floats their boat. It makes for a great Instagram photo/story though, if you've seen the hype. For me, I probably wouldn't get it again. Rather, I'd put that extra money towards another taco. Elotes Chidos ($8) - The Mrs. loves elote. this one was rich and creamy, topped with those crunchy hot cheetos. I've never been a big fan of corn or elote, but I did thoroughly enjoy this side dish Churros ($7) - crispy sweet, topped with sugar, filled with dulce de leche AND comes with a side of dulce de leche dipping sauce. Though scattering sugar is always a problem with churros in general, this one didn't have as much of that problem. A great dessert to the tacos. Overall, a great experience. We're still going to venture around to try the other Birria tacos in the area though. I would definitely recommend coming here to try theirs.

3 stars because it was not that good for the pricing. If I went to "the hood" parts of Oakland the taco trucks ov there taste the same (maybe better) for a lower price. Not including names because iykyk. The elote was almost $8 ‍ never again will I be ripped off. Wasn't as good as the $4-5 elotes I had in the past. For the Beef Birria tacos a plate was almost $20... I was very full but still not as tasty for the price... it was good though wouldn't go back.

From the outside, it looks like a straightforward taco truck, but wow was I surprised. I ordered the Carnitas Super Taco, which came loaded with lettuce, cheese, cilantro, onions, sour cream, and guacamole. Everything was fresh, well seasoned, and packed with flavor. My only complaint? You only get one taco per order because I definitely could've eaten another. The Kid ordered the Carne Asada Super Taco and before we even pulled away, she was asking for a second one. That's usually a pretty good sign. We also tried the horchata and jamaica, and both were delicious. The horchata was creamy and flavorful, while the jamaica was refreshing and not overly sweet. What surprised me most was how quickly they got the food out, especially considering how popular this spot seems to be. A few things to know: * Cash or Venmo only * Parking can be a challenge, but it's worth it * Keep an eye out for the new speed cameras in the area Their hours are another plus: Open daily, 9:30am- midnight Overall, this was one of those pleasant surprises that reminds you not to judge a place by appearances. He said he would replace them and he asked that we bring the chicken burritos back. This was already an inconvenience because we live 15 minutes away, so gas was wasted getting all the way over there and back. When they were picked up, instead of owning up to his mistake, the guy still insisted that we ordered chicken. Again, we did not. While we finally had what we ordered, the steak burritos were smaller and barely had any meat in them, while the incorrect order were chock full of chicken. So, needless to say, we will not be back.

I'd thought the place had lost its touch, but maybe it was just an off day. Today in May of 2026 I've managed to visit while it's a slow day, and I was pleasantly satisfied with my food. I ordered a Carnitas burrito, and it was just as delicious as I'd remembered it one decade ago. While I was eating the first half of my burrito I was thinking "this is good, but burritos are good.. is it better than other burritos I've had, and why?" Something is different about burritos at Tacos Sinaloa, the food reflects that of some regional tacos trucks scattered throughout the East bay, but they're very distinct in how well they're capable of doing this style of Mexican food. As I said earlier- burritos are good. I think they are good because everything tastes good together, but not all burritos are created equal. The first thing that stood out to me about my burrito was the tortilla. It's not your standard tortilla, and it's nothing extravagant, but it seemed intentional. The tortilla is softer, thinner, and it holds up, but it's not chewy. It's there and it soaks up the oils and it doesn't take away from anything. In my experience, a bad tortilla can make a burrito less enjoyable. This tortilla adds in that it's barely there and it's pleasant because it soaks up the flavors without detracting. On the insides, the beans and rice can give or take away depending on where you get your burrito from. At Tacos Sinaloa on this particular day, the beans and rice did not take away from the burrito. The pinto beans were plum and creamy, and tasted like pintos. No nonsense- they added because they didn't subtract, I could go on about grainy beans or starchy over seasoned bean liquid, but NONE OF THAT HERE. The rice had perfect texture. It almost like 'al dente', but not in a chewy way, it had just enough rice texture and didn't get in the way of the other ingredients. It was mildly seasoned with your classic Mexican rice (aromatic tomato broth like flavor). No nonsense, no unnecessary spices, not over saturated in liquid, or turned to mush. Just good simply season rice. Cheese and sour cream- Salty Mexican cheese, presumably Oaxaca or something similar. Adds little salty flavor explosions throughout the burrito. Sour cream, added tangy acidity that cuts through the fatty ness making it taste more lively. Of coarse, the lovely creaminess. If you're not having your burrito with these I'm very sorry for you. The star of the show- The Carnitas here is just done right. It's not over seasoned with anything, it just tastes like melty delicious braised pork shoulder, then fried to accentuate it with crispy mallard bits that surprise you throughout the burrito. Towards the end of my experience I came to the conclusion that what makes a Tacos Sinaloa burrito good is that its ingredients forward- each ingredient tastes good on its own, and that can't be said for all burritos. It's not a burrito for the sake of being a burrito. All the ingredients seem intentionally chosen so that none get in the way of one another. I want to say they make the meat the star of the show, but even if you were to have a bean and rice and cheese + sour crème burrito here it would be an exceptional burrito, which is a testament to their culinary philosophy. Last but not least- yes they have salsa, and of coarse it's good, and I love that they give lemon slices with your food - it's another small intentional detail that they offer lemon instead of lime. Carnitas burrito 5/5. Sinaloa overall 4/5 because of inconsistency.

The main reason I never went before was the parking situation, which honestly can be a little challenging, but for this visit we found parking down the block and around the corner. The short walk after dinner ended up being nice anyway. We had reservations, although we did wait about 15 extra minutes while another party finished their meal. My family member pointed out they were enjoying drinks, so that probably added some time. The waiter was very friendly, attentive, and clearly trying to get us seated as quickly as possible. Water was brought to the table right away, and our drink order was taken promptly. I ordered the chicken salad and was pleasantly surprised to learn the mango vinaigrette dressing did not contain oils, since I personally avoid seed oils. The salad was fresh and delicious. Some of my family members ordered the buffet, which looked incredible. At first it seemed like too much food for me that day, but once I saw everything included, I started thinking maybe I should have ordered it too since it was only about seven dollars more. They brought complimentary chips, guacamole, and salsa to the table, and everything was so flavorful. The guacamole was especially delicious, and they happily refilled the chips several times. I finally understood why the restaurant is called "Los Moles" because their mole sauces are outstanding. I got to try some from my son's plate, and it definitely made me want to come back and explore more of the different mole options. They also offer vegetarian choices, which is great. Although I am very particular about cooking surfaces, my food is cooked on and in, the Mexican coffee which was heated in some type of who knows what metal, had a good flavor. It inspired me to re-create it at home. Another standout for me was the freshly made corn tortillas served with the meals. They were soft, warm, and incredibly good. I also tried the beans, which were full of flavor. Overall, this restaurant really stood out in my memory, and I definitely want to return someday to try more moles.

It was a busy night with the place packed, but we got our food super quickly despite the hustle ~ impressive service kept everything moving smoothly. The variety blew us away on our first visit: tons of different meats seasoned just right, heaps of fresh vegetables, and generous portions of everything you could imagine. You can go back for seconds (or thirds) as many times as you like, and every bite was packed with bold, flavorful goodness. The horchata was a refreshing highlight too ~ creamy and spot-on. The busy, fun atmosphere made it an ideal spot to bring kids, with non-stop energy and satisfied smiles all around. We'll definitely be back for more of this taco feast! Highly recommend.

We came here during lunch, and since it wasn't too crowded we were able to be seated right away. While the restaurant itself isn't too large, it does have a decent number of tables for people to sit at to eat. The interior is also quite nice and homey, with a rustic vibe to it. I decided to get one of the rice plates, which had rice, some ground meat, egg, beans, and some fish. The meat itself was fresh and quite flavorful, and the vegetables were cooked well too. While the portions weren't that large, I did like the tastes of everything that I had and think it was a nice take on Thai food. Overall, I recommend checking this place out if you want some Thai food in Oakland!

I ordered from Todos Cantina via DoorDash after reading about chef Nolberto Martinez and his…read morefamily's culinary reputation in the Bay Area. Given that background, what arrived at my door was honestly shocking. The burrito was cold, greasy, bizarrely thick and lumpy, and filled with some of the lowest-quality meat I've ever been served by a restaurant. Multiple bites literally had to be spit out. On top of that, the advertised ingredients (sour cream, pico de gallo, guacamole) were completely missing. What arrived was basically a dense tube of cheap rice and rubbery meat. At first I assumed this must have been a one-off disaster. Then I started reading the Yelp reviews. And suddenly a pattern emerged: stale chips, stale tacos, food making people sick, delivery orders arriving wrong or poorly made, hostile service interactions, customers being spoken to aggressively, and an overall sense that quality control has completely collapsed. One reviewer even described an employee asking if they "wanted to fight." Another described disputing charges over incorrect orders because the food quality was so poor. What makes this especially disappointing is that the restaurant presents itself as a serious modern Bay Area Mexican concept tied to an admired culinary name. Instead, the actual execution feels careless, inconsistent, and deeply below the standards the restaurant markets itself on. Restaurants can survive a bad night. What they cannot survive is the perception that nobody cares anymore. Right now, that is exactly the impression Todos Cantina gives off. Frankly, this is an embarrassment to the legacy and reputation associated with the Martinez name. I truly hope someone steps in and turns this place around, because based on my experience (and many others here) things have gone badly off the rails.
