The food is phenomenal!!! So delicous and so much flavor. Their cheese dip is perfect, super cheesey flavor and not to watery. I had the arroz mariscos (seafood rice) it was amazing just like eating pallela by the beach. My husband and the arroz con pollo and it was soo good chicken was cooked perfectly and had a lot of flavor also a lot of cheese dip. Everyone needs to try the Peruvian cuisine at this particular location. The noodles with beef are way better than any chineses lo mein noodles, as they are always cooked fresh and have just the right amount of sauce. The shrimp soup and the seafood with salsa cirallo or the creole sauce has the best flavor ever! The Peruvian chicken is awesome too! You just can't get this type of cuisine anywhere else. We have been here multiple times and enjoyed the food. Sometimes we dine in and sometimes we take it to go. The last few times we have gotten it to go, it has been hit or miss. This last time will be the final time we visit. I got my order home and had to turn around and go back, only to be accused of lying and was told "I don't want to give away free food." We were put on hold halfway through our phone order, so we aren't surprised it was messed up. The salsa may be the best fresh homemade salsa I have had in a very long time. I highly recommend the steak and chicken nachos as they are soooooo delicious. The steak is tender and perfectly seasoned and the chicken is juicy and tender. I ordered steak and chicken nachos with lettuce, tomato, melted cheese and guacamole. Our server was quite terrible though. And for the love of God if you get a Margarita get a Patron one and tell them the substitute the margarita mix with lime juice. Had there been an opportunity to give a 4.5 star rating, I would. As I drive for Uber, a client told me that this is not a regular Mexican restaurant, they have a Peruvian menu as well. She went from work, to pick up her order from here and the aroma had me convinced to try it. When she heard my compliments on the aroma, she invited me into her home to sample some. Wow! it MUST be great. Had this been a hoity-toity stuffed shirt restaurant with servers in tuxedos, I would give it five stars. I'm assuming the tuxedos came with a more adventurous and creative menu. What a great find this was! My wife had the "Tallarin Saltato de Pollo" and I had the "Seco de Carne". Both were great. Here come the reviews of those dishes and accoutrements. Fresh, hot tortillas were served without asking and they and the salsa were very good. I was also impressed with the fact that when I ordered club soda with limes that my second serving came with limes and I did not have to ask for them. From previous experience with Peruvian cuisine, I suggested that my wife try Saltato dish. I learned that this was a regular dish, if not a national dish of Peru. This dish blew away my previous experiences. Sampling the first bite of chicken, I was blown away with how tender the meat was. Spices and flavors were great. The pasta could have been more "al dente", but that is my preference, not what may be tradition. Seco de Carne was an interesting presentation. A cone of white rice offset the brown beans and the very dark gravy from the beef stew. Color came from the pickled red onion. On first taste of the beef, my wife said, "Ooo, that is GOOD". She does not like cilantro, so this was a rave. I found the meat stewed to perfection. While there were three "hunks" of beef covered in a thick, dark gravy, they were wonderful. Stew meat fibers fell away under my fork they were so tender. It was fun combining the meat and stew on the fork with rice, beans or gravy. This place is on my list for a revisit, which is rare for a driver working or Uber who is working on sampling dining experiences to help my clients. read more

Came here for lunch with a group and had great service. Chips were brought to the table along with some fresh, tasty salsa. We were on a bit of a time constraint, so I figured we'd have to take most of our food to go, but our meals came out so quickly that everyone had time to finish! I got the burrito supreme lunch special with chicken, which was the perfect amount of food without sending me into a food coma. It comes with beans and rice, and the burrito is topped with guacamole. The atmosphere was dark and very cramped. The wife and I went with another couple and got stuck in a booth. Each side of the booth was barely big enough for 2 people, felt like I was crammed in there (and we are average size people). The white queso was pretty good and the beer was priced well... That was about all it had going for it.. The wife had the fajitas, which were just ok. They don't take reservations but said that if we called ahead ahead would see what they could do! They did! "My.02 ~ So far, these are some of the best chips and salsa in Smyrna!" We have been here multiple times and I do not remember the chips being this good. "Come on man - it's just a chip!" These are different - same shape - same basket lined with paper, but they were not one bit greasy! Not grease spots on the paper either - almost as if they were baked. The salsa was a perfect heat level - not real hot, but you knew it wasn't mild by any means. We only got one basket, but they were packed in there so good and piled so high - it took three bowls of salsa for us to finish them - and finish them we did! My nose sometimes itches from eating greasy chips - not that problem here. They were just thick enough that you didn't have to worry about cutting your gums or the roof of your mouth. Yesterday's special was 2 enchiladas with red sauce and melted cheese, rice and beans. It was just enough (after I ate what my wife left of one of hers). I would have been fine without her leftovers, but I am not sending it back! House margaritas were $3.99 as well. Honestly - I have never had a margarita at a Mexican restaurant where you could even taste the tequila. If you are looking for a buzz, better get a pitcher and a designated driver - maybe - they seem that weak. It's like drinking a fruit drink. The two dinners and one margarita for my wife was around $15 and that included tax. Not bad for an evening meal. Service was excellent and the waiter was very nice and obliging. This place is a 10/10. My family and I have been coming here for years and it beats any place in town. The service is great and fast. The food is always bomb and never let us down! They have trivia nights as well as live music sometimes. Not memorable, but not bad either. I was excited after the chips and salsa. Great homemade salsa which awesome variety of flavors. Then it went to the bland side. All the "fixins" seemed a bit watered down. The refried beans were runny, the cheese sauce was runny, the sour cream was runny, and the chicken in my "burrito supreme" was just watered down and bland. Did it fit the bill as a mexican restaurant? It did. Am I itching to return and come back and brag to everybody else that visits down there? Not really. Would I go again if I saw it and remembered it? Maybe. They served well prepared food, with a good level of customer service, at a fair and decent price. Very saddened with our experience at this resturant tonight... We have came here on quite a few occasions and tonight made me really not care to come back. They brought us out cold fajitas with no shrimp in it and had a huge chunk of uncut pork thrown into it it was very sloppy and cold. I don't know about you but I would rather stay and eat at home than eat cold food and have to repeatedly ask for things that I shouldn't have to. Service was slow too :( Won't be coming back... Also our server said she would try to take something off our ticket but that did not happen as we received our check with no modifications for having to wait an additional 30 min for our food to be HOW ITS SUPPOSED TO BE hot with shrimp..with our six month old baby there with us and you know if you have kids you don't have time for screw ups time is of the essence so will go to Margarita house next time... read more

I'm STILL on the hunt for an overall good Mexican restaurant in Smyrna/LaVergne. Let's start with the salsa - bland (that's all I can say about it). I ordered the Steak Chile Colorado, one of my favs that I've eaten many times, and it comes out with what I can only describe as pot roast. I can deal with that, I suppose, but the meat was also bland. The sauce was decent and probably the hottest Chile Colorado I've had - I love heat so no complaints from me. The rice was undercook and crunchy/hard in the center. The beans were typical. I won't be back. There wasn't enough to make me want to come back and try again. Where can I find some good salsa around here!?!? I am moving to Murfreesboro next month... Maybe I will have better luck there. read more

The service is horrible. If you go, you definitely do not want the blonde who is not originally a blonde. She is the worst. Your drinks will not be filled and she doesn't care if your order/food was horrible. I've been twice. I thought maybe the first time was her bad night but got horrible service the next time as well. It was happy hour and specifically told her I was mainly the for happy hour but she still didn't check on me for drinks. Very very poor service. I'll never go back until I know they have new servers for sure. Until then the place next to bargain hunt is it. Great little Mexican place here in Smyrna. Here on business and looking for a great Mexican meal and we found it. The chips and salsa was great, chips fresh made, at least seemed to be, and the salsa was my dream salsa. Flavorful, but not to flavorful, medium spice, fresh, so goood! Got a side of guac, it's pre-made but it was pretty good too. I had the veggie fajitas and they were very good. The other two had the fish tacos and while they weren't expecting the spice that ensued they both agreed they were good. From my vantage point I was impressed by the size of the fish filets in each taco. The beer was cold, service was good even if it wasn't over friendly and overall a good experience. If I'm ever back in town I'll be sure to stop back for some great Mexican flavors and an ambiance to go along with it. read more
