A perfectly executed Cinco! This place is the real deal. From the friendly, attentive staff to the delicious food and warm ambience. It was decorated so pretty for Cinco and they even gave out hats to customers in addition to getting serenaded table side. I left smiling and excited to go back. Love this place!

Always great customer service, food, and drinks! I really appreciate the vegan options and complete separate menu which makes it really easy to order with no confusion or modifications. Cinco de Mayo here is always a treat and love that they hand out these fun sombreros! Cadillac margarita is a favorite of mine. Entertainment is always an added bonus!

We walked into a small, unassuming space where the focus is squarely on freshly prepared food made with bold, authentic flavors. The dining room is modest and functional, with a counter and a handful of tables that give it the feel of a neighborhood taquería rather than a sit-down restaurant. The energy is practical and welcoming, with the open kitchen allowing us to see the tortillas being pressed and the meats being grilled fresh behind the counter. The birria tacos are the signature order and the dish that defines the menu. We ordered a few and found the tortillas crisped up on the griddle, the beef tender and well seasoned, and the rich consommé served on the side for dipping. The combination of the savory meat, the crispy tortilla, and the deep, slightly smoky broth made each bite feel layered and complete. Other standouts include the adobada tacos, which had a good char and a subtle spice that built gradually, and the lengua torta, with tender tongue layered between a soft roll and topped with fresh ingredients. The pozole was hearty and comforting, with a broth that carried the flavor of the hominy and meat without being overly heavy. The tamales, chicken flautas, and well-seasoned rice and beans rounded out the menu, each arriving hot and freshly made. The pickled onions and house salsas added extra flavor, and the horchata was a popular choice to pair with the meal, its cinnamon sweetness cutting through the richness of the dishes. Service was friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant maintained a relaxed neighborhood atmosphere that keeps people coming back. Despite its modest size, the kitchen moved efficiently, making it a reliable option for both dine-in and takeout. The staff checked in at the right moments and kept the pacing of the meal comfortable, ensuring that even when the small dining room filled up, the experience stayed smooth. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food in the Boston area, Taquería Jalisco stands out for its consistently flavorful cooking, generous portions, and menu built around classic recipes rather than modern interpretations. It is the kind of place where the food speaks for itself, and the simplicity of the setting only adds to the sense that you are eating something made with care and tradition.

The steak was cooked perfectly and it came with everything I was craving. Plus the refried beans, creama, eggs, plantains, chicharron, and warm tortilla--yum! The pupusa was different, as it's made with a different cheese here which the waitress did warn us. Because of this, it wasn't our favorite but still good. Overall this spot is popular in East Boston, I would definitely check it out! Also if you tell them it's your birthday they will sing to you and you get to wear the special hat :)

As someone who eats out a little too frequently, Angela's is where I find myself most often. Whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner, with family and/or friends or flying solo, Angela's always delivers and after every meal there, I'm already planning my next visit. Snagging a table for breakfast can sometimes be cutthroat, especially on the weekend, but it's absolutely worth the wait. Adela, Roxana, and the entire breakfast crew are always a delight. Whether you choose traditional Mexican or American, you're in for an outstanding meal. I can't recommend enough the deluxe rancheros with chorizo (and green sauce!). For something sweet, you can't go wrong with their pancakes and French toast. On the caffeine front, their coffee is always hot and never-ending, and sometimes I can't resist also having one of their tasty espresso martinis. For dinner, you'll typically find me at the bar which is usually manned by the lovely Marcella. My go-to meal is the poblano and chorizo burrito and a passion fruit margarita. Oh, and their homemade tortilla chips and green and red sauces, which are my hands down favorites out of any restaurant. I've ordered this combo so often I don't have to say a word as I saddle up to the bar. Aside from my combo, I love their guacamole, tacos, tamales, and enchiladas, but as with breakfast, you really can't go wrong with anything they offer. Angela's Cafe excels at what I consider the trifecta of dining out: mouthwatering food and cocktails, fast and friendly service, and a warm and inviting atmosphere. Props to owner Joel for maintaining this high standard all these years and frequently being on the premises to greet patrons. Dining options in this section of Orient Heights may be rapidly expanding but Angela's will always be my happy place. As it says right on the wall, "Mi Casa es tu Casa" and they mean it.
