I love this place. The fajitas are fire, the portion is spot on. This place is a solid traditional Mexican restaurant. I say that because the patrons are mostly Mexican! Lol. I say that jokingly, but their customers come for the food! A big menu that does not disappoint. My son loves the Carne Asada fries. Parking is easy, great customer service and the restaurant is cute. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I try to get here a few times a month. They are appreciative of their customers.

You will drive by this place and never give it a second thought. Looks almost abandoned from the outside, made of plywood and prayers. But... once you enter... the same thing. Blaring Mexican music, a small bar and huge covered patio. It's like being transported back in time or to another country - which is good. The food was amazing. The chips were perfection. The homade guac is killer, and the portions are huge! Two to go boxes were needed. Go. Eat. Be happy. This place will knock your socks off for flavor and authentic Mexican food

let me tell you a little story about this place seafood plates, i order was called stuffed fillet of fish. it had shrimp, scallops, crab mushrooms, and it was covered whith a mild chipotle sauce with beans and rice on the side, you get your complementary chips and salsa that it was so delicious and as a starter course your own salad service was top notch by mayra who was very attentive and courteous she by herself i will give her a 10 everything was a 10, it was my very first time in this restaurant. i recommended completely if you wanna have an experience like never before with mexican style seafood this is your place you can quote me on this?

I've been driving by this place for years and i finally stopped in and was not disappointed! The food was AMAZING so fresh and tasty. I ordered the tostada el viejon and my son ordered the red aguachile. The portions are big. The service was excellent, all the servers were super attentive and came around constantly to make sure we didn't need anything. I would 100% recommend this restaurant.

Yajaira was super nice, very attentive and didn't have to ask for anything she was already giving it to us. The customer service was something I haven't had in a while very good. Really good food and micheladas it comes with shrimp as well and super fresh. She also bagged our food to take home and prepared it really well, I'm definitely coming back just for the service and great food.

This was my first time here and I am extremely impressed. The service was great. It seems like a great sit down place, but I ordered to go. I had the California burrito and it definitely is up there as one of the best I've had. For the price that most places sell mediocre burrito, this place gives you a whole meal. The burrito had the perfect fries to carne asada ratio. Both perfectly cooked and wrapped very tight and easy to eat. The only bad thing I can say is I wish it came with more of the delicious home style refried beans topped with queso fresco. The beans definitely reminded me of home. You also get a side of guacamole, pico de gallo, a grilled jalapeño and a bag of ships. Also received a total of 4 salsas, 2 rojas and 2 frescas, and I didn't have to ask. I will definitely be returning and hopefully dine in. This is the type of place that makes me want to try everything on the menu. It definitely seems like a hidden gem.

On a quiet corner resides a lively, friendly, and delightful mariscos restaurant. We came by around 5:30 for an early dinner. As seafood fans, my husband and I are always on the lookout for our new favorite local seafood spot. I'm glad we made the trip here because we totally found it! Ambiance was very nice, we were sat in the semi-outdoor patio. Lively music playing at a reasonable volume. There was also ample seating - great for large parties!! Our server was very friendly and attentive (the gal with braces). She checked on us despite having waiting on a large party. Hubby got the fish taco plate and really enjoyed his dinner. I got my favorite - Siete Mares! The rich broth was delicious and very flavorful, and a generous portion of seafood on top of that. I even had enough for a full container to take home. We also shared an order of a dozen oysters. Oysters were meaty, clean, and tasty! Considering the portion and quality, the price was very reasonable. Our check for the three came out to be $86 before tip. Had an overall fantastic experience here at La Sinaloense. Friendly service, awesome food. Highly recommended!

Don't bother looking further for another mariscos place. Your search stops here. The molcajetes are all so good, can't go wrong ordering one of those and they're more than enough to share. The tacos are all really good too. You know a place takes pride in their food when their sides are sooo good on their own. The beans & rice aren't just place holders for the plates, they're genuinely so good. Service is also great, super attentive and bring you whatever you need and ask for. The patio seating is super nice too, it's secluded with a nice view and ambiance, with plants surrounding. Makes you forget you're in spring valley. Must try

Chief's is one of those type of restaurants, but what I didn't know about Chief's is that it is a sister restaurant to JJ's Island Grindz and Chief's Da Tiki Bar. The food that was served came from JJ's Island Grindz and Chief's Da Crab Shack, and both served delish grub. Besides the tasty food, I really enjoyed the Hawaiian vibe inside, the tunes emanating from the House DJ made me want to dance, and I appreciated the hustle from the hard working staff. If you're looking for a restaurant for a party or a graduation celebration, check out Chief's Da Crab Shack. Chief's Da Crab Shack is located in South San Diego, specifically Bonita, and it can be reached utilizing the 805 freeway and driving east. The restaurant can be found within an outdoor strip mall that contains the following businesses: Chief's sister businesses, JJ's Island Grindz and Chief's Da Tiki Bar; Franco's Flapjack; Wells Fargo; Colima's Mexican Food; and Fresheria. There is plenty of parking in this shopping center. As you enter Chief's, you immediately notice the Hawaiian decor and fisherman imagery with dryed grass skirt material hanging over their seating booths, netting holding crustaceans and seashells, thick ropes, fish as light fixtures, and ocean birds. This is a spacious restaurant with indoor booth seating, tables and chairs, distressed wooden tables for group seating, and outdoor seating. There were televisions around the restaurant showing World Cup soccer. I appreciated the diligence of Chief's staff who hustled while handling my nephew's graduation party and regular customers visiting. Before making my first visit to Chief's Da Crab Shack, I thought we'd be grubbing on seafood that are boiled and placed in a plastic bag with your choice of seasoning. That is what Chief's primary business is, but since it's affiliated with JJ's Island Grindz, my nephew's graduation party had a buffet line that featured Hawaiian and Asian food, which came from both Chief's and JJ's. The following dishes from Chief's were waiting for our tummies: mini pork lumpia shanghai, buffalo lemon pepper wings, garlic noodles, and white rice. The following dishes from JJ's were calling our name: spam musubi, salt and pepper chicken wings, teriyaki chicken, kalbi beef ribs, and red rice. The spam musubi is spam wrapped with seasoned sushi rice and nori seaweed. The spam musubi was a tasty bite in a small package. The mini pork lumpias were packed with ingredients and flavorful. The salt and pepper chicken and the buffalo lemon pepper wings were crispy and wok fried with green onion, fresh minced garlic, crush red pepper, and lemon. I devoured those chicken wings, which ate well with the two types of rice. The garlic noodles were yummy and had an abundant amount of garlic flavor. The red rice complemented all of the protein I ate. The kalbi beef ribs were okay and I wished they were more tender. My nephew and in-laws made appetizing choices for the graduation party and I happily consumed two plates of the food. 4.5 stars because the kalbi beef ribs weren't as good as the other food items. When we were told that our nephew was celebrating his gradution at Chief's Da Crab Shack, I was looking forward to experiencing seafood seasoned in a plastic bag. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Chief's is affiliated with JJ's Island Grindz and was able to grub on delicious Hawaiian and Asian entrees from JJ's and Chief's. Next time, I'd like to visit both Chief's and JJ's and try entrees that they're known for.

However, if we dig a bit deeper and evaluate the po boy on NOLA standards; it's missing that NOLA flair. It is very buttery, which is pretty good; but if you're craving a NOLA corner store kind of po boy, this might not satisfy your cravings. It's a different style, which is fine, but good to know.

Got there at 4:45 for lupper (lunch-supper) on a Saturday, and it was PACKED! We got the last table before they started a waitlist and were taking names. It also took a minute for the waitstaff to catch up with us when we were seated, and when the food did arrive, it came in waves. The cons: my water refill didn't happen until the check arrived. The prices for the starters are almost in line with the entrées, but the protein portions aren't. The cocktail was also a little light on the liquor. The pros: everything was outstandingly delicious! While waiting for our food, they dropped off the crackers and tortillas, so we sampled the salsas: The green is a serrano pepper salsa with the heat hitting on the backend. Very citrus-forward with lime. The red is made with shishito peppers and a carrot juice base also citrus-forward. The orange is their chipotle salsa with a mayo base and, again, bright citrus notes. The fish chicharrón was small in size (think a dime) but a delicious bite, especially when you use the brown sauce (soy sauce, citrus, guacamaya sauce). I used the rest to dress the shredded cabbage that was below the protein on this dish. The smoked tuna is tremendous, but the portion is maybe a rounded teaspoon for the half order. The fresh fried onions on the ahi tuna plate is noteworthy. Return visit for sure.
