When I arrived, there was a long line and clear chaos behind the counter. The cashier looked completely overwhelmed -- taking orders, calling out orders, and answering the phone all at the same time. At one point, a customer was mid-sentence placing his order and the cashier cut him off to call out another order, then ignored him while there was still a line forming. Not a great look. By the time I reached the front, my fries were finally ready... 45 minutes later. Unfortunately, they were just okay by then. Quality and customer service seem to be declining, which is disappointing because this place used to be more consistent. Hope they can tighten things up. read more

Absolutely one of my TOP taco shops! The lines show for it. Quality and quantity. The salsas are the best too, green is my go to. I can't even tell you what my fav item is because all of their food is so flavorful and good. Reasonable pricing, so much bang for your buck! Seating on the inside and minimal seating outside. If you're in the area, make it a priority to try. Trust me, you won't regret it. Open super late too! read more

Stopped into Sarita's in the Spring Valley/Casa de Oro area last weekend after hearing a lot of good things and decided to try the carne asada breakfast burrito. Unfortunately, it was easily the worst burrito I've had all year. The carne asada was extremely bland and the whole burrito just had no flavor at all. I only made it through about a quarter of it before throwing the rest away, and no amount of salsa could save it. It was huge, so that meant tossing a lot of food, which was frustrating. On the positive side, everyone working there was genuinely friendly and the shop, while small, was clean and looked well kept. I went early in the morning, so it's possible I caught them on an off day, but based on other reviews it doesn't sound like my experience was unique. Last Thursday night, it was so nice to still see Alma there. She has always been so sweet, and once again she greeted us with the warmest smile. This place used to be really good -- great food and friendly customer service. Lately, though, things have gone downhill. The customer service is terrible now, and the food is just okay at best. My son accidentally went here instead of the place next door and asked if they had my phone order. They said yes and charged him. When he realized he was at the wrong taco shop, he immediately asked for a refund, but they refused, saying the food was already being cooked. That was their mistake -- and it wasn't right for them to lie and say they had our order. He left without taking the food, and we'll be disputing the charge with our credit card company. The carne asada fries were magnificent. Crispy fries, lots of cheese, perfectly cooked meat, and so much pico (you gotta ask to add since it normally doesn't have it on them). Very flavorful and they have the best green sauce. Also got the super cali burrito. Very yummy, but not as good as the fries in my professional opinion. Has always been a go to for years until some disrespectful young Mexican girl Named Ashley G who you can tell has no customer service etiquette laughing with a smirk told me I ordered my food wrong and I clearly stated no sour cream and made wrong but instead of tryna help find a solution wanted to make me take wrong burrito and recharge me to make it correct thinking I didn't speak Spanish too very Disrespectfully turn to the lady cooking who in Spanish told her laughing that this lady at the register wants me to make her a new burrito for free when she's making us waste food when in reality it was her mistake. They have the best carne asada fries and chips, rolled tacos, California and carne asada burritos, and Sarita's fries and chips (surf and turf fries with chipotle sauce). This is my go-to taco shop for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night cravings. I've done both take out and dine-in and can say the food has similar quality. The service consistent and the workers are polite. The tables are usually clean unless it's very busy then you might have to wait a bit to grab a clean table. They have both indoor and outdoor seating in case you have a preference. The overall vibe is like any other taco shop but the food is like no other. read more
