A few months ago, they expanded their menu and ever since then, they have consistent great food and wonderful service. I recommend the cóctel de camarones, cóctel mixto, mojarra frita, the soup, the shrimp in any style (but my favorite is the zarandeado style), the fish filet platter in any style, and the ceviche. I am very picky with my ceviche but I really like it here! On the weekends, they have live music. If it is too loud for you, you can sit at their spacious patio. We order Tostada de Ceviche, Tostada La Sirena ( shrimp & octopus, creamy) and crawfish. I'd have to say we were very satisfied with our meal. The ceviche was really fresh and you could taste exactly what you were eating. We did add a little salt but that's what you want, you want to be able to adjust to your liking and we did. Overly saturated food, especially seafood with seasonings is not good food. This place I'm sure understands that. I know the other reviewers disagree but I for one will be returning and enjoyed my very fresh and tasty ceviche. The ceviche was mushed up fish with lots of lemon to disguise the fact that the fish was old. I ordered three and could only eat half of the one. Shrimp Cocktail was lacking Shrimp as well flavor....though the shrimp were large ish hardly any Alvacado and fixings in the cocktail...to this patron it would seem like Pico de Gallo like fixings should have been abundant for the price...the cilantro was too bold and thick as paper... I have been to this restaurant since it opened. It has transitioned through management teams, however the most recent visit there was fantastic. The servers are very welcoming. Once your order is taken you may have to wait a little bit longer than you're used to... This is due to most of their menu being seafood thus, Cooked upon request. Please take note that if you select any given food to be "hot", be prepared for ***HOT SPICY FIRE*** hot. I love spicy food, so that was a big plus for me. The crawfish is fantastic! They currently have a special going on; 5 pounds for $35. Call them to make sure they still have the special. Every Friday they have a live band... Each Friday it's a different band. The bands are usually Banda, conjunto, or norteño band. Every now and then, they may hire comedians (usually on Saturdays only)- For which there may be an entry fee. I stopped here for lunch on a Wednesday about 12:30 and it was empty- I was the only one in there. It looks like they spent a lot of money on the place so hope it picks up for them. So, the service was great, but the food was pretty bland. I got a small shrimp cocktail (that came in the same glass as my tea did) and their fish and shrimp in Diablo sauce. Supposedly this was supposed to be spicy, I think ketchup is spicier. The shrimp was small and the fish was totally processed as it came in perfectly cut triangles. Won't be back. Stopped in today to buy a to-go order for my husband and myself. Was not impressed. I ordered 2 enchilada meals and a ceviche appetizer. I also ordered guacamole on the side because my husband loves guacamole. I'm allergic so I always order it on the side. I ordered a corona beer while I waited and watched part of a football game. My order didn't take very long. It was $36 and some change. Way over priced for the meal I received. When I got home and opened the styrofoam plates, the rice was white, not even plump or fluffy, the "salad" was lettuce and two quarter sliced very thin pieces of tomato, and a piece of onion. The enchiladas were dry, cheese was thick and clumpy on top, red sauce wasn't good and it was lying on tin foil which leads me to believe it was frozen in a container before I ordered it and was warmed up in an oven or something. The ceviche was the worst I have ever seen or my husband has tasted. I didn't see any fish in it for one thing and the container was full of white rice with some tomato, jalapeno, and cilantro. My husband said it tasted fishy but I took a fork and went through it and didn't see any. I was not able to taste it myself because instead of giving me guacamole on the side like I asked for, they cut 3 pieces of avocado and laid it on top of the ceviche and since I'm allergic, I couldn't take the chance of getting any of it in my mouth. They charge $3.99 for the 3 slices of avocado by the way. And if they think that sliced avocado is the same as guacamole, I could send them a few recipes.
