Haven't been to a Francesca in a while so decided to try the Naperville location. Love the historic grey stone building. Enjoyed the Bruschetta appetizer with asparagus, pancetta and Marconi almonds. So good with their warm bread. For lunch we had the Francesca smash burger with fontina, roasted cippolini onions and tomato, pancetta and fresh arugula. Had the chicken Caesar salad, and Margo (our server, who was phenomenal) suggested adding peapods and tomatoes. We'll be back for the burger as it's a $12 special on their weekday happy hour. read more

Held a bridal shower is the small party room On the second floor and it was the perfect size and ambiance for our small gathering of 14 people. The staff was wonderful and attentive-especially Margo, Griffith and Bianca. The event manager Michael was wonderful to work with and kept in contact with me through emails during the planning process. I chose the Primo Lunch Package and everything was delicious. We hosted a business dinner at La Sorella and rented out one of the private rooms upstairs. It was the perfect setting to socialize over cocktails before sitting down for dinner. The process of booking the room was very simple and they even put our company logos on the personalized menu. The food and wine were fantastic. The service was absolutely incredible, they went above and beyond to make it a great experience. They were very accommodating and brought the aps out early because we arrived earlier than anticipated. Donny, the owner was continuously checking in on us as well. I went to La Sorella di Francesca for a retirement party and it was held upstairs. The upstairs part had a lit of space including a bar. We had a few servers and they were very nice and attentive especially when it came to refilling our water and even getting us drinks at the bar. It was family style food off their menu but everything was delicious. One of my favorite item was definitely the calamari and the rigatoni dei sardi. I would definitely recommend this place for a large gathering. I do want to come here and try other items on the menu. read more

Went to a birthday party yesterday in the private room upstairs. The food (A+ Caesar's salad, sausage and peppers app, pasta bolognese, Vesuvio chicken) was nothing short of spectacular. By far, one of the worst places in downtown Naperville! Don't bother with this restaurant, the food, the ambience and the service was just not worth the trip! I made reservations over the phone the day of with no issues. I was seated by the window and my server never came by to see if I wanted a drink or an appetizer. Once my other party arrived, Bob came by and just tossed the menus at us. Quickly took our order and disappeared, we literally never saw him until check out. What a class act! A few weeks ago my cousins club had lunch at La Sorella. As often happens in restaurants some days just nothing goes right and apparently we were there on one of them. A call to the manager solicited an immediate response and he invited us to return today and try it again. All I can say is that it was fabulous! The food was extraordinary. Chicken so tender it melted in your mouth, a fish dish to die for, and pasta that tasted like back home in Italy. The service was exceptional, and the manager couldn't have been more gracious. Kids ordered the kids order of spaghetti with meatball. 1 ordered with Alfredo sauce and 1 with red sauce. White was consumed totally and red sauce was over sauced and bland. The meatballs were not very appealing as they were very dense. The adult ordered the rigatoni in vodka sauce with sausage and spinach fresh mozzarella. My husband and I were looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and ended up going to the first Speakeasy dinner at La Sorella di Francesca in Naperville. The food was excellent and the two singers were wonderful. The manager learned that it was our anniversary, introduced us to others in the room and had one of the entertainers sing "our song" while we danced. It made the evening very special for us. We had reservations on a Saturday night and were seated promptly even though we arrived 10-15 min early. We were seated upstairs. Even though the restaurant was crowded it was not loud and we were able to carry on a conversation. Our waitress and the busboy were both very friendly and helpful. The waitress was very personable and carried on a conversation and was able to tell us about the menu and suggested another dipping sauce for the calamari. Great food. I ordered the "Paccheri alla Vodka e Salsiccia" which was delicious. Sauce was incredible, noodles were amazing. I sat in alone on a work trip so I didn't get to try much but the Super Tuscan was a great pair. I'd love to have tried more variety of food as my meal was all noodles, sauce and cheese but I'm not mad about it lol My only complaint was that I am not familiar with ordering Italian, so I had no idea what the complex menu was suggesting on each dish and I didn't receive much help with it by the bar tender as the place was busy. read more

Ok you want hear something funny. I originally was looking for new places to try in Naperville. So as it is I like Italian. So I saved this place as somewhere i would like to try at some point. Well I decided to go Sunday afternoon and as were driving there i decide to take a look at the website and the menu. So as Im looking at the website I discover it's part of the Francesca's chain, one of which is in Bolingbrook. The one in Bolingbrook looks beautiful but I did not like the food. So i started having second thoughts, namely turn the car back around. But we go anyway. When we arrived there was no one to seat us. In fact we had to ask other patrons is this where you go to get seated. Strike 1, but whose counting. Eventually we were seated they provide bread, oil, and cheese. Bread is crunchy but with the oil, it's off the hook. I ordered a cup of sausage and lentil soup, very tasty. My entree pasta sardi with Italian sausage, tomato cream sauce and peas,no onions. It was good. The Italian sausage was very good. Our waiter was great. All in all, it's rare a restaurant makes you want to leave Owhen you enter, but by the end of the meal, although your still leaving you want to come back. read more

I've been to many different Francesca locations around the suburbs since my parents enjoy them. However, I haven't been to the Downtown Naperville location in a very long time and finally tried it out again yesterday. I entered around 1 PM on a Thursday afternoon with one of my friends. Although there were only a few patrons seated around various tables, we were still sat at a tiny table in a stuffy/dusty corner. This was especially disappointing given that even after we left over an hour later there were still many more spacious seats that would have been more comfortable to be at. Our waiter took a little bit to get to us, but when he did he was very courteous and helped to explain the menu. Afterwards, another server came by to bring the bread and parmesan/olive oil. The server was wonderful, very quick and efficient. And constantly came over to make sure everything was to our liking and to refill our waters. My friend and I both decided on the decently priced lunch combo. I ordered a Rigantoni Alla Buttera with the soup of the day (a potato and leek soup). The food itself was ok but nothing too exciting. The Rigatoni was good. I really enjoyed the sauce and the sausage. The soup was just meh. I was hoping because it said potato and leek soup that there would be chunks of both to help give more texture but unfortunately all it had were four small croutons floating above. Additionally, all of the food we got (including the bread) was kind of just lukewarm, it would have been a lot better if the food temperature was served hotter. All in all, a pretty average restaurant. Just a place to go if you are craving some pasta but nothing too amazing. read more

I've lived in the area for over 30 years and have been here a few times in the past. It will be my last. My wife and I went for an early dinner and struggled to find anything on the menu that sounded appealing. The menu is stale and dated, which is probably why two of their sister restaurants have closed. My wife decided to stop after the appetizer but I ventured to order the chicken cutlets. What a muddled mess. The pasta under the cutlets was cold and the cutlets had zero seasoning. I would have enjoyed a McDonalds Chicken sandwich more since at least those are seasoned. As other reviewers have mentioned, the service is slow and our waiter was doubling as a bartender. Great management decision. Our dessert menu was tossed on our table as the waiter walked by and didn't bother to explain any of the desserts. Last week we ate across the street at Mia Gia's and the pasta there was excellent although we wanted a quiter place tonight. There are other Italian places in town with much better food and service for a much lower price. Don't waste your money here. I will say that we always used to go to the sister restaurant on 59 and had no issues there. read more

Went in for lunch on a Monday. There were a handful of other couples. It is a nicer restaurant, but for lunch we went in wearing casual clothes and felt fine. What I ordered: I ordered the insalata alla francesca. It had several different veggies covered in blue cheese crumbles and tossed lightly in dressing. It was good! My boyfriend got the lunch combo with soup and panino con polpette. He enjoyed it a lot! Our lunch also came with fresh bread and olive oil, one of my favorites! The staff here was very attentive! I sometimes get worried going into less casual restaurants because occasionally the service is not as good if you are young. This was not the case here! The value of the meal was also very good! We decided to try a new restaurant for our 1st wedding anniversary, and it was definitely a challenge finding a place that seemed like it would have good food and would be open for dining during COVID. This restaurant had patio seating available and their employees were wearing masks, so it made us feel somewhat comfortable, and we had to celebrate the occasion a little. I was actually pretty excited to try it, but was sadly quite disappointed with the food. The Pizza Margherita was rather bland, as was their rigatoni alle verdure pasta (which had no real sauce or flavor). We also tried an appetizer, the Burrata con Pomodorini, in which the mozzarella tasted a lot better than the tomatoes. Our dessert wasn't the greatest either, and my husband had asked them to do something celebratory for our dessert when making the reservation and when we checked in, neither of which they did. The only thing I could probably compliment was the bottle of wine, which had a good flavor, and we were able to take the remainder of our wine home which was an added bonus. Overall, we left largely unsatisfied and somewhat disappointed that the celebratory dessert we had asked for hadn't happened. Our wedding anniversary celebration was made pleasant with each others company, but the food did not live up to the name or reviews unfortunately. We were seated on the second floor with about 50 of out of town guest from all over .
