    Salt flight for steak
    Shaun C.

I recently visited The Belmont American Steakhouse during their soft opening and had a wonderful experience. Great ambiance. Our server Nicholas was fantastic--attentive, friendly, and genuinely made the meal enjoyable. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the house rolls with the tallow butter candle were a standout--unique and absolutely delicious. My wife's Smashburger was excellent, and the entire staff was warm and welcoming. My daughter ordered the chicken fried lobster. It was a solid dish, though the breading could have used a little more seasoning and the grits came out sweeter than expected (I prefer mine savory). Minor notes aside, everything else was spot on. We'll definitely be back once they have their grand opening. Great food, great service, and a promising new spot in the area!

The Belmont is definitely a popular spot now that it's open! Make sure you make a reservation for prime time dinner hours. There is a large bar that is first-come-first-serve as well. We had an 8:30pm dinner reservation for a Friday night. We checked in with the host at 8:25pm and were seated a little after 8:40pm. Our waiter was very friendly and checked in with us several times throughout the night. Almost everything we ordered was extremely delicious. The bone marrow was super tasty - highly recommend! Our steaks were cooked to our desired temperatures and not overly charred. The side spinach was very watery and lacked any flavor - that is the only dish that I would definitely skip. Overall a lovely meal and we will be back.

Love the vibe of this restaurant, very pretty and moody with beautiful chandeliers. Service was great and our server stopped by often to check in on us. He was funny. All of the food we ordered was delicious, filet cooked perfectly. We'll be back!

The Belmont is worth a visit. The ambiance and service are next level - feels like an old school big city chophouse. Very impressed at how they were able to capture that feeling, it feels like a place that has a long storied history attached to it. The service was next level as well, super attentive yet not bothersome. I believe our servers name was Patrick and he was phenomenal - easy going, personal and knowledgeable. The drinks were fantastic and there is an extensive wine selection. The food was all very tasty as well - I wasn't particularly blown away by any one dish but it was all very good. I imagine the food will only continue to improve and get refined - one thing is for certain, they have the atmosphere and service nailed. From the steak knife selection to the trio of seasoning salts - the experience felt high level and unique.

This is a top tier restaurant. We went to celebrate our daughter's 22 birthday. Our server, Julie, was amazing. We started with drinks, got appetizers, we all ordered steaks, and finished with desserts. This place really reminds me of a Vegas style steakhouse. Such a special place, but you could also duck into the bar area and enjoy the ambiance without doing a full blown dinner. Great tequila selection. We will definitely be back.

Came here with my husband for a celebratory dinner and we were very impressed from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere is stunning. The food was incredible. We got the Parker rolls with the beef butter candle, crab cakes, dry aged ribeye, cauliflower and corn brûlée (which was the star of the show). This place reminded us of Bavettes or Trivoli Tavern. It is exactly the modern Chicago steakhouse Naperville needed and we will be back!

From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional, attentive, friendly, and welcoming without ever feeling overbearing. The food was absolutely phenomenal. The bread served with the bone marrow candle was one of the most unique and delicious starters I've ever had. Watching the marrow melt into a rich, buttery spread for the fresh bread was an unforgettable experience. The tomahawk steak was cooked to perfection, tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Paired with the corn, which was bursting with flavor, it was a combination to die for. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, and the entire meal exceeded our expectations. If you're looking for an incredible dining experience with outstanding food and impeccable service, this place is an absolute must-visit.

So I thought we were all set. Our reservation was for 6:00, and we arrived at 5:54. We were told to wait until six, which was perfectly fine. Six o'clock rolls around and we're told they're still cleaning the table. Okay, we wait. Then we wait. And wait. Thirty minutes later, we find out the people who had the table STILL hadn't even left. Baby...what exactly were we reserving three weeks ago, a future dream? They offered us a complimentary appetizer, which I appreciate in theory, but when you've got a party of eight waiting 40 minutes past their reservation time, I'm not really looking for the cheapest appetizer on the menu. I'm looking for the table I reserved. Eventually, we were seated, and thank GOD for our server Alexis B, because they completely turned the experience around. Funny, knowledgeable, incredibly kind, and genuinely one of the best servers I've ever had. If I could give them five stars separately, I would. They made us feel welcome and somehow kept the whole table laughing after that rocky start. The food had some hits and misses. The crab cake was a little too spicy for my taste, although the rest of the table enjoyed it. The mini sliders, however? DELICIOUS. That buttery, well seasoned bun was doing exactly what it needed to do. Then came my Entourage burger, and baby...THAT burger understood the assignment. It was absolutely packed with flavor. So good that I practically inhaled it. My server even asked if I wanted another one because apparently I ate it fast enough to qualify for a second round. Unfortunately, the management situation left a lot to be desired. After the issues getting our table, the managers seemed to keep watching our group throughout the night. If you're going to stare, baby, at least commit to the performance! It made an already awkward situation feel even more uncomfortable. Honestly, my server Alexis B, was the ONLY reason this experience ended on a positive note. They were so charming and personable that by the end, they felt more like a friend than a server. I'm genuinely going to miss them. The food was good, and that burger was fantastic, but a three-week reservation should not turn into a 40 minute wait with a party of eight standing around wondering when they're going to eat. So unfortunately, I'm leaving with two stars. The food gave me reasons to come back, but the reservation experience and management gave me reasons to stay home. And to my server: you were the star of the night. Protect this person at all costs.

Walked in with starving teenage boys on a Sunday after noon. The place was packed. Ordered a Margarita pizza with 6 slices for an app. We have high expectations of this one and we were all so busy eating it and looking up. Wondering is this really this amazing. Hell yes, it was. The sauce, the crust. The amount of sauce. Etc. all hit it just right. Second app was a plate of fresh cut fries. Once again this place does not cut corners. Perfectly fried with a crunch and sea salt on top. That was a busy plate getting gobbled up before our entrees showed up. For my entree, I got the mushroom parpadelle with shrimp. I had no clue until I started to eat it that it was homemade pasta. In my head I kept thinking there is no way this is not made in house. I asked the waiter and yes indeed he said they are making pasta all day long. With the amount of people in this restaurant. I can only imagine how busy that kitchen is creating this soft and fresh beautiful pasta. If you have ever made pasta. You know how much time and work it is. Sorry, back to my dish: the shrimp we cooked to a perfection. Quality high, the mushrooms were fresh and I could not wait to find more. If you want Italian. Skip the chains. Altavida's concepts for the three levels are Publico, Rumba, and Altura. Publico (1st Flr)- A South American fusion of food and drinks that will be rotating. The cocktails will be more tequila and mezcal based and food will be subtly rotated based on trends happening in South America. The food menu currently offers tapas, empanadas, ceviche, guacamoles, larger format meat/seafood entrees, and more. They will have a front of our bar as well as a back bar that will specialize in more coffees/coffee cocktails. Rumba (2nd Flr)- The entertainment floor! There is a separate bar on this floor that will specialize in more Rum based cocktails. Additionally, they will have a wine bar area with wines in tap. Lastly, they will have an open area for live music as well as dancing. Their hope is to have a mix of jazz, club music, salsa dancing options available. Altura (3rd Flr)- This floor is still under construction but will have a rooftop patio. The hope is that this space will be an event space both for public and private events. Back to my experience! My partner and I stopped in for a cocktail and to see what Altavida was about. Our first bartender was very nice but was still getting used to the drink recipes and was leaning on their cheat sheets. While we waited, another bartender kindly told us all about the restaurant and its focus on hospitality. Unfortunately, each bartender had a slightly different explanation of the restaurant's goal concepts which was confusing. We ended up ordering the El Toro and Vaquero (both mezcal drinks). Both were VERY spirit forward to the point that it may have needed better balance. Both drinks had a nice presentation with garnishes, color, and a skull feature at the bottom of the glass. Lastly, we saw many people walk up and look confused as there was no formal host stand. They didn't know if they should seat themselves or wait for someone. Overall, there still seems to be some kinks needing to be worked out as well as some conceptual editing. I feel they are trying to achieve too much and it ends up being confusing for staff and guests. I hope with time, Altavida is extremely successful in the Naperville area and I hope to circle back after some time passes.

Edwin, the general manager was so friendly and accommodating by making sure that everything was to our liking. He is a gem. My husband and I ordered a few different tapas to share. They are spicy and have a nice kick. The portion is pretty big and shareable. Last, we had chicken en mole. Omg, so good! They knocked it out of the park with this one. The presentation is very pleasing and the flavor is 10/10! I'm a hot sauce girly and even carry it in my bag just in case. The sauce they had in the dish was so good that I didn't even think about adding hot sauce! The rice and chicken along with the sauce is chef's kiss. I also tried the Brussels sprouts but they were my least favorite of everything. They should go back to the drawing board on that one. The drinks we had were solid. My husband had an espresso martini and dragonfruit margarita, while I had a mango margarita. All were good. Needless to say, I had an amazing evening at Altavida!
