Despite going to the counter to order, the staff were very nice and accommodating, delivering food to the table and obtaining other items as needed. Very bright, white, clean interior that is calming and chill. The seating is great for chit chatting as well as having a bite while working. You order at the back of the place and get a number and they bring food to your table. Everything here was subdued- music was perfect low and not distracting. I ordered the Cobb salad it was a lot of chicken. Great amount of protein sources and fiber. It was dressed a little heavier than I'd like. I didn't think to ask for light dressing. Really a 1.5 star... im being generous When we walked in I thought wow I really like the vibe and the place was packed. The good review stops there... We both ordered the quiche... it was so bad. Im pretty sure it was microwaved back to what was supposed to be hot, however it was only hot in some places most of it was room temp. The prosciutto in it tasted like bad breath... we picked that out and the eggs were rubbery and tasted reheated. To be honest I didnt even eat the whole thing. I ordered what i think was the s'more latte. It was decent but it was room temperature, not even warm. My partner ordered a cappuccino which he also claimed to be Luke warm at best. OMG -- I am SO mad. La Sorella is awesome. And I need to say that it's awesome -- and yet, it means more people will come and I will need to wait longer to get their awesome food. That's why I'm mad. Seriously -- I rarely give five stars on a first visit; I usually start with four, reserving the fifth, if earned, for my next trip. But I have to give them five stars. The location, the ambiance (it used to be a yoga studio, so there's a lot of good energy in there already!) -- and the hybrid of casual and table service. You go up and order whatever you might be eating or drinking (there's a small fridge for sodas and other cold drinks), and you're given a number. Then you go sit at your table, and someone in a lovely, slightly-too-big-for-them waitperson's jacket brings over your food. I had the special sandwich -- a BLTA on toasted multigrain bread. So. Freakin'. Good. Fresh ingredients, really high quality bacon (I'm not a big bacon eater, but this was excellent). The sandwich came with a side of greens with a really bright citrus vinaigrette. From the cute decor when you walk in to the comfortable seating this new cafe is such a unique vibe for the area! Each table against the wall has multiple outlets for working with your laptops or other devices. There's even bar seating for solo guests at the windows. We tried breakfast this visit and will definitely go back for lunch. Salmon toast, egg sandwich (swapped the bacon for mortadella), and Nutella croissant were ordered. The smoked salmon toast was delicious and tasted fresh not frozen. The egg sandwich had sooooo much pesto on it that next time we will opt out. Lastly the Nutella croissant was stuffed with bananas and tasted good but wasn't anything amazingly unique that couldn't be made at home, next time we will try the pain au chocolate instead! The kids had the Nutella croissant they really loved them. My husband ordered the chicken Milanese sandwich and my teenage son ordered the favorite of the table Prosciutto sandwich. They look elegant, professional, and match their upscale style. Nothing throws me off more than paying top dollar for food and it's served to me by someone in jeans and a T shirt. 5/5 Service...friendly, accommodating, but not attentive and no drive or second gear. Definitely overstaffed, but only 2 people hustling and the rest are milling around behind the cafe bar talking. I know you're newly opened and you have to over staff, but 3 hustlers is better than 6 deadbeats. 3/5 Food/drink...fast service. Quick out of the kitchen, for the breakfast order my wife and I had. Egg sandwich with pesto, fontina, and bacon. Bacon was crispy and it ends there. The roll was dry. The eggs are dead and not fluffy. And, the pesto lacked pine nuts or any crunch. I know people are allergic to nuts, I get it, but use toasted bread crumbs or something to add that texture. The side salad served with breakfast was perfection. The lemon vinaigrette dressing was excellent. The cappuccino was good, not too milky and great foam. The pastries looked amazing in the display case but I did not have one. I'm looking forward to trying one in the future. 3/5 Price...not cheap. They're overstaffed, have to pay for everyone. The design/concept/space is gorgeous and modern...customers have to pay for that view. $17 for a dry egg sandwich and cappuccino is a lot for humble Fishkill. 3/5 Overall...good, nice, chic option for the area. The manager/owner was on site touching tables and it was a nice touch. Very personable I know the Hudson valley is changing and becoming more upscale, but it's hard to run a business when you price out your locals.
