But this spot completely exceeded our expectations. We ordered delivery, and even then, everything arrived fresh, well-packaged, and still absolutely delicious--which says a lot. The food was incredibly flavorful without being heavy or greasy (something that's hard to find). You could really taste the freshness in the ingredients, and every dish felt well-balanced and thoughtfully made. This is one of those places you don't necessarily expect to be that good, and then it totally delivers. We'll definitely be ordering again next time we're in Ventura!

Rather than tell us while we were ordering that it might take longer than normal, they don't communicate anything and then don't even address the issue until I go up there to complain. Once that happened the tacos came out in less than 5 minutes which is even more upsetting since this is how fast they should have come out to begin with. The gentleman who I think was an owner did apologize and try to offer some free drinks which I politely declined as I knew I'd never be back again. I hope that this business learns to service the customers properly that are actually dining there and if there is an issue at least takes some initiative to address it on the front side. Most working class people only get a 30-45 minute lunch to begin with so it wasn't cool that we literally wasted 30 minutes just sitting there with no explanation. There are plenty of other good places around Ventura for lunch - especially for tacos. Won't be going back here ever.

During my stay in Ventura, I discovered a small Mexican restaurant in a strip mall right across the street from my motel. This little eatery served up a variety of favorites including quesadillas, ceviche, fish tacos, and my go-to, the Carne Asada burrito. When I walked up to order, the girl behind the counter didn't look too thrilled to be there. No attitude or anything, but the vibe she gave off was pure "No quiero estar aquí." However, let me tell you, the Carne Asada burrito more than made up for the RBF (Resting Bored Face). That burrito was increíble! The meat was perfectly crispy around the edges, just the way I like it. To top it off, the salsa added an extra kick with its spicy, flavorful goodness. It was a meal to remember. So, if you can overlook the less-than-enthusiastic greeting, you're in for a real treat with their Carne Asada burrito. ¡Vale la pena! read more
