I picked up food with my family from La Taqueria. I liked the location of the restaurant. Luckily we were able to find parking right in front. We ordered tacos, volcano, hard tacos, and guacamole and chips. Their food is superb. It tastes authentic and they have Mexican soda which is such a treat to enjoy a tasty Mexican soda with your tacos. This is a converted house on a hill, with limited seating but additional seating in the backyard! Don't flinch, because the food is delicious! It was alright. The meat was very dry and the food had nothing special to it. Honestly, the only thing they do better than Senor Ramon is the way they make their tortilla. I ordered the chicken and Carne Asada. They have a little salsa bar. Also, there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. My bf got the carne asada and chorizo. read more

On Friday 10/11/24 one of my kids asked me to take them to a "Hispanic" restaurant so she could write some notes for her Spanish class. Yes, a Hispanic child takin clases de Castellano/Español Most times we go to Manassas for decent tacos, tortas or something similar as Leesburg doesn't really have much to choose from as far as authentic Mexican cuisine goes. We've been to la taqueria twice, when the place was recently opened and this past Friday. The first time food was decent and it was warm and no little fruit flies. Last Friday; the tacos were cold and the tortillas disgusting like the ones Walmart sells. The pambaso was just a little bitty piece of ¿something? with no flavor whatsoever, the agua the Jamaica just as bad as the food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]One less important thing but part of the experience was the atmosphere, I've never been to a Mexican restaurant that only plays loud and obnoxious bachata music over the speakers.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Did I mention that we received the wrong order twice? Meats are tasty, but a little bit dry. Like that they use corn tortillas. Salsas for the tacos were good, but nothing memorable. Chips and guac were very good. I checked out La Taqueria on their grand opening on Cinco de Mayo. It was good! This is a humble taco shop that delivers on flavor and authenticity. The al pastor taco was my favorite- I wish I had gotten three of those. I also got a carna asada gringa, which is basically a quesadilla, and the chips and guac. The amount of chips was very small- like the kids size at Chipotle- but the guacamole was excellent! Smooth and fresh with a hint of fresh lime zest. The staff was welcoming and friendly. Service was a little slow, but that's understandable for a new restaurant. It wasn't very busy when I went, but I imagine they could get backed up if they were busy. It's pretty small inside, but there are plenty of places to sit. With people it can get pretty loud, but the porch seating is much quieter. The only downsides were that I ordered my taco sans onion, and it came with onion, and the amount of chips in the chips & guac was small. Go for the Guacamole! The guacamole was really good, perfectly fresh avocados with a bright lime and spicy flavoring. The chips were also very good, a bit thicker than average and with a very good crunch. That was the good part. The Quesabirria Tacos didn't look anything like the picture on the menu screen. (Which is probably a stock photo.) The meat wasn't particularly tender or well seasoned, maybe halfway there. The consomme had nowhere near the depth and richness in flavor that I have had elsewhere. The amount of food on the plate, three tacos and nothing else, didn't seem worth the price. The Chilaquiles Verdes, with chicken, was too salty. Overall, with the exception of the guacamole, the food wasn't any better than you could make yourself with ingredients from your local grocery store. If I had made this at home I would have thought, well it's okay. Paying Northern Virginia prices for it left me distinctly unhappy. Drinks are all bottled, so no refills, except for free water. I would have liked iced tea. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service and ambience were fine.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I can't think of any reason to go back, unless I wanted guacamole, chips, and water. read more

Ok I understand that there are not that many Mexicans, I am assuming but this place is not good. And let me state that yes I am Mexican. The food with no flavor and the salsas were watered down. My birria burritos was made of white rice, some lettuce and a small line of meat (hair line). First, birria is not served with white rice. Am just saying. But that was not the problem it was a tortilla full of rice!!!!When I brought it up to their attention since the menu picture reflects a burrito full of meat. The cook was upset poked his finger in my burrito to move all the rice around and found a string of meat and said "there it is". He made me a new one and it was the same thing. A tortilla with white rice and a couple of strings of meat maybe .002 oz of meat. Horrible and there is a sign outside that claims best food. Hell no. The owner was a cook, that was a disappointment overall. I was there with other friends and they were unsatisfied. But it's up to them to review. read more

Best local tacos I have found in the area. They remind me of the street tacos in Los Angeles. They have authentic ones like cabeza and lengua and you can't get those at other restaurants around here. The homemade salsa is top notch as well. Highly recommend this taco spot!! read more

This place is awesome! It is located just a few feet away from a local taco staple - Senior Ramon's. As a die hard Senior Ramon's fan I was hesitant to try this place, but I was not disappointed! La Taqueria is a tad bit more simple in the way they create their tacos, leaving the customer the ability to use their toppings and sauce bar to create the taco of their choosing. Their sauces were the perfect level of spice but also packed with flavor. My only reservation is the carne asada was a tiny bit dry. We got several tacos (and went back for seconds), guac and the spicy papas (also went back for seconds ). Ok, now I am not exaggerating when I say that there is something godly about those spicy papas. Whatever they use to season them is from another world. That right there (along with their spicy guac) will separate them from any other local competition. They need to bottle that sauce up and sell it. As for the place itself - the restaurant is immaculate. It's super clean and fun. The tables are comfortable and easy to use for families. The bathroom was spotless. There are places to eat inside, on the porch and around back. They will not struggle with seating and the outdoor option is super nice. The staff was incredible as well. They brought our tacos out to us personally even though the style of the restaurant is to leave it on the bar and have the customer pick it up. My only complaint is they wouldn't tell me what's in the secret, spicy, papas sauce . All around impressed. Great job, La Taqueria! We will be coming again soon! read more

Great Resturant, great service , great food especially the Tortas . The Guacamole is some of the best I've had in leesburg.

My mom and I had heard about this place on Instagram and decided to give it a try. We lived in Mexico City for a few years so we are always a bit hesitant to try new taco places but this one was incredibly authentic and very good. I only tried the Al Pastor and Carne Asada tacos but they gave a lot of meat in them and they were flavorful and didn't even need salsa. I highly recommend the corn on the cob as it was just like the ones you get in Mexico (it is elote with non-sweet corn which is very hard to come by). The gentleman behind the counter was very kind and he was super personable and we enjoyed talking to him. Also, they were playing a mexican league soccer game in the background (huge plus). Definitely recommend for a fresh made, well priced taco!!! read more
