for starters me and my girl came in for my birthday dinner we walk in and no one is at the bar or the host stand looks like a ghost town finally (20 min later) we get sat at a booth order our food my girl asks for only cheese and beef on my tacos and I do the same on my enchiladas however when I got my food it was only cheese this was when the waitress proceeded to leave us at our table for 20 more minutes without filling our water she finally comes back and says she's sorry and how i said cheese anyway I told her I'd eat it if it could be taken off the bill or maybe have price anyway she comes back to my table after I asked for a refund with a HALF COOKED BOWL OF BEEF FOR ME

Stopped in for dinner and were oddly were seated in the very back of the restaurant, even though there was plenty of open seats upfront. We sat there staring at our menus for about 10-15 minutes until waitress showed up. We ordered a couple of margaritas with the salt and two appetizers: the Nachos Supreme and Shrimp Ceviche. The drinks came out in plastic cups and looked like lime juice and tasted bad. The apps came out quickly and were just okay. We had chicken on the nachos and it was just one large lump of shredded chicken on one side of the plate under the chips. The Shrimp Ceviche tasted fine. For dinner we ordered the Chicken Fajitas and Enchiladas. All three of our dinner orders came out about 5-10 min apart so we sat there waiting. The fajitas were a nice portion but loaded with mushrooms and we had no shredded cheese or sour cream. She didn't ask if we wanted it so we thought it was included. When our waitress finally returned we asked for a water and a beer. The water never showed and the beer was not what was ordered. Overall, the food was just okay and the service was not good. Not sure how this place stays in business. We won't be back.

Good food and great service. Also a good value. They're a little tucked away, so not that prominent of a location.

Food is very good, service is not. I've tried both locations here in northern Delaware and it's the same.

What is the difference between La Tonalteca and La Tolteca?

Nothing. I've been to la Tolteca on 202 tons of times and now that I live in pike creek I go to La Tonalteca by Christians or in Lantana Square. Literally the same exact menu.

My last visit was March of 2014, and I am very happy it is still here. We had reservations for the bar area, and were seated right away at a small table. We started with a Pomegranate Bellini and vodka and sprite, with Shrimp Lejon. The shrimp were huge wrapped in delicious, crispy bacon with a dill horseradish sauce. This was a good start. Next we tried the Better Cheddar since they are known for that. Wow, it was cheese and smoke and figs and pear and nuts and crispy flat bread. So many fantastic flavors! I ordered the Grilled Yellowtail Special, and RJ had the NY Strip Special. Mine was so beautiful, , cooked perfectly, with asparagus and lumps of crab. RJ's steak melted in his mouth. We finished with an apple bread pudding that was absolutely incredible. Our server was friendly, fast, and efficient and we will definitely be back to enjoy more of the menu and check out their little shop next door.

When my daughter went Vegan in one of those 'phases of…read morelife' I shook my head but I do love my veggies and have come to discover some really great Vegan dining but it is never the first thing I look for. So when I was told that I would love the Daily Veg I was hesitant but the endorsement piqued my curiosity and I also had a meeting in the neighborhood so I stopped by to discover what would be a perfect "quick" dining experience because this is not fast food. The Daily Veg has a positive vibe when you walk in and the staff were extremely friendly as they encouraged us to enjoy the food. And, perhaps even more importantly I was nudged to sample an incredibly delicious "milkshake" that I really never would have ordered on my own. They call their food "COMFORT FOOD" but I called it yummy! The menu board and the staff member made the Cowboy Cheeseburger should like it should be my choice plus Sweet Potato Tater Tots ... I so love tater tots and SWEET potato tots sounded so good. And, I quickly ordered a regular beverage but I was asked ... "Wouldn't you like to try our "Cookie Monster" milkshake? I looked at the image ... it was blue and I remembered an awful blue ice cream my grandson had purchased elsewhere and then shared with me that was awful so I was saying no no no but they said yes yes yes so I went for it. When you are trying out a new place and the staff says try it ... I guess you try it. Let me tell you ... that COWBOY BURGER was absolute comfortly delicious. The blend of flavors was oh so good ... ok, you can't create Vegan bacon so the "tempeh bacon" is NOT BACON ... not crisp nor tasting like the bacon I love but it's flavor was a perfect match for Daily Veg's "Beyond Burger" patty. The pepper jack cheese melted into the sandwich and the onion rings ... mmmmm I am getting hungry remembering that yummy sandwich. The tots made me very happy but the milkshake was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good. Now, I had been craving a milkshake before visiting the Daily Veg. I did not tell the folks there that I was craving a thick delicious milk shake because the last place (Until now) I would ever order a milkshake would be a Vegan outlet. But that blue Cookie Monster shake ... OMG .... So good starting with the cookies on top. The cookie crumbles throughout ... the rich dairy-like flavor and the the blue didn't bother me at all .... Because I was being treated to something really good. My friend who went for the Pretzel Sausage and enjoyed that choice and I agreed that we will return and next time encourage others to join us. Who would have thought ... VEGAN "comfort food" not fast food ... but it is served quickly by people who want you to enjoy it (The young lady who made my milkshake even came out to our table to see if I enjoyed it.). I wouldn't be surprised to see franchises in your neighborhood ... a fun comforting meal. I need a milkshake that's blue COOKIE MONSTER!!!!

The food gives you that fine dining experience without the pretentiousness. The staff is warm and friendly -- shout out to Chet for his amazing service. They were also very accommodating to our son who was in between napping when we began dining, setting up a high chair for us in a way that would allow him to continue sleeping in his car seat. We started the meal off with some seared scallops that were perfectly arranged. Next, my wife had some seared tuna while I ordered the Colorado bison -- both items off of the special seasonal menu. The dishes were incredibly flavorful and the veggies that surrounded the meat added a nice complement. I also really enjoyed my California cab, as did my wife with her house Manhattan. We will definitely be back next time we are in Delaware, and highly recommend to anyone visiting the Hockessin area!

All through our visit I will say all the waiters and waitresses were all hustle and bustle! I mean they were moving! Their menu had a few unique things on it. We had the prosciutto stuff mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and they were tasty. The waitress had offered us ranch or marinara and since they were mozzarella sticks we took the marinara, which was good, but next time I'll do the ranch because I could see how that could really kick it up! While we waited for our dinner, I couldn't help but notice lots of yummy looking things passing by. Most notable was the wedge salads and the nachos. For my main course I had the Chicken Vera Cruz. It was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The chipotle cream sauce was so good and next time I'll be asking for for extra on the side as some of it got mixed into the cilantro-lime rice and yes, yes, yes that should be a thing. It was more quiet than a tavern normally is which was good. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Overall, I recommend trying this place out!

Well, everything has changed. I ordered the chicken fajitas with no peppers, only to be told that they coudn't accomodate that request. Apparently they don't cut their own onions & peppers anymore, it comes in as a mix. I'm sorry, but if someone orders no peppers, accomodate them. The fajitas came out not sizzling and stuck to the cast iron skillet. Chicken was lukewarm so it was sitting in the kitchen for a bit. The tortillas used to be in a basket wrapped in a napkin to keep them warm & soft. Not anymore. They came on the skillet with the lukewarm chicken & they were hard around the edges. More evidence of food just sitting around. I loved the chicken fajitas there, that place was what made me even like fajitas. Unfortunately, they have lost me as a customer. They've even changed the way the do the tortilla chips. I don't think they're homemade anymore. They taste like they were dumped out of a bag into a basket. I'm sure these decisions were made to save money. Well, in an attempt to save money, you have sacrificed the quality of the food. Horrible!!!!!
